Ubisoft crowns new Prince of Persia

Although there will be a new character I think the game will be awesome and will blow away Assassin's Creed (I think AC is overrated btw)! I really hope they'll manage to get a great story because PoP always had strong stories.

I so can't wait for this. The Sand of Time is such a awesome game, so I hope this one will do well.:D

I'm always down for another Persian adventure :P Even if they took the Prince out and added a whole new setting, give me solid adventure with tight controls and I'm Oooo-kay.

Nice. I really did like the darker edge of the last two, and even tho graphics arnt all important, I am REALLY looking forward to seeing this game made on a new / differant more current gen engine. Viva La PoP !

new characters, why? there no other prince of Persia, call him the prince of whatever but not Prince of Persia cause there's only one in the video games and he is the coolest! and they should continue the never ending story

cool. i was so sure assassin's creed would take over as ubisoft's great thing. it makes me happy to see them return to prince of persia. i'm so excited about this.

the real name of this game is " Prince of Persia : The Ghosts of the Past ".

If they release x-mas '08, it will be ahead of the movie. Interesting.

santiagochile, Omg, is this kid being serious? Is he honestly trying to say a syste,m with inferior and out of date hardware is going to take out a 360 or PS# in FPS shooter market? You being serious? First of all Red Steel 2, your banking on that to be the answer to Wii FPS when the first was was totally LAME? Red Steel had me excited, then i played it and releized it wasn't at all they way people thought it was going to be. The Wii is for kids and casual gamers, your not going to see anyone making any blockbuster FPS for the Wii. Its hardware if INFERIOR, though the controller is neat, the system has almost the same graphics and processor power of an ORIGINAL Xbox.

Prince of Persia Trilogy is my favourite Action Adventure ever! I just can't wait to see what the new story will be like.

And MoHH2 has 32 player online, while Call of Duty doesn't. Heck, COD couldn't even get 24 or 20, it only has 16. Lame! Besides, dual analog for FPS is dead. The Wii Zapper will see to that. Games like Red Steel 2 and the Conduit have the chance to finish of your lame Call of Duty game.

I've played games on the PS3 and the 360, and using dual analog makes me feel like I'm playing an N64 game on steroids. The other consoles can't play games like MoHH2, Metroid Prime 3, Excite Truck, and Mario Kart Wii. The wiimote is changing gaming. Dual analog is good for classic games from the 20th century. I've moved on. As for the Wii dumbing down the games, forget it. The Wii is changing gaming the same way the DS did for handheld.

How would a Wii version "dumb down" the other versions? Nearly every PC game I've every played has had scalable resolutions and graphical settings. So, if a game is made for a PC, and it is getting ported to a console, the only thing that needs to be done is make it so it uses a controller instead of keyboard and mouse. The issue is that some game developerls get lazy and don't want to mess with this. and thus release nearly idendical graphical quality games across all consoles. That is game developers being lazy. Don't hate the Wii because of it. Madden games are a perfect example. They look wonderful on the 360 and PS3 and have GC like graphics on the Wii. The Wii didn't dumb down Madden.

I am very happy they are not making a Wii version. Why ?? Because the Wii version would dumb down the other versions like the PC.

The Prince of Persia series is one of my all-time favorites. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us this time around.

I like the Nintendo Wii but only as a secondary console. Right now I have both a 360 and a PS3 and would like to get a Wii but I'd never own only a Wii. The reason why Nintendo wont get the really good games like GTA 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 is because the machine cant handle the graphics, the adult content and the Wii is catered mostly for females and old people who think waving a controller at the TV screen makes them look cool. LOL

Sounds cool... I'll be on watch for this as well... Assassin's Creed really sent me a good impression for the future of these games. Think it can only get better from here =D

Yes, Rockstar and Ubisoft have been really lazy and insulting to Wii owners by not bringing games like Assassin's Creed and GTA IV to the Wii, yet bringing crappy PS2 and Gamecube ports like Manhunt 2, Bully, and PoP Rival Swords. Don't they get it, the Wii has won this generation, and is the only true next gen console out there. I for one hope that EA buys out Rockstar. EA has made one of the best shooters with MoHH2 with its revolutionary control scheme and 32 player online with no lag. What has either Rockstar or Ubisoft done for the Wii? NOTHING! And why is Ubisoft making games for the DS Lite and not for the Wii?

I, for one, hope they go back to a more Arabian/orchestral score.... to give it an epic feeling. They need to ditch the rock music; we have Devil May Cry for that. If Ubisoft can somehow use the Assassin's Creed engine, and throw in a prequel story... that could use the prince's father, King Sharaman, they could have gold here. That idea worked for Metal Gear Solid 3, don't see why it couldn't work for Prince Of Persia either.

This is great news. I sure hope it returns to the fun, lighthearted style of SoT rather then the forced "dark n' edgy" tone of the last two games.

Not sure if I'd rather have PoP, AC, or something totally new using their technology. Splinter Cell, are you still out there?

TSOT was amazing, and I can't hep but think of how awesome this new game will be, especially if it uses the Assassin's Creed engine. It'll be interesting to see how they'll make it less frustrating without the ability to reverse time. Sweet news.

Awesome. I loved Sands of Time. Hope this one will be better than Warrior Within and Two Thrones.
