Holiday Sweep Day 3:
A few more interesting things appeared today:
- Gadget Racers, PS2, n. mint, complete, $9.99
- Whiplash, PS2, new/sealed, $19.99
- Spikeout: Battlestreet, Xbox, n. mint, complete, $19.99 (trade item for Wafle if he wants to upgrade)
gmsnpr
I liked Whiplash, but it was obviously rushed. About halfway through the quality went to hell. $20 seems high. Spikeout, I have to pick that up -- for whatever reason it reminds me of Godhand, another game I have to get. Oh and Dog's Life -- I have not seen that anywhere.

My wife gave me no games for Christmas, she figures that I buy enough during the year. She gave me clothes and the Chronicles of Narnia Limited Edition box set thingy with the Special extended version and the bookends. But I really wanted that so I'm fine with no games for Christmas. She also gave me a gift card from Best Buy. Oh and I bought Medal of Honor: Rising Sun for the Xbox yesterday new for $9.99duncanr2n
Right on Wafle! The 360 now comes with a 12 month warranty, so use and abuse that thing as much as you can in the first year.
[QUOTE="waflerevolution"]
today (MUCH to my surprise) I got a primium 360 (from my parents, younger sister and I'm guessing great grandmothers money) and gears of war from my brother and older sister. I had also walked away from 2 family parties over the last few days with about 550 dollars... game buys soon to come.

Gears of War = much gaming goodness. $550? Nice. I got a bunch o' cash as well ($600?) but it was giving jointly to me and my wife which means that we'll probably be buying pillow shams or frilly things like that with it. :(

Anyway...
2007 Christmas presents: Round Two.
LocoRoco from my in-laws and Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2 (PS2) from my wife. Also, something like $80 total in gift certificates to Best Buy, Target, and EB. Round Three will be what I buy with those gift cards.
Oh, and kudos to your wife, jollyroger. Especially on the older carts.

[QUOTE="waflerevolution"]I was going to buy more but I got kicked out of another EB by someone who recognised me... that makes 7 stores I am "not allowed in"inkwolf
Why would they not want to take your money?
Do you cause that much trouble?
no, it's called hiding the truth and hisy-fits. the DM passed down the "don't allow the former 1352 staff in the stores" and occasionally, I can slip into ones where I'm not known but this one is now off that list...Today I tormented Toys R Us employees today for their clearane items.
Valkyrie Profile PSP $19.99
Capcom Classics PSP $9.98
Gradius Collection PSP $9.98
Point Blank DS $9.98
Resident Evil DS $9.98
Rogue Trooper PS2 $9.98
2 copies of Steambot Chronicles PS2 $9.98

It got rainbow six vegas for Christmas. My wife bought it off amazon for $60 and of course today it went on sale at Game crazy for $39.99. This further cements my foolish idea of getting games from family.

Holiday Sweep Day 4:
I found a couple of neat/cheap things today, but so far, this trip isn't yielding the bountiful game harvest that last year did.

LOL! Yeah, I only recently discovered this when I looked into who the characters were in the "Blocks Club Portable with Bumpy Trot" demo I have for the PSP. By the way, it's a fun little demo, I've been playing it alot recently. Its been making me want to import the full game.

I managed to visit a dedicated vintage game store today, not just pawn shops and Gamestops and I found some decent stuff, to whit:
I found a copy of MvC2 on Xbox today, but it was disc only and $60, so I left it. Tomorrow I hit the first of the two big vintage stores on my circuit; the one I visit tomorrow sometimes has Neo Geo carts in stock, b/c last year I bought Riding Hero there.

Holiday Sweep Day 6
I hit the first "big" vintage store today and it was kind of a bust. Last year they were swimming in cool stuff, with some 3DO games that I'd never seen in person, a pair of Neo Geo carts, and some Jaguar stuff. This year, the best stuff they had was a Japanese version of Panzer Dragoon II, a boxed Phantasy Star, and about 10 complete NES games. Those were impressive, as they had nice copies of Contra, Final Fantasy, and Metroid, but they were priced at eBay levels, so they stayed. Here's what I did get:
I managed to find some OK deals at the used book/CD/video/etc. store that I visited, though:
They also had some strat guides worth getting, chief among them was Xenogears, well-read but intact for $6, which I snagged.
EDIT: Lethal Enforcers I & II added to both the GS database and the lightgun game guide
EB had a 50% everything sale so I picked up a thing or two
Mario and Luigi partners in time DS
Xploder NDS
Dragon Quest 8 guide PS2
