Hey guys, just won two Ebay Auctions, first one is 10 Sega Mega Drive II (Genesis) games;

1 - Wonder Boy In Monster World, no manual

2 - Alex Kidd, no manual

3 - PocaHontas, no manual

4 - Spiderman, no manual

5 - World of Illusion (with mickey mouse & donald duck),+ manual

6 - Earth Worm Jim, + manual

7 - Toy Story, + manual

8 - Rock N Roll Racing, no manual

9 - Columns, no manual

10 - Toe Jam & Earl, + manual

Some of these are in plain black cases, this lot came to $57.05 incl shipping.

Next lot is just one N64 game,

Rayman 2 The Great Escape, condition is ok, a sticker has been pulled off the front on the label and it comes cart only.

This cost me $13.67

I might sell some of the SMD games, not sure yet. I already have Toy Story but with no Case and Manual so might just keep that. Are any of those any good? :)

Those megadrive games are awesome, and not a sport title to be seen :p I have a feeling Rock N Roll Racing might be worth a fare bit as the SNES version goes for up to $60 complete, but over all that's a pretty good price for such games.  I always get blown away by the detailed graphics on Toy Story for the Mega drive, If you got doubles just sell em on ebay, although most Mega drive games are not worth that much.

I see that overnight, some awesome posts were made here. Nice pickups all! I swear it's definitely Bargain Hunting season =P

I stopped by the flea market near my store, and got a replacement copy for Virtua Fighter. The one I bought yesterday was broken...literally. It was cracked in half, I found out because when I took it out it was nearly in two pieces. It was a perfect snap xD put them together and you wouldn't have noticed the crack.

Anyway, the guy at the flea market gave me a replacement copy (for free of course, hey he knows I'm a regular customer now ), and I tried seeing if he had another copy of Jump Superstars (for waffle) but it turns out he sold it soon after I left yesterday. I'll keep a lookout for another copy for him. I'm sure Greg (the guy at the flea market) will come across another copy. I looked through the games again and picked up 7 Sega Saturn games for $10 total (all disk only):

Last Bronx

Astal

Area 51

Battle Stations

Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood angels

Machine Head

Duke Nukem 3D

This is kind of an embarrassment of riches type thing.  But anyway I tipped of CG to the store I went to on Thursday and in turn she tipped me off that they had more stuff.  Anyway, they recognized me from last time and took me to the back fo the store to show me everything they had available.

57 PS1 games @ 3.54

4 N64 games @ 3.75

Legend of Gaia $6.50

2 Saturn Games @ $3.25

42 Dreamcast games @ $5.45

a saturn arcade controller for free (mint in box)

a neo geo pocket game for free.  Total damage 107 games for $494.57 including tax.

I know baseball season is starting soon, but I think Aspro "hit the proverbial Grand slam and won the World Series" all in one, with that lot.

God I swear you guys and this forum are making my wallet lose! Taking advantage of Play-asia's 20% off sale (if you didn't know...well now you do!) I bought Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Justice for All for AU$33.46 Total :D You guys are going to make me get into trouble from my parents :P $100 in less than a day

EDIT: In other news I just found my Kirby's Dream Land cartridge for GB that I thought I lost...it was in my sisters room, she must of hidden it (she is evil).

Good to see someone taking advanateg of that deal ;) $26.22 USD - seems like you got a great deal off that. :) (wish I had KDL *Sniff*)

We collecors kinda rub off on each other - we spend, yes, but we spend on those deals often. ;)

Well, it was one of those once in a lifetime hauls.  It's not that big of a deal really -- doesn't amorphe pull off heists like these like once a month?

In terms of an intervention, even though my spending is well in alignment with what I budget for gaming, I have had Mrs. Aspro change my amazon and ebay passwords for a while.  I also intend to slow down on new games until I can at least play more of my current games.

I kept staring at theNeon Genesis Evangelion n64, game you got. ;-; Me wants that game. My gf would love that game. Is that a Japanese version of the game, or was it ever released here? Have fun with your new games. :) You'll be busy for a long while. xD

[QUOTE="inkwolf"]Half of me wants to applaud aspro for making another great game haul in such short time.... the other half of me thinks we should maybe start an intervention.... just kidding. GAMECAMILLER

:) You'll be busy for a long while. xD

It is Japanese release only and is one of my favorites out of the new pick-up. It has the best graphics I have seen of any N64 game and is fun as well. I am going back today to get some more Japanese imports from the same place (since I have to go to the dentist anyway).

I know aspro, I would have probably done the same actually.  And just in case you thought to the contraty I wasn't serious about the intervention, I'm sure you know how to manage your budget.  (In fact, I'll bet you're better at it than I am; which is why my wife handles our monies.)  I just had to make a little quip after seeing such an impressive set of purchases. :P

I do not have a modded N64, so I am guessing they are region free.

I know PAL games won't work on a domestic N64, but other than that, my knowledge on the subject is limited.

I picked up some decent stuff yesterday, and one great thing today.  Can you spot it?

  1. Kid Icarus, GB, n. mint, loose, $5.39
  2. Pocket Bomberman, GBC, v. fine, loose, $7.19
  3. Monster Rancher Battle Cart, GBC, fine, loose, $4.49
  4. Monster RAncher Explorer, GBC, v. fine, $4.49
  5. Trouballs, GBC, n. mint, loose, $2.69
  6. Final Fight Guy, SNES, ex-rental with small/medium front label damage, loose, $2
  7. Road Riot, SNES, n. mint, loose, $2

Well I know like any well-adjusted sane person you dig Final Fight so I am going to guess FFGuy.  But Trouballs is pretty uncommon too.

Went pawn shopping today over my lunch hour, ostensibly to find some trade fodder for aspro.  Came up empty on that front, but I did manage to grab a couple of things...

$30 for this lot-
-The Goonies II (NES); cart only
-RBI Baseball (NES); cart + sleeve, licensed version...may or may not be more uncommon than the unlicensed Tengen cart.  It won't show up in my collection either...only room for one RBI, I guess.
-Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (Xbox); complete.  Insert and manual are a bit haggard, but the disc looks good.
-The Legacy of Kain: Defiance (PS2); complete.  Excellent shape.

Then I went to a rental joint that buys and sells used games and found-

-Unreal Championship PH (Xbox); The box had some nicks in the plastic overlay, but everything else was mint.  $4.95.

You'd be right my friend. Here are the systems in the US that are region-free (thanks to Wiki):

  • 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
  • Game Boy and variant Game Boy Pocket
  • Game Boy Color
  • Game Boy Advance and variants Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro
  • Game Gear
  • Neo Geo
  • Neo Geo Pocket
  • Neo Geo Pocket Color
  • Nintendo DS/Nintendo DS Lite
  • PC Engine CD-ROM2/TurboGrafx CD

 BTW, awesome pickups Gmsnpr. ;)

Perhaps there's some kind of caveat that is keeping the PSP off of that region-free list, but I know I can play at least two imported Japanese PSP games on my American PSP.

I left these off the list because of the following reasons:

PSP (*)

PlayStation 3 (*)

(*) "While the PlayStation Portable is hyped to be region-free, regional lockout do exists to some extent in the console, and it's up to the producer of the game to implement it. For example, some have reported that the PSP release of Battlezone in some countries are region-locked. Likewise, UMD movies are region-locked. The Playstation 3 also has an optional region-lock that the producer of the game can choose to or not to implement. It will also honor the region-coding of Blu-Ray movies, DVD movies, and PSOne and PS2 games." -wiki

it's also the only good evangelion game... the rest were sorta poopy... it usually demands a pretty high price... which is why I hadn't gotten it yet....

you have to use a gameshark or action replay to play imports on N64... at least without a Japanese console... kick ass buys!

Picked up these for $13 total.  All complete (including registration cards etc), all in great condition.  If anyone can help me identify the three in the lower row on the right I'd appreciate it.

The ones I can identify are F-Zero X, Yoshi's Story, Zelda Majora's Mask, GASP and Super Robot Spirits.

As for whether they work, they all work fine on a non-modded N64.

In order from left to right:

Dual Heroes
Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh
Susume! Taisen Puzzle Dama

You'll have to get GameSpot to add that last one, I couldn't find it on Konami's list of N64 games here, or on GameFAQs either.

Nice job on imports, aspro!  Just like I thought, I am jealous. :)

(Edit: I was looking through the images GameSpot has for Bakuretsu, and it looks awesome.  Of course, it is a Treasure game after all ...)
