I bought a 12+1 month Live card and 1600 point card, then downloaded the first Mass Effect Expansion and ran through it as fast as my little hands could carry me.

Also, Daaaaaaaamn! Lots of good buying going on in the last few days around these parts. Makes me want to drop what I was doing and have a good old-fashioned game buying spree, but I think I've finally mined out everything local.

I just ordered a copy of The Red Star off of EB Games.com and I know not why. Oh well.BigC43

Why did you get The Red Star? 'Cause it's an awesome game! Why did you get it off of EBGames.com? I know not why either.

World Heroes Anthology - New/Sealed - 14.99 killeer2007

OK, which store did you get that from, because I've been looking for it in every single store that sells games near me for weeks! (Or mayhaps you ordered it online? I'm thinking thats how I'm gonna have to get it too.)

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney, $22, DS, Barely used

Now I got all 4 of the Ds games,,,time to beat them. :P

GAMECAMILLER

decent... it's nice to accomplish a goal.... especially a series completion.

In fact, I bought Gradius III and IV there just yesterday for 7.99 - edge discount.

Oh and I got my DS3, so now I rumble when I play the PS3! Woo-hoo!

duncanr2n

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (GBC) - cart and manual, good condition, £3.00-ish

And the totally awesome:

Heroes of Might and Magic: Complete Edition (PC) - PC World-exclusive boxed set (about the size of a small car), contains all five HOMM games and all expansions, making of DVD, 3 soundtrack CDs, t-shirt, poster/map, tarot cards and a swanky artbook. New for £24.99 (supposed to be £34.99 but I'm fantastic).

Aside from the usual glut of new gen games that I have picked up here or there in the last week,

I can proudly say that I FINALLY have a mint copy of Hotel Mario for Cdi, which can sit proudly beside Link: The Faces Of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon on the wall of CDi Shame.

Was also seconds away from getting a copy of Magic Knight Rayearth on eBay for Saturn (US Version) but sloppy bidding on my end say it slip away.

waflerevolution

I was so ashamed of my CD-i wall of shame that it had to go. How much Link FoE could you stand?

My original CD-i died about a day after I received it, so I like to think that it was Link FoE that actually killed it.

Now that I have a new unit I think the plan is to give it a try before the new GTA comes out, although I cannot imagine that the awkward CD-i controller will be that functional for the game LOL.

Is it really that bad?

Well, I went out with one thing in mind today, which was to grab as many of the NES games that no one would usually buy for themselves.... you know, fisher price, sesame street, etc. etc.... well, that didn't go to well, because most the games were in terrible condition.. not to surprising though considering the fact the previous owners of these games were probably just getting out of diapers!!! :P In my quest for the entire NES collection, I can not choose to skip the games that don't seem to appealing! So, there ya have it.... an answer for your questions before ya ask em! 8)

1. Earnest Evans (Gen)

2. Heavy Nova (Gen)

3. Midnight Resistance (Gen)

4. Mystic Defender (Gen)

5. Light Crusader (Gen)

6. Dynamite Duke (Gen)

7. Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! (Gen)

8. Jewel Master (Gen)

9. Combat Cars (Gen)

10. Generations Lost (Gen)

11. Toys (Gen)

12. X*PERTS (Gen)

13. Sesame Street: ABC (NES)

14. Sesame Street: 123 (NES)

15. Sesame Street: ABC & 123 FUN (NES)

16. The Great Waldo Search (NES)

Now I have to go on this site and actually add the games and my last list to my collection...

I downloaded Battlestar Galactica off of XBLA for 400 M$ points due to the sale today only.

Also, what is up with all of this negativity agains Gamestop/EB Games? My store actually does everything that we can to make our customers feel happy with their purchases. Maybe several of you had bad experiences at particular stores, which I have too. I really am not a fan of stores that were originally Gamestops, but don't judge an entire company based on a bad experience at one store. We are good at what we do, if you go to the right store...

the company itself has ruined the gaming industry.

and EB is gone. dead and buried. stop bunching it with Ganmestop, it just furthur ruins EBs once good name. it's all just Gamestop. even the few that still say EB are just another corperate clone gamestore with the same evil policies. it's true some stores work harder then others... the problem is 90% of us don't have anywhere else to buy games, why? because Gamestop buys anything that tries to compete... they even buy chains with only 2 or 3 stores. they don't want any compition because that'd force them to be reasonable and acctually try to please the customers and be fair to their employies.

I know you work for them, I did too. I'm sure you did your best just as I did to ease the customers and emloyies. but that's not ever going to be enough. walmart is just as agressive about expanding but at least they are slightly better to the customers and employies.

you can work for a company while hating it... that's not illegal... hell, most people hate their job.

the thing here is that you are never going to see anything wrong no matter what we say or show proof of... so I urge you to drop the conversation and ignore any future comments like "..." or anything like that. you are set in your mindset, we are set in ours.

congrats on BSG at the 400 point price.

Another weekend past,

Another series of odds and sods for the gaming wall.

Since I was on a bit of a CD-I kick as of late, I added Tetris, Mega Maze, Cartoon Carnival, Phantom Express, and Timewarp. All brand new in original plastic for five bucks each.

I came across some rather common Sega 32X titles that I should own, but didn't (Yes I am a MEGA nerd carrying around my collection on a spreadsheet in my Blackberry) and added Metal Head and Space Harrier box and book as part of a 2 for 20 deal.

Lost Vikings for Genesis, I have had a cart only copy for years but finally found a complete version for three bucks.

Then a few SMS games off of eBay, Cloud Master, Parlour Games and Time Soldiers.

Then I finally caved an added Rock Band for 360 (Girlfriend influenced) which ain't half bad.

These weren't the "cool" swag I referenced earlier. To be honest, I'd forgotten about these little guys. Came today from eBay for a total of 9 pounds (the currency, not the weight).

What did they do with the booklet for MGS? Same thing as the PS1 release? I've been curious.

Then I finally caved an added Rock Band for 360 (Girlfriend influenced) which ain't half bad.

waflerevolution

nice stuff, where you buying from?

The CD-I and the SMS stuff I had to go the eBay route,

The balance I lucked out by coming across a classic gaming store that has been around since the NES days and they pretty well buy and sell games for nearly every consoles except for the really odd ball stuff, so I was able to score the 32X and Genesis stuff from there,

But its really hit and miss, some weeks its got a good haul others its meh.

How much Link FoE could you stand?

My original CD-i died about a day after I received it, so I like to think that it was Link FoE that actually killed it.

Is it really that bad?

Link is voiced as a whiny punk and the gameplay kinda stunk. My CD-i died with that disc in the tray also. Dun, Dun, Dunh!!

I saw that for 19.99 at best buy and circut city.

I've got more to come. :) In the meantime, here are some of my less recent purchases, along with a bit of commentary.

Virtua Fighter 4 (PS2) (used, $4.49) (Evolution? Never heard of it.)
Summoner 2 (PS2) (used, $16.19) (Now with 50% more summoning. Or something.)
Star Defender 3 (PC) (new, $9.77) (I don't know what this game is. And apparently no one else does either.)
Sword of the New World: Granado Espada (PC) (new, $4.83) (Seems to be some kind of MMORPG.)
Okami (PS2) (new, $19.98) (Finally, a game you may actually care about!)

Now for some statistics that I find interesting, but you probably don't care about.

Only 3 people have Star Defender 3 in their GameSpot collections. That's me and two others. That makes it my least-owned game, narrowly beating out my free downloadable Windows and Linux games. This also means I will never find someone else who has played this game. Ever.

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada is the first game in my collection to score less than a 6.0 from GameSpot. It turns out GameSpot gave it a 4.0. I sure know how to pick 'em, don't I?

My games > your games.

LordAndrew

Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones (GC, Used, Complete $15)

Those comments were intended for my blog, which I simply copied into a forum post. Since they're blog-like in nature, I have removed them leaving just the necessary information.

I've got a question regarding MGS: The Essential Collection. How do you guys go about adding games like that to your collection? Do you add the compilation and the games included in it? Just the games? Just the compilation?

Interesting, a game so terrible the CD-I would rather melt down then play it :)

Links voice is odd, but I have to admit I like the viewing angle of the game.

In terms of bad voice acting, have you heard the voice of Mario in Hotel Mario?

Wow...

I added the compilation. If it's a compilation that isn't listed, such as the Limited Edition of Quake 4 with Quake 2 included, I'll add the games separately.
