Is tidus Emo

FS MEtal has been trying to tell everyone over the last few weeks that Tidus is emo. So does everyone agree. I think he is stupid. What does everyone think.

note im not trying to defend Tidus because hes my favourite character. He is far from it (its actually Yuna then CALOUD THEN AERIS THEN AURON, then delita etc.) i just dont like seeing him be slagged off

Tidus is very emo.Thats the reason I stopped playing FFX.

I don't think Tidus is emo(like Cloud), but he is a whiner.

I do think Cloud is emo though.

emo are the depressed the slit their wrist.

tidus is not of that. he is more of a funky happy guy.

He wasnt always moaning either. he was smiling when he saved Yuna at the marriage, when he taught her how to whistle, hell he didnt even look particularly upset when he disappeared. Just becuase 4 is your fave in the series it doesnt mean you should bash ffx at every oppurtunity. Tidus hated his dad and showed it, but he was still upset when he had to kill him. it was a love-hate relationship.

I have played this game through numerous times and when i think of Tidus it is of a happy guy, who gets peed off occassionally, hey what do you know hes human!

Emo simply means an incredibly emotional person, that and all the people modern culture defines as "emo" as well.

I don't play a game for a character that will whine every single moment.That's certainly not what defines a main character.And that sure as hell why I didnt buy FFX for in the first place.As I said before, I got tired of his nonstop bickering.That's why I stopped playing FFX.Hell, I think I might even play FFX-2 over X.

At the moment only two more people disagree with Tidus being emo.

With that said, the argument does hold ground, if it's not that much of a stretch.

No FF characters is emo, the people at Square didn't think "oh, we should make this character emo and whiny!' I mean, there isn't any FF character I know of that whined every single time! I'm not saying that Cloud or Tidus weren't whiny at times, but they weren't always whiny, I'm just guessing that people hate these characters so much that all they can remember are the moments where they were upset, and then use this as an excuse to say they were emo. I've played VII and X before multiple times, and I can remember sceneswhere theywere not whining. When they were whiny, it was mostly when they were upset and miserable, which is fine for Cloud or Tidus because a bunch of crap happens to them. And also both of them were able to get along with the peiople they traveld with, it took them a little while, but they did, and I don't think they would have been able to if they were whiny all the time.

Tidus doesn't even fit the description of emo so I don't know how you've come to the conclusion that Tidus is emo. I'm sure if you thought your dad hated you then you would be pretty upset too, yeah?;)

I completely agree. They are not "emo", they are simply emotional. Being emotional doesn't make someone emo. If that is the case, we are all emo. And yes, people will probably say, "well I'm not emotional." Well yes, you are. Everyone is emotional, some just hide it better than others.

This is sickening really, and im begining to think that most poeple here or a bunch of teenage kids.

Emo is a genre that some stupid idiots decided to creat to classify there particular genre of music and from that it has spawned into chracter and fassion genres, its very pathetic to be honest that people choose to include this logic into there heads......

But do u know who doesnt include this logic? the 30 year old plus writters that conjure up the stories for final fantasies, just because someone has characteristics similar to ones like tidus or cloud DOES NOT MAKE THEM EMO! this is some stupid copout that 15 years old decide to use to explain a chracter that shows sensitivity, so he @#$%^& whines sometimes, who cares. So what? is terra, celes and locke emo as well? how bout cecil, and his love rose? or maybee steiner? when he gets to the point in ff9 where he is all depressed and such? And vincent, because what? hes "dark"

yes, you are right. I've said many times bafore that Square would not intentionally make a character....."emo".....but certain people just wouldn't listen...and the so called "emo" genre does not fit into FF at all...and yes, many FF characters do complain, just some a little more than others, nothing big really.
