"There you are!" Terra called as she walked into the room where everyone else was.
"Remember, don't say anything about the healing." Jessi whispered to her. Still gotta keep this a secret, doesn't matter if we're in space.
"Um..." Jessi wasn't sure why they needed the weapons, but she did so anyway. "I've got about forty arrows left. And um... The Keyblade, which it basically a sword shaped like a key..." Jessi wasn't sure if saying she also had Light Arrows would effect anything, but she didn't want to risk it.
"I can make weapons out of rock... And use rocks as weapons, just the same." Terra added.
Fortunately, Leon managed to find a Nailgun with 400 rounds in a storage crate. "Oh, yeah. Nothing like a gun that chops through flesh like chainsaw through butter."
Hefting the flechette rifle, he urged the team to follow him. "Let's move. We need to find a way to restore power to the ship so we wouldn't be playing hide and seek with certain death upon us."
Command Room
Runway awoke from sleep, and surveyed the area. Leon? Anyone? Hello?
What is it, commander. Jetstorm asked.
Team's gone...and we don't know why.
"Yeah, thanks so much for filling us in." Jessi rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Let me give it a try."
No one seemed to be paying attention. She shoved her shoulder into the door, but it didn't work.
Everyone headed down the corridor, leaving her behind. Even Terra followed them.
"Well then...." Jessi waited a moment, then used a tiny amount of Din's Fire to melt through the door. She ducked through the opening, and as she was inside she unlocked the door.
"Hey! Guys! I got it open!" She yelled as she pushed the door against the wall, and covered up the hole with some cloth.
This isn't like the Magical Cafe one, Pagg, it doesn't matter. It wasn't even CC, you were already heading down the corridor anyway.
"Who'd you get it open?" Terra whispered to her.
"I've had experience with this kind of thing." Jessi answered.
"You mean... You've dealt with locked doors?" Terra was confused.
"Yeah, you could say."
"Stay here." Leon ordered. With that, he hurried into the Armory level of the space station. Breathing heavily, he could sense they were near....
"Help me!!!" A scream echoed. Sprinting to the next door, Leon caught a glimpse of a marine being dragged into a door by a tentacle of some sort. Racing through the door, he viewed the soldier being mutilated and transformed just in time-by a massive bioform that could be described as the most putrid, disgusting and messed up creature one could describe.
It growled, and set it eyes on the cybernetic warrior. "A cyborg. Eh? Excellent."
It can...talk!?
Raising his Nailgun, he prepared himself. "I don't know who you are, but....I'll be sure to send you into the vacuums of space after this is over!"
Jessi raced in after the rest of the team.
"Hey! He said to stay here..." Terra mumbled.
"You actually expect me to listen to him?" Jessi rolled her eyes, and ran into the next door after them.
She was shocked by the disgusting creature inside, and shot a few arrows at it.
Preparing for assimilation. First target-the Cyborg human. The alien planned in its mastermind-level brain.
Leon unloaded over 100 Nails into the beast, but not even one managed to penetrate its thick skin. But he was actually walking into a trap-the parasitic alien deflected 2 nails, and one of them pierced his skin and struck his biological heart.
Screaming in pain, Leon fell over and into the Reactor Silo of the space station-with critical injuries inflicted, his vision began to blur. Fortunately, he managed to keep himself from falling by climbing onto a platform overlooking the reactor core.
"Systems failing...heart pulse rate critical." His AI warned.
Gasping for breaths, he realized it was all over....
Xane quickly shot a vine down and grabbed Leon, pulling him back to where they were. Â He shot a quick look at Jessi.
"We all know," Xane said, "Heal him. Now." Xane shot a blast of energy at the thing like a blade, but didn't make much but a cut. Â He started throwing real knives and swords from a weapons station behind them at top speed. Â These were a little more effective. Â Nails just weren't long enough.Â
"Jessi! Help him!" Terra yelled to her.
"Idiot, getting himself shot with his own weapon." Jessi mumbled, dodging whatever this alien was flinging at her.
Terra created a huge rock out of thin air, and sent in into the mutant. It seemed to hurt it, but just barely.
Jessi managed to make it over to Leon.
"Dammit. Alright, whatever." She mumbled under her breath. Terra made a rock, which protected Jessi from being attacked.
Jessi started healing Leon. She still had the slight chance he was unconscious and had no clue what was going on, right?
Doubt it.
Suddenly, Runway looked in the direction which led to the Core. He's in trouble.
Why? Jetstorm asked.
Whatever he tried to damage, it used the weapon against him and now he's on the verge of death.
We can't just sit here!
As they were about to move out, the door leading out of the Command Room locked shut-and the power died once again.
"I can't remove metal, dammit!" Jessi mumbled.
"So... You cna't do anything more?" Terra asked, now standing beside her.
"I could still heal him, but the metal would be stuck inside..."
"Would that effect anything?"
"He's half cyborg, I wouldn't know if it'd make a difference..."
"Not really..." Jessi mumbled.
"Hey! Let me try something." Terra jumped with an idea.
"What are you going to do?"
"Metal and rock are... alike? I don't know. But I might be able to get it out without too much of a problem." She looked at Leon for a second, then tried to lift the metal out of his heart. "I hope this doesn't hurt..." She mumbled, mostly under her breath.
The nail was removed, and Leon was able to restore himself to full functionality-albeit without proper speech.
"Life support systems online...targeting systems functional...armor status green." He spoke in a toneless voice.
Aw man. Now I know how it feels to be a failed cyborg. He thought in his still functional mind. Regardless, I need to get rid of this beast.
He picked up the Nailgun, reloaded it, and jumped into action.
Terra shot rocks continuously at the creature's head, and Jessi shot energy blasts from the Keyblade.
"Friggin' thing won't die!" Jessi mumbled, gritting her teeth as she jumped to dodge something thrown at her. From the air, she managed to aim for where it's heart would be, and it made some kind of moaning-like sound that made her cover her ears.
That's it! The creature doesn't protect its back since it believes no one can reach it!
He remembered there was a ventilation shaft that the creature covered-if he could get there, he could give the ugly thing a grenade, and turn the whole room into a new paint job.
Jessi continued dodging whatever was being throw at her, though she didn't have a chance of being hit. She hoped.
Terra seemed fine, she almost never had to dodge anything. Hell, she didn't even have to move, she just created a rock to send it back at the creature.
Just a little bit more.
Eventually, he reached the top-and not only that, he found the controls to eject this monstrosity into deep space via the waste disposal system.
Alright. Now if I can only get this freak's tentacles away from the core-he's choking the components, that's why there's no power available.
Suddenly the entire room turned into a giant blast of green goo. Â It was everywhere, on the walls, on the pipes, and completely coating everyone in the vacinity.
"...Why?..." Xane said, he quickly snatched the pipe from Axodus, stopped the water with energy, rescrewed it in, then let the water run freely.Â
