[QUOTE="Kreatzion"]I still don't know whether to get the PS3 or XBOX 360 version of this game. I'm planning on getting a PS3 soon but I already have an XBOX 360. Any advice?Kreatzion

Pick the one with the controller you like more. You will be using every single button, d-pad, everything. So make sure you like the controller you choose.

I guess I'll just buy the XBOX 360 version this weekend then if that's the only differences between the 2 versions.

Awesome news, DMC4 has shipped 2 million units worldwide, the fastest selling DMC game ever, it will surpass the first one very soon.

http://ir.capcom.co.jp/english/news/html/e080220.html

Capcom Co., Ltd.(Capcom) is pleased to announce that its multi-platform title "Devil May Cry 4" has shipped over two million units worldwide. "Devil May Cry 4" is currently available for PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360 home consoles.

dvader654

So the easiest DMC ever is the fastest selling DMC ever. If Capcom goes in the direction consumers are leading them DMC5 will be even easier than 4. I read at the GAF that the new Alone in the Dark allows people to skip over segments they find frustrating (or boring), a move Capcom might duplicate.

I can't blame Capcom for giving gamers what they want, but as a guy who appreciates getting his butt kicked by a game on ocassion (I don't expect or want every game to offer a DMC level of challenge) the franchise's new direction holds little appeal for me (I know higher difficulties can be unlocked down the line, but it isn't the same).

I think it has to do more with the game being multiformat than with it being easier than previous titles, bar DMC 2. IMO, it's much more ballanced than DMC 3, which ended up getting easier the closer you got to the end. And Dante must Die mode still kicks my butt.

I guess the success means I need to buy this game huh? If I like action/action-adventure games a WHOLE LOT (like my favorite genre; GoW, Ninja Gaiden, etc.) will I like Devil May Cry (have never played any)?

Very impressive numbers for DMC4, kudos to Capcom. Konami and Square-Enix should really take a look at what Capcom have been doing this generation and take a few notes since they have been doing quite well for themselves.

Anyway I really need to get back to playing DMC4 because it's a great game and I'm almost at the point of playing as Dante plus I really want to check out the harder modes and Bloody Palace. Lost Odyssey really has me hooked right now though.

Yeah you're mission out dude, do yourself a favor and pick up this game. It's more action oriented than GoW and NG.

Actually the PS3 version has that too. Everytime I log on to the the game it shows me how awesome Dvader is, and how much crap he has beaten, and every time Dvader logs in he looks at what I've accomplished and says "Wow rag sucks!"

Any way to turn that feature off so Dvader can't see how much you suck?

Sure, delete friend. Problem solved. :P

I swear, when I first logged in after adding dvader, it took 5 minutes for the game to list all of his exploits. I cried.

As for the difficulty of the game, I thought it was fine, and wasn't too different from DMC3:SE. (For the record, DMC2 is super-easy, as standing in one place and just firing your guns is often enough to kill most bosses without getting touched.) I think that if they make SOS unlocked from the start, and give you achievements for lower modes if you finish a higher one, then all will be fine.

These are the two enemies I hate fighting the most: -Frost -Blitz Frosts are annoying in groups, and Blitzes are just crazy.

Good luck for those trying to beat level 99 of Bloody Palace as there's 44 Alto Angelos in that stage :o I think its best beating DMC4 in DMD mode in order to have unlimited devil trigger.

Actually...its not really that hard. Its exhausting. I got to the two Blitzes and just couldn't follow them anymore...I was tired:lol: That was stage 85 and it was my first try real try on it. The bosses seem a bit more aggressive. Like Berial was doing his AOE for kicks lol. Its not hard...just long. But its not really too bad. Its easy to regain life with Devil trigger. And bosses always give you a full one.

And I don't think that would be too difficult either...the 44 atlo's and 2 champion ones lol. Mainly because they had one earlier were they were twelve or something...the champion one kept telling his 3 hes controlling to sucide attack at me lol. He got a new 3...same thing. It wasn't bad at all lol. 44 just seems more like its gonna take longer then anything else lol

The only thing about Bloody Palace is that I'd wish you could save every 20 or so stages, having to start from the beginning is a pain...

Also some of the secret missions are insane, there goes my chances of getting a full health bar, I'm only 2 bars away from getting it. *Goes back to play SoS mode*

I think it would have been a great idea to be able to play any of the stages that you have already completed. Level 90 was personally one of my favorite stages because it featured a large amount of DMD normal and mega Scarecrows. Enemies have a great deal of health and aren't that tough, I think it would be a great place to practice some creative combos.

Those secret missions are pretty ridiculous though. I only have two left, but that's 3 and... I think 8: "Get style rank up without attacks" and "Royal Guard 5 times". Right now, I don't think it's worth it.

How hard is Demon Slayer compared to human?rmlr435

Enemies have slightly more health and that's about it. I personally wouldn't recommend playing through Human for your first playthrough as it is far too easy, and it would kind of hamper the experience.

So I finally bought DMC4 for the XBOX 360. I have to say I'm actually liking it. I beat the first DMC and I played bits and pieces of DMC3 and I wasn't really impressed by the gameplay too much but for some reason I'm liking this one. I'm not too far into the game but I'm glad I was convinced to get this game.

Yeah I found Blitz to be a pretty crazy enemy and the shark type enemy tend to annoy me when I'm playing as Dante, thank god there are so few of them.

I love the different Buster attacks that you can pull off depending on the enemy type you do it to and if your Devil Trigger is active or not. Some of them are very cool especially on the bosses.

Dez I just wanted to ask how did you get such a high score to be in the top 10 of some of the rankings, incredible!

Thank you. Honestly, I was completely surprised when I got the score that I did (I think it was Mission 6 SOS). The thing about scoring well on that stage comes from the board game. Instead of purposely avoiding the red and purple spots like I normally did, I engage in as much combat as I could. I didn't realize you fight bosses on purple spots either. It gave me an incredible boost in score.

You're probably aware of the necessary points needed for S ranking missions, including time, style and orbs. Most missions give you a generous 20 minutes to S-rank in time, which allows for plenty of time to earn points and orbs. I found out about it on the 360 DMC4 board (stickied at the top). It has really helped me out, and I don't feel pressured for time like I did for three.

I checked your Bloody Palace score, did you make it to level 80 with Dante. That's really awesome if you did. I got to around 40 with Dante, but I take too long and usually run out of time. I swear, Nero's charge shot feels like cheating... almost. :P It has literally become my crutch in the game.

Argh getting S rankings are a pain in the ass! I seem to always get the time correctly but when it comes to orb collecting and style, I always get an A. I've been trying to get an S ranking in stage 2 for about 2 hours now and its just plain frustrating. This is DMC for you.

I noticed that your s tylish pts and orbs weigh in more than your time in your rating score. I'm taking a break from this game and play something else for now. If anyone's curious, about what's your time/ s tyle pts needed for certain difficulty to achieve an S,A,B,C rank let me know. I just bough the guide yesterday that has this chart, and it has some info on it. You guys noticed that Dante can triple jump while he's on Devil trigger mode.

I just got back into DMC after a break for a couple of weeks, and I must say, getting S in Human is really hard in stages without bosses. It's just hard to get a combo going when things die so fast; my list is mostly A's except for a few S's, plus B's on some missions I just dislike from a scoring standpoint. Granted, my DMC skills probably make S's rather hard for any difficulty level regardless. On the plus side, I just have two side missions to go to get my full health bar. The Royal Guard one is a side mission I will never attempt again out of principle.
