I have a sense of humor. Implied meaning is not understood as easily via text as it is in person, on video, and with audio. As I said earlier, if you have an issue with a series such as Metal Gear Solid which has the same themes throughout the entire series, send a message with your purchasing power. I say that because it will probably be more effective than complaining about the series during the development of the fifth entry. If you have a problem with the entire video gaming industry's objectification of women, speaking about it in a thread specifically made for that might get your message across more of the internet than doing so in this thread which is about the fifth entry of a successful series.BranKetra

I don't know how you can take everything I've said in context and think that I have a problem with the MGS series.  I'm not really waging a campaign here, just participating in the discussion in the manner that I usually do.  I will always be vocal about issues of importance to me in the venues that I like to participate in.  You never know who might be reading.

Whether you post in this thread or make your own is your choice because this site has been designed that way. I was just giving some advice because I would personally rather read about an issue like this in its own thread (if on the GS forums) because it seems to be a widespread issue worth the full attention of some. That might be why Kojima-san says he is making Quiet Sniper.

What do you mean? You have been saying you take issue with the objectification of women in video games and Metal Gear Solid is a series which has done so to a certain extent, so unless I am mistaken that means you have an issue with Metal Gear Solid. It is just not an issue preventing you from enjoying the series.

There have been an abundance of threads here dealing with sexism and similar issues but they usually always digress rather quickly and get locked, so I'm not sure how useful it would be to start another one.

As I said previously in reply to one of your earlier comments, I think MGS is one of the better series in that regard (not referring to MGS 5 as it hasn't been released yet).  Boss, for example, is sexy but I wouldn't consider her objectified when her character is taken in context.  Most of the male characters also wear tight, form-fitting uniforms, so I think the overall style is more equitable across genders.  Then there is the undercurrent of homoeroticism that you seem to have a hard time with.  I do have an issue with the objectification of women in video games, but not all female characters in games are objectified.  Quiet certainly does fit the type of image that I consider to be an objectified woman, so that's a disappointment relative to MGS.
