While I am one of the 2 people in the universe who thinks the newer kinect and all the menu navigation stuff and possibilities for new gameplay going forward are cool looking, I must admit I would have preferred to have been paying that extra money for more powerful hardware for instance. By the time you factor paying in for a year of xbox live and your first game you have enough money to buy a very strong PC. But godamn Dead Rising 3 looks awesome.GodModeEnabled

Speaking of high end PC's...Just saw BF4 running on a high end PC...visually the console versions do not nearly look as good!

Never's a long time. I believe the controller will remain the primary input device beyond this generation, but I think there's room for a device like kinect to add to the experience- it just takes the right group of people to hit on the right idea. It doesn't even need to change the way a game plays- it just need to add an extra layer of interactivity- take GTA for example: Kinect support doesn't need to be standing in front of your tv and leaning, hopping, waving your arms and shooting your finger at the screen- how about putting your toon in his default stance when your hands are in your lap(like when you're holding the controller), but mapping your own movements beyond that onto the character directly when you do anything else? Either to be more expressive when you're just hanging out with your friends online, or in single player to have NPCs recognize and react to certain gestures(for instance, I can think of at least 3 different gestures that are tantamount to "F*ck you!" that could piss of NPCs and cause them to try and fight with you, or you can swing an open hand to smack an underling or a whore, or a number of other things). I guess what I'm getting at here is that people are under the impression that motion control is an all or nothing affair. It doesn't need to be- in fact, games like ME3 that use the device in a very limited way should be the model- not games like the Gunstringer which limit(read: dumb down) gameplay due to the limitations of a hands-off interface.Grammaton-Cleric

I completely agree with you that we should never, entirely, close the door on possibilities.

My frustration is that I really wish MS would have given me the option of deciding if I wanted to support the device immediately or, at the very least, not tried to shoehorn the cost of the device into the unit.

But I appreciate your speculative optimism and if such advances come to fruition, you can say "I Told You So."

And I wouldn't even hold it against you. ;)

Don't think I won't remember that :D

It's a case of "in order for it to be something cool, we have to force it on you". Think of having to have Kinect as having to eat your broccoli; it'll have benefits down the road.

Personally, I'm more excited to see all the great things getting done with SmartGlass, but I'm glad to be getting Kinect.
