I think one of the hardest videogames to beat or play is kingdom under fire heroes, it is a hard game...... What do you think is the hardest videogame to beat?????
Short of those obscure foreign games with utterly insane difficulty levels, I found Viewtiful Joe pretty hard...I haven't found any games particularly difficult, though...
I think the most frustrating game was Mafia during the race, because it kept bugging out and making the car flip over while on a straight away at the very end of the race.Â
Fatal Frame (aka Project Zero and Zero) for me. What a stupid game that was. I was actually scared at the beginning but after a little while it just wasn't scary at all anymore, it just got, well...stupid -- There was only frustration to be found, and the girl got pretty annoying too.
The only video game I wasn't able to finish due to its difficulty, I also ran out of film, I was quite close at the end though. Still, there was a Happy Ending: I was able to sell the game at a nice price!
Also, I played "Breakdown" and the 'Normal Mode' was already hard enough. I really liked the game, it had a unique concept to it, interesting story etc...but that was quite hard; I did finish it.
Of those I've played, I would say DMC3. Which I still haven't gotten around to beating yet, partially because of the difficulty and partially because I have video game ADD.
Well considering the game really does get hard towards the later stages around 60 I believe.When every shot has to be right on or you lose it does get pretty stressful. And once you reach the stage where the ducks turn invisible on you just put down the Zapper and go home. Duck Hunt is my vote for hardest game as well.
viewtiful joe on GC, got to the bit where you fight all the bosses in succesion and just couldnt beat it. also final fantasy 3 on DS, the final dungeon is just stupid, is like 3 hours long and since you cant save when you get the final final area its just way too hard!

I gotta agree. I felt like I accomplished World Peace when I beat that game. That end segment where you fight all the bosses back-to-back was pure hell.
i dont know about the hardest game ever but i've been going on a sort of retro binge recently and i cant seem to beat any games on the NES. ninja gaiden was mentioned already, thats a really hard game. the mega man games are also pissing me off. i dont know if i suck or what, but i'm usually really good at games. i started gaming in the 16 bit era so i dont know if thats the problem.
Of the one's I remember playing right now, I'd say Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) on Very Hard (the original, not Black). And I'm probably in for a whopper with its NES form on the VC. Also have DMC3: SE, which, even though it's not the original, will probably give me hell. I'm already having trouble on... stage 2, I think. I don't like the controls. I want the sword on square like with any sane game!
God of War 2 on Titan Mode. I recently managed to finish it on Titan Mode and it was one of the hardest things i've ever done in a game. Once i also thought that Viewtiful Joe was insanely hard, but then something switched/flipped and i breezed through and even managed to beat Ultra V-Rated mode. Also, Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die is pretty insane. I cleared the first level, then i just quit :P.
You almost have to divide this question into two groups: The Pre-Playstion era and everything after the Playstation. I think it's a pretty well established fact that on average games are much easier today than 15 years ago.
I'm hard pressed to think of a harder game than the original Ghosts n' Goblins. Maybe Milon's Secret Castle. And as far as modern games go, DMC 3 was pretty rough.
