Off the top of my head...Leodis McKelvin?
He slipped my mind. :?Browns DB arrested in Texas
Cleveland Browns cornerback Kenny Wright was arrested on Thursday after an altercation with police.
At approximately 11:33 a.m., officers were investigating a disturbance in a parking lot of the Pearland Police Department, according to a press release.
Wright, 30, is being charged with Unlawful Restraint, Evading Arrest Fleeing and Possession of Marijuana. He had 1.875 ounces of marijuana in his vehicle, according to the press release.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Wright signed a three-year contract with the Browns before the 2007 season. He had six tackles in limited action as a backup cornerback in 2007.
Dopehead got wut was comin to him... That's probably why I've never heard of him...
But then again, it may have been someone else's or something. I hope so, just to give the NFL a bettter image.

Redskins make first offseason move, sign Texans' WR/KR Mathis
The Washington Redskins added a free agent for the first time this offseason Friday, signing receiver and former Pro Bowl kick returner Jerome Mathis.
Mathis made the Pro Bowl as a returner with the Houston Texans in 2005, but he was injured for most of the last two seasons. He became a free agent this year when the Texans opted not to make him a qualifying offer at the end of the season. (Mathis has had two recent run-ins with the law.)
The 24-year-old Mathis broke the NCAA record for career kickoff return average at Hampton, averaging 26.6 yards. He also holds the NCAA record for career kickoff returns for a touchdown with six. LINK
Patriots sign former Jets LB Hobson
The Patriots reached agreement with former Jets linebacker Victor Hobson on a one-year deal, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.
Hobson started 14 games for the Jets in 2007, registering 62 total tackles and two sacks. Hobson's best season was 2006, when the linebacker had 100 total tackles, six sacks and an interception.

Well, evidently, he was the one who returned a 95 yarder against the Ravens as a huge play. I almost forgot about that. I had him as ap layer of the week just for that play. The news reminded me. For once, the local news actually was useful to me.
Top backs not fitting into NFL mold
Lack of pro-styIe offenses makes evaluation harder
The top four running backs in the upcoming NFL draft have something in common - none of them plays in a traditional pro-styIe running game.
At Arkansas, Darren McFadden and Felix Jones were used in a system that utilized both halfbacks together frequently. McFadden would sometimes take a direct snap and either hand off or run himself.
Rashard Mendenhall was used in the option at Illinois, and he rarely ran behind a fullback.
Oregon ran a similar offense with Jonathan Stewart, spreading the field and attacking the edges of the defense with the running game.
So for NFL teams, evaluating these prospects is slightly more difficult than evaluating running backs like Adrian Peterson, for example. Peterson played in a more traditional offense at Oklahoma, running between the tackles more frequently.
The margin for error in evaluations always increases when projections are involved, and there is some projection involved with McFadden, Jones, Mendenhall and Stewart.
"It does cause some problems," one AFC general manager said. "They're running sideways a lot, not playing downhill as much as they will in the NFL."
Colts President Bill Polian points out running backs in such systems eventually do everything NFL teams are looking for them to do -- they just don't do them as frequently as some other backs.
So for scouts, it might mean more work.
"You have to watch a little more tape with these guys," the general manager said. "You might see them run from an I formation with a fullback five times a game instead of 25 times, so you have fewer opportunities to see how well he does what you're looking for." --Chicago Tribune

that is going to be an intense game because like you said whenever those two get together it always is

:(Bengals sign WR Doug Gabriel
In response to the release of Chris Henry and the dwindling receiver corps, the Bengals signed free-agent wide receiver Doug Gabriel to a one-year contract.
With 101 catches, Gabriel becomes the team's most experienced WR behind T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson. Antonio Chatman, heading into his sixth season, has 93 career catches.
He didn't play last season after the Raiders released him following training camp. In that last season of '06, he had 30 catches for 428 yards and 3 TDs for Oakland and New England. He had a touchdown and 4 catches for 57 yards against the Bengals in one of his five Patriots starts before New England cut him late in the year and the Raiders claimed him on waivers.
Gabriel, a fifth-round pick of the Raiders out of Central Florida, had his best year in Oakland in '05 with 37 catches for 554 yards at 15 yards per catch and three touchdowns. --Bengals.com

Well the Saints first season was in 1967 and didn't have a winning season until 1987, they did have 2 seasons of 8-8 ball before that.
Also, Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughn Johnson, and Pat Swilling made the Pro Bowl in 1992, yes, that's 4 linebackers from the same team.

Steelers' Davenport found not guilty of domestic violence
CLEVELAND -- A jury of five women and three men acquitted Steelers backup tailback Najeh Davenport of three misdemeanor charges late today.
Mr. Davenport, 29, had been charged with three misdemeanors -- domestic violence, child endangering and unlawful restraint -- in an Oct. 4 incident off Cleveland's 115th Street involving Anita Person, the mother of their 5-year-old son, Najeh Davenport Jr.
"I think the truth and my lawyer played a big impact in the outcome," Mr. Davenport said as his only comment as he left the Justice Center.
Mr. Davenport spent one hour, 33 minutes on the stand this morning testifying on his own behalf, saying, among other things, that Ms. Person jumped through an open rear passenger-side door into his moving SUV and wound up sitting atop his 2-year-old son, Ali, in his car seat in the middle of the backseat. He added that, after pushing her hip and moving her off Ali, he stopped the vehicle and she got out clutching Najeh Jr.
He said she fell to the ground -- witnesses earlier testified they saw him standing above Ms. Person -- while the two parents where having a "tug of war" over Najeh Jr., part of their fight over custody.
He denied punching her, choking her and throwing her to the ground, as she testified earlier, and also stated that he never assaulted her or caused the swollen lower lip that Najeh Jr. sustained that night. "I grabbed my son" around the waist during the fracas, Mr. Davenport said on the stand, adding that he planned to use both of his sons in a then-upcoming Steelers' charity fashion show. "That's why I came."
He said Ms. Person screamed throughout, asking neighbors and onlookers to "call the police" and that Najeh Jr. complained to her that she was hurting him during the tussle. The boy later visited his father in the patrol car in which Mr. Davenport sat while police interviewed him.
After an investigation, Mr. Davenport was eventually charged. Misdemeanor trials in Cleveland are heard by eight-member juries.
Jets agree to five-year, $33.5M extension with Rhodes
The New York Jets locked up a key member of their defensive secondary on Wednesday, agreeing to a five-year contract extension with safety Kerry Rhodes.
The extension is worth $33.5 million, including $20 million in guaranteed money, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter. Rhodes had one year remaining on his contract.
Rhodes has been a starter for the Jets since he was chosen in the fourth round (123rd overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games for the third consecutive season in 2007, recording 67 total tackles and setting career-bests in passes defended (10) and interceptions (5).
In three NFL seasons, Rhodes has 270 total tackles, 24 passes defended and 10 interceptions.
Six Prospects will attend NFL Draft
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that six prospects will be present: Virginia DE Chris Long, Michigan OT Jake Long, Boston College QB Matt Ryan, Ohio State LB/DE Vernon Gholston, LSU DT Glenn Dorsey, and Arkansas RB Darren McFadden.
Of those, the guy most likely to slide is Ryan. There previously was a belief that Dorsey would slide, but he has managed to address concerns regarding his health, and he is still expected to be a top-five pick.

lol if Gholston has to wait as long in the real draft as we made him in the mock.
I'd be curious as to how Jake Long and Gholston have it together... I still remember how many times Gholston pwned Long on that cold, rainy, November day...detroitpistons0
Gholston only got 1 sack on him, I don't know about the running game, but that's not bad.

Cowboys considerably closer to deal for Pacman Jones
The on-and-off trade talks between Dallas and Tennessee are on again, in a big way.
The Cowboys and Titans spent Saturday going back and forth on proposals, getting considerably closer to a trade that would send talented, but troubled, cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones to Dallas.
One person familiar with the talks said they were nearing a deal, but it was not done yet. However, it now sounds as if it could be done this week, well before the April 26-27 draft.
Just last week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said talks were at a standstill, but those talks were quickly jumpstarted over the weekend with a series of phone calls between the two teams.
Dallas had been offering one of their two sixth-round picks.
Tennessee has been holding out, refusing to budge for anything less than a fourth-round pick. Plus, Dallas wanted to attach conditions to the trade in which it could receive a draft pick back from Tennessee if Jones got into more trouble in his new city.
Now, the two sides are nearing compromise. The deal could be completed by Tuesday, which also happens to be the time that Jones' agent, Manny Arora, said Jones plans to apply for reinstatement to the NFL. It was one year ago this past week that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones.
Goodell plans to review whether to reinstate Jones shortly before training camp, however Arora is likely to push for an even quicker decision.
Should the trade become official, it would not change Dallas' draft strategy in any way. The Cowboys would proceed as if they did not have Jones, as if they still had a need at cornerback, knowing they could not count on Jones to be reinstated.
Taking WR early is gamble
Wide receiver is usually one of the deepest positions in the draft, and also one of the hardest to project.
Several receivers will be taken in the first round this year, but disappointing high picks like Ted Ginn Jr. (#9 overall in '07), Troy Williamson (#7 in '05), Mike Williams (#10 in '05). Charles Rogers (#2, '03) and David Terrell (#8, '01), among others, have forced teams to rethink the value of taking wideouts too early.
"It has the biggest mortality rate of any position percentage-wise," Gil Brandt, the former Dallas personnel executive and current NFL.com analyst, said at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. "It's a very hard position to learn. Second-hardest other than being a quarterback. So buyer beware." STORY
I was listening to ESPN radio "the Herd" today and he was talking about how it is a great move for Miami to PASS the #1 pick in the draft!! The reason this is possible is because #1 picks are garuanteed so much money and the Dolphins have a lot of holes to fill. Also, there is no real crazy differencemaking standout.
I found a Florida article adding more to this. LINK

Meh Parker isn't really that great. But still a good signing, but I don't think he'd do much more with the Broncos than with the Chiefs.
Chargers' ILB Cooper facing a 4-game suspension
Starting inside linebacker Stephen Cooper faces a four-game suspension because of a positive drug test, sources confirmed Tuesday.
Neither Cooper nor his agent was immediately available for comment, but several sources said Cooper tested positive for illicit drugs. The drugs were not performance-enhancing, the sources said.
"It's a league matter," General Manager A.J. Smith said, declining to confirm or deny the positive test.
According to sources, Cooper has appealed the suspension. But numerous people familiar with the situation said Cooper is expected to miss the season's first four games. --San Diego Union-Tribune
