Me too! March 31st here we come! Have you seen the trailer for it? The only problem I had with last years game was that there was no master league and the defensive controls were a bit iffy but now they've fixed both these problems! What if I have little interest in buying it, the game just doesn't really appeal to me?
Oh wait, I'm supposed to like the games everyone else likes ... and not like something that isn't termed `hardcore'.
Frankly, I'm looking forward to PES 09.

Overall, the control scheme [for me] re-invented such games.
I'm hoping for a good online mode ... as I beat '08 and still play it some. It's the first time I'm thrilled to buy the next year's version - as I can guess it'll cost me under $0.10 per hour played once I put in my time.
You should buy what you want. I don't have a problem with that, this is more for those upset all the time we don't have more games like Madworld. What if I have little interest in buying it, the game just doesn't really appeal to me?

It has some work to do since FIFA stole it's thunder and control method.

Hopefully they've used the 5 months between the PS3/Xbox release and the Wii one to improve. Given it's version2 of this method ... I've got some hope. [I trust those who innovated in the first place to not be copying last year 100%]

I disagree 100% with this statement. This same statement has been repeated when Medal of Honor, No More Heroes, and every other 'M' rated game came out for the Wii... yet here we are in 2009 getting another 'M' rated game, followed up with The Conduit and other games getting a Wii release like Dead Space... I don't see why madworld has to sell anything for the Wii to keep getting 'M' rated support... now if all of these games tank, then maybe you have a point.[QUOTE="TheNextOrder"]I disagree 100% with this statement. thank you for saying this now I dont have to type it all out TC dont threaten us to get games my plan is to rent it first to see if it is any good then I will maybe buy it. Honestly though I am a little wary of this game it seems like it will become really repetative really fast because all you do is kill guys and that appears to be it.
[QUOTE="Raiko101"]What if Madworld is just shovelware for adult gamers?fbigent34yea right the company who use to work for capcom and got closed down would even bother making shvelware crap? give me a break that shouldn't even be in the same sentece.Well it's being aimed at a market full of whinging gamers. I mean they want adult themes, voilence and hardcore gameplay. Just like they've been playing on other consoles for the past 5 years. I mean why put any effort into it?
The excessive shovelware on the wii will never stop.
I'm buying MadWorld though. Looks fun. This will be my first wii purchase in a year. Literally. Last game I bought was brawl and that was a waste of $50.
I really don't care how it scores.
It is original, violent and bloody, and you got a chain saw built into your arm.
The only reason games like Deadly Creatures and Mushroom Men scored low is because they where too short.
If Madworld is decently long, it will achieve AAA status.
If this game sells big time, some one may decide to publish Winter (Survival Horror Game with emphasis on survival rather than combat) for Wii.
This along with the Conduit and No More Heroes 2 will bring in "Quality" Hardcore Games.

It's a mini game collection
Why does everyone leave out that it's a mini game collection?

None of the games I mentioned above are Mini-game collections.

Because that is a loose generalization of the gameplay. Minigame collections are typified by being prompted, via core menu, about which minigame you would like to play. You then play it, achieve a high score, and then move on. Very rarely do they have a point beyond this, let alone a cohesive narrative. MadWorld contains minigames, yes, but in the same notion as Jak and Ratchet. Would you call Ratchet a mini game collection tied together by platforming? You can engage in puzzles, space flight sections, destruction levels, races, and what have you. How about Street Fighter 2? I guess its a minigame collection tied together by a fighting game. I mean you can destroy a car, or a stack of bricks, or even a bunch of barrels to get a score bonus. How about Okami? You could paint, fish, there were digging sidescrolling portions. Zelda? Shooting galleries? Digging minigames? Fishing? Canoeing? I know what you're trying to do, stop trying to rile people up. You know its not a minigame collection by definition, its just a beat em up with minigames within.

Madworld is a mini game collection
I haven't played an adventure brawler I liked (then again, I never played River City Ransom) so I might pass on Madworld. I also dislike FPS games far more than I dislike adventure brawlers so count me out of The Conduit for sure.
the games I want more of are ones like Samba De Amigo and Zack & Wiki
I'm sure MadWorld and the Conduit will sell very well, a million units at the very least. The hype around them is just too strong.
Still, Nintendo's own 'core' games have sold through the roof, proving that traditional games have there place on Wii, but I guess 3rd parties think Nintendo is an exception.
Also, I'm getting Rune Factory Frontier so I probably won't get MadWorld (on release day).
I find it strangley odd that developers are using mad world as an example... The conduit might be a better example as that is more of an open market, madworld is BLACKANDWHITE!!! not to say im not interested but many people wouldnt be, its just wierd(different) whatever the case it looks really fun
Third time's a charm? You've posted three times in this thread, saying the exact same thing each time. Thanks for sharing your opinion, it's crystal clear now.Madworld is a mini game collection

Anyway, as a huge fan of beat em' ups, I'll be picking up MadWorld day one, so long as my wallet allows. I don't think the situation is as dire as people are making it out to be however.
I don't play M rated games so I'm not buying it.
And to tell the truth, I really don't think Madworld will sell that well.
On different occasions people on Gamespot have brought up lists showing the number of games sold, and every time "shovelware games" always beat "hardcore games".
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW YOU MISTOOK AN ACTION/ADVENTURE TITLE FOR A MINI-GAME COLLECTION.snover2009
To rile you up. Its what he does. MadWorld DOES have minigames, but its not the focus, they're built within the game as things like ManDarts or what have you. You're still playing the core game while you play the minigame, so I fail to see how he could honestly classify it as a minigame collection, when its just a game that has minigames in it.
MADWORLD IS AN ACTION GAMEsnover2009Like every other game in existence? Action is a very broad term considering very few games in existence contain absolutely no action. And wow people are really getting defensive about the mini game thing. lol Two things.. 1. The developers made a big deal about this game having mini games. It's not supposed to be a secret so I'm not sure how Jason is shocking so many people. 2. Nobody ever said the game would be terrible. Not sure why people think mini games = bad.

Man Darts is the only mini-game that they shown, all of the other stuff going on is "swing wii-remote down to chain saw this dude in half"
