[QUOTE="GreekGameManiac"][QUOTE="guitarist4292"] Ah, you're right. He's NOT ambidextrous... but he's also not left handed, because he's NOT REAL! And most of the fictional characters known as "Link" are completely different fictional characters Look, man... I wish there was a way for him to be left-handed because it's tradition, but the fact of the matter is that the GAMEPLAY won't work properly if he's not right-handed, and that to me is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more critical than some stupid thing over-emotional fanboys cling to. I'm a HUGE Zelda fan, have been all my life, but I'd much rather have the game control brilliantly than sacrifice that to make Link left-handed. I can really appreciate your stance, but the argument that you keep using is that it will be awkward for him to switch hands? Do you realize that that makes you sound crazy? People are getting so fired up here because you're treating the idea of "Link" (which, again, is many, many different Links) as something with human characteristics, and feelings, and dexterity. And even after that, it comes down to this: Great control with right-handed Link (again, sorry lefties), or awkward control (for the real human player, not imaginary Link) and left-handed Link. Take your pic. THAT is why not many fans are getting upset. Because the real, reasonable fans would rather have a Zelda game that plays greatly than demand an idiotic thing like all incarnations of Link MUST be left-handed.guitarist4292
If game characters are not important, then why are you here? :)
It doesn't matter which incarnation of Link, all of them have been officially left-handed.
Tell you what,if the next SSB game features SSLink, ill bet you anything he'll be left-handed.
In any case,he should be,cause it's more correct.
Listen... that's not my point. I care about the game character, I think of Link as a lefty, too. And, yes, I agree! If he's in the next SSB, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was left handed! He is traditionally a lefty, yes. We're on the same page there, but I'm not saying he's not "supposed" to be left handed, because that's not the point. The point is that if he's left handed the game won't control as well. That's it. Bottom line, right there. He's right handed because it lends itself to the controls, just like he "switched hands" in ALttP because of the technical limitations of the console. They're not trying to make a change in the character, it's just the best way to implement the controls. If he could be a lefty and the game would control the same, then I would be upset, too... but that's not the case. The case is that the majority of people prefer a control stick in their right hand, meaning the Wiimote, which will be directly mapped to Link's sword (1:1), will be in the right hand. Thus, right-handed Link. It's not about the character, it's about making a good game! If they made him left handed and the controls sucked, would you really be more happy? The controls wouldn't suck,it just would be awkward.
