i just did the barroth quest last night on village mode, hes pretty hard the 1st few times but after you get a hold of his moves and his strategy hes pretty easy.

i found that if you stay towards the back of him by his tail its pretty easy to attack and dodge him.

i use the switch axe as well as the bone hammer? i cant remember the exact name ill make another post once i get online, also ill put up my friend code so people can add me.

Just got MHT + CC Pro bundle, how many hours should i play offline before going online? Im totally new to the franchise so just getting to grips with it, much enjoyment 5 hours in. Thx

i just unlocked switchaxes on SP... i'm tempted to switch (pun unintended), but i like being able to block and being overpowered :PBrunoBRS

I don't like the weapons that have block. Maybe S&S, but Switch Axe and Long Sword are my top 2. I might even collect Long Swords after I finish all the endgame SAs. I'm better at evading, compared to guarding (have been "exploiting" Evasion+2 since MHFU). I tried not relying on Auto Guard when I used S&S. Fail. lol

Here's the combo list. I've memorized paintball and both traps. Sap plant+paint berry. Trap tool+net for Pitfall Trap. Trap tool+thunderbug for Shock Trap. Ivy+spider web for net. I forgot how to make Tranquilizers. Just check the wiki.

I only use a Lance when I have trouble dodging attacks and just want to defend instead. I will usually use a lance on Gobul, Uragaan, andDiablos. Or whoever is weak against Ice since I have the Sabertooth lance :P.

I always try to evade. Even if some attacks are unavoidable in some parts (I'll try to find out which ones if I managed to almost perfect my timing. I'm thinking some of Alatreon's moves. But I might just have bad timing).

I'm inspired by videos like this. That's MHFU but I don't think they changed the formula for Evasion+2 and Evasion Up. If they did, it's not noticeable.

Finally, Uragaan Ruby after more than 10 Uragaans. Finally got my endgame fire axe, Flame Tempest. Now I need another one for the Alatreon armor set. :cry: And I also need Skypiercer and Azure Dragongem. :cry: I hope I can finish it before July.

We got a team together last night to try Deviljoe. We got our butts handed to us :P.

My Defense is 320 when buffed with the food buffs. Plus I use a lance against him so I guard his attacks. And its hard to stay between his legs when is is thrashing around the whole area :P.

Sepewrath, I'm envious of your evade +5. Is that a 5* quest? I have evade +1 and it comes in handy, but I really want +2.teknic1200

Stay between the legs. And bring Adamant Seed or something similar, that defense down hurts so much. I think it decreases defense by more than 20. I can't remember how much, but I usually have defense at around 420 or something. It'll become 3xx if I got hit by that bite.greenarcher02

Thank for the advice! Yeah I'm working on weapons and armor as much as I can right now. In a way I was spoiled with the demo because I could have a decent weapon right off the start. Do you recommend forging for armor/weapons or just buying from the girl? Am I even right that I can do either or?

Well for the low level stuff you can do either, as its cheap to buy and cheap to make. But when it comes to monster armor you cant buy it, you can only have it forged, though you have to pay for it be forged anyway. Also don't forget about the armor decorations which boost your skills, I would recommend checking out the solid tutorial on this page.

I don't know about any Shark Sword but I will be damned if I will stand around and let you bad mouth the win that is the Long Sword lol.

Got the Sharq Attaq lance a couple hours ago :D. Its so weird walking around the city with a Sharq on your back lol :P.

And you get the R Ludroth Coins offline Bruno. You have to fight the R Ludroth in the Arena offline.

It will be available once you've done HR31+ quests, 4* and above. They'll be the same monsters (you'll be fighting Great Jaggi again), but they'll be stronger and give slightly different rewards (Jaggi Hide+ for example). Those materials are not available in offline.

The old versions are not needed to craft the + versions.

The skills will be different, and most of the time better, but it really depends on your style of play.

I haven't tried the Sharq event quest, so I don't know.

Sorry for the trashtalk, but Barroth is easy to dodge. LOL. You'll get used to it. He doesn't even do hip checks, and he backs away before charging. That's like a cue to roll away safely.

Yeah event quest are just for the items only available in that quest. So it shouldn't be a problem to collect the other necessary items after the event is over and still create it.
