Is it "dips"? I always say "dibs" :?
Hey, I'm Nik moved here from russia and even tho i had a lot of... influences to hate nintendo, i still didn't and now i only play nintendo consoles. Poor homies from russia, they don't have any nintendo or anything, all they have is pirated computer games that kill your computer and your gamin needs. Too bad they never had the awesome taste of the awesomeness of the wii.nikita121
Holy Hell I meant Dibs, obviously. I'm predrinking before I go out, you'll have to excuse me. :Pbob_newmanNothing like a good pregame.

I thought it was a typo.... wait a minute P and B are far away from each other.

Takes a real trooper to postgame though. Are you a trooper Bob?
For some strange reason, whenever I go to type "B" I press "P" instead, but usually I catch myself and change it. This time, my reaction speed is somewhat decreased.
What's really weird is that I never accidentally press "P" instead of "B". Go figure.

Post, pre, during. Doesn't matter to me!
I'm actually heading to a friend's house tonight, and he's got a Wii (one of my few friends who does). Anyway, I'm going to bring over Boom Blox and WarioWare (He's already got MK and Brawl). Should be good times all around.

WarioWare + Alcohol = Good times always
Speaking of pregaming, I was doing just that the first time I played WarioWare. Truth be told, I was slightly intoxicated the first time I played it. I had just rented it and wanted to try it out before a bunch of people came over to my apartment. I realized right away that I was going to have to play quite a bit of it to unlock the multiplayer stuff. The cutscenes didn't make any sense whatsoever, though I realized later that they make even less sense to a sober person.
The game was a hit, though. We had about eight people drinking and playing WarioWare. It was a blast.

Anyways, the moral of this story is, don't mix a lot of Guiness with Jack Daniels, and then dance all night at the bar with an old woman who works at walmart._BlueDuck_
What?
Anyway Bob i got some new ideas for the QOTW. Ill PM them to you later, and you can see how much you like them :)

And then wake up the next day and tell the internet.
20.1 hours of Team Fortress 2 during the 4pm Fri-4pm Sun trial. My computer couldn't play it without using the virtual memory as RAM (which was sad because I couldn't buy Orange Box) but WOW that game is fun. Funny thing is...I'm best at engineer. Valve designs games so well that they guess your profession too.
That game is going to take a lot more hours out of my life once I get an Orange Box.
Guys, when you run out of liquor, don't go around mooching off of everyone else, unless everybody is drinking the same thing. And why are there so many ads for liquor on TV on Sunday afternoon? What genius thought that was a good idea? ...maybe it's a Canadian thing. Ugh, makes me sick just looking at it.
Ok so my house is flooded.... my brand new stinkin house... Something in our washing machine broke and it just kept on pumping water out... we didnt notice it for about 20 mins. Its getting taken care of now but for the next few days we have 11 industrial type fans in our house and its pretty loud. Insurance is covering it so all in all it isnt a huge hit but its still pretty stressful.ag1052
That sucks. Happened to my girlfriend one time, but it was a busted pipe in the walls, and she was out all day when it happened. I always laugh at that story because she said that it looked like her kitchen had a river in it.

That totally sucks
Did it flood to the point where you can float in your basement?
If that happened I would always want it to go all the way. Like if something bad is going to happen you want it to happen the very worst/best way possible because then at least it's something.
Hey did your house flood?
DID IT? It was so flooded that I swam laps in my basement until the plumber came!
That sort of thing

I live in Texas... we dont have basements... something about being too close to sea level...It didnt flood like you think... it was just like if you turned the hose on in your house for about 20 mins. It was bad enough to ruin all the pad under our carpet in the house and maybe ruin some of our drywall... they have been running these giant fans in our house for about 36 hours and they are going to come today to see if they need to replace any of the sheetrock.
Well, I did it. I finally bought a new graphics card. It's an ASUS N7600GS 256 MB DDR AGP 4x-8x card. I'm really stoked about this. I haven't done any serious PC gaming in like five years. Now, I'll be able to play Team Fortress 2, Civilization IV, and Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth.
:)
Hmm... as far as I can tell it's built right into Vista so I can't find a way to uninstall and reinstall, but you could ditch that side bar and try Google desktop insteadchickenscratchMany thanks. Works like a charm and I decided to install it on my laptop as well. :D Thanks again.
So I just did a tally of my video games, and I currently have 9 games I'm in the middle of playing (4 for Wii, 2 for DS and 3 for GBA), and 13 games I haven't even started yet (2 for Wii, 3 for GBA, 7 for DS and 1 for PS2).. 8 of which are still in their original seal. Geez I'm never going to clear my backlog. It doesn't help that I just bought two games the other day on pay day.. And they're all good, non-skippable games too, including the likes of Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy VI, Castlevania Aria of Sorrw/Dawn of Sorrow, Persona 3, The World Ends With You, and so on.
Yikes.
Off the Everybody Votes Channel;
Question: Are we in the best of times or worst of times?
States that answered worst were Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennslyvania, Washington DC, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maine, Rhode Island, Florida, and the Dominican Republic.
Here's the kicker, every state from Michigan to NC on the list TOUCH ONE ANOTHER. If I were running for president, I would use this data to influence my campaign, calling the area "the Roots of Prosperity." I mean, we're talking around 125/435 points up for grabs in the election (that's enough to counter Ohio and California combined) all while staying east of the Mississippi.
Thank you Nintendo, your influence in statistical analysis has once again benefitted nobody.
Oh, and I found, bought for $9.99, played, and beat ICO (PS2) within the span of two days. I get it now. Graphics over gameplay, silent over talkative, adventure over action, cinematic over free-roaming, design before style; everything captured in 6 hours of game time was done not in-game, but was self-influenced. I had control over everything at every time, even while following a pre-determined path. The best part? I was consciously aware that I was playing the game to complete it. The puzzles, the fighting, the trail-and-error is all performed at my hands. It was the strangest feeling to know that a constricted game was more open than most sandbox games could ever strive for.
2001 was a very good year for games, I'm glad more people are starting to see past 2007 and 1998 as the "finites" in good gaming.

Don't know how to react with other kids? NONSENSE! Just do what you do on the internets!

Well...um....we don't know a whole lot about you yet Seth.
If you feel bad about being inside, go outdoors! Even poor, there are plenty of places to see...
I never really worried so much about socializing, I just hit libraries and video game stores to enjoy myself. When you talk to the people there enough times, becomming friends will be like second nature. You'd be surprised how many people don't care how different some of their friends seem because those people are usually the ones who have the most fun.
Just...remember to shower before you go, nobody likes standing near Mr. Stinkypits.

Socializing is a skill, use it and you get better over time. Sitting there wishing you can change it will not help. Not trying to sound like a douche but it's true. Making friends was incredibly tough for me growing up because I was incredibly shy and I have a wicked lisp. But after a while it becomes second nature. Give it a try now and then and you'll see.
Well guy's I just finished High School and earned my OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma). I got a 78% average and now pretty excited.
As for Coldplay, yeah I listen to them and the new album is really good. I have a weird taste in music, if I like something, I'll listen to it. I won't really constrain myself to one genre/type. Though, most of my music is from the rock side I guess, I dont listen to as much rap/hip hop as I used to. The only one's I can tolerate are Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco. Otherwise, I listen to things like KillSwitch Engage (sometimes), Protest The Hero, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Coldplay, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, The Beatles, some aerosmith, Disturbed, Muse, Tegan and Sara, The White Stripes and a lot more, lol.
Btw guy's, WALL-E and WANTED come out sometime next week. I'm excited. Also, The Dark Knight looks fantastic -- I saw the three new TV Spots, damn, it looks amazing. It's got it's first review from Rolling Stone Magazine, 3.5/4. :)

Hey your from Ontario? I'm right across the river in a suburb of Detroit. Did you ever get into the band Our Lady Peace? Their Canadian right? I used to love them too.

I went from being into the pretty typical alternative groups when I was in high school in the late 90's like Pearl Jam, Live, Oasis, etc. Then in college I went to the much more melo acoutical rock like Dave Matthews (big DMB fan), John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Counting Crows (not as acoustical), and now I am really into Coldplayroboccs
You just described my journey of music to the T.
I was never a huge fan of Coldplay. A couple weeks ago, though, I had just finished learning how to play every Lifehouse song on the guitar. That was kind of an arbitrary choice in bands... I liked one of their CDs when I was in high school, and they had a new one coming out, so I focused on them. Now I'm a fan. After that, I needed a new band to focus on. I knew that Coldplay uses alternate tuning for pretty much every song, and I figured it'd be good to fiddle around with that. And it was.
I got their new album the other day, and I love it. I wasn't a huge fan of X&Y. The songs were great, but they just seemed to be trying too hard for the U2 sound with a lot of them. And Chris Martin didn't play his guitar in most of the songs, and that just disappointed me. With Viva La Vida, they don't seem to be trying too hard to do anything. All the songs just sound like they went wild in the studio and had a ton of fun recording. The lyrics also seem to have quite a different focus, though I haven't really listened to it enough to know for sure.
Coldplay has never tickled my fancy except for Clocks. Although I've kinda had it in for them cause I hated Yellow so friggin' much. I generally ignore them but I seen them on Jimmy Kimmel and you know what? They ain't half bad but you still won't catch me buying their record. I did alot of growing up in the 90's so the music is basically imprinted in me. I can't listen to the radio, I can't stand the new music. But I really like Sam Roberts and I'm going to see him at edge fest in two weeks!!

That's awesome. The fact that you mentioned lifehouse is pretty sweet. Their new song "whatever it takes" is one of my new favorite "current" songs. I actually learned how to play that on the guitar recently. They are actually a great group. In terms of Coldplay, I thought X & Y was an amazing album. I didn't like it at first but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it.
If you want to learn songs with open tuning you should try songs by the Goo Goo Dolls; most of their songs have funny tunings but sound great playing them yourself. Dashboard Confessional is another one. I notice that any songs with funny tunings or that use a capo turn out to be the ones that I really like. Try learning "Black "Balloon" by the Goo Goo Dolls (probably my favorite song of all time" or "Brilliant Dance" by Dashboard Confessional; both have alternate tuning. If you're not familiar with them I recommend looking them up.
I should play my guitar more; I blame video games for not playing as much as I used to in college. My skills have dimished greatly.
