[QUOTE="TacticalElefant"]How about just forgetting Zelda, and make a new game for once, that isn't the same damn thing for the 4th time when it comes to 3D Zeldas?!?!?!
Sepewrath
How about No, also not to be mean but I am glad that alot of you arent game developers.
:question:Just wondering what does it matter if we are?
I'm pretty sure almost everyone thought twilight princess was to easy, I don't know about you but I got hurt plenty of times however three fourths of the time it took me down a quarter of a heart. I think normal bad guys should take down at least one half or a whole heart. Bosses should probably take down two. Does anyone else think they should get rid of a quarter heart damage? (unless maybe once you have an upgraded tunic/armor)
Ok not to be mean but some ideas should/wont happen. First, some people say there never should be another Cel Shaded game, others say the next console zelda game should be Cel shaded. Well I have foun the middle ground beats both ideas, LoZ: WW was one of the best Zelda games, the gameplay was good and the graphics were a cool twist (cel shaded) BUT that does not mean the rest of the home console games shoud be cel shaded, it just cant be done again even if it was great, HOWEVER it works perfectly for the DS, WHICH IS WHERE IT BEING MADE PEOPLE SO STOP ASKING FOR SOMETHING THAt IS ALREaDY COMING OUT.
Second, MMO RPG and 3 player coop are out of the question.
Third, I have no problem with other characters voice acting but everyone has their own idea in the back of their head of how link speaks so its best left alone. So everyone talks accept for Link.
Now my idea and you can criticise it as much as you want. Link has to have 1 to 1 ratiocontrol over his sword (wiimote)and great directional control over his shield (nunchuk). Next thanks to Nintendo Zelda, Link, and Ganon have to be in the game, however Ganon does not need to be the main bad guy. Next Zelda games have to be much harder. More Epona battles. The fighting needs to involve piercing, have you noticed that they never have the sword pierce the enemy just slice. it would add alot to boss fights. Next Link's triforce of courage needs to affect you in game aka moRE POWERFUL. Next Zelda cant just be about mini quests and jumoing from dungeon to dungeon. They need to have another element of conflict. my idea would be that the main enemy starts a war and you have to fight it with loyal firends behind you. I have talked to many zelda experts and they agree that real time battles could fit perfectly into the zelda games.
They should have more side missions where you can upgrade weapons, TP lacked that. OoT had a larger side mission for the goron sword and MM had many side missions instead of many dungeons.

Dude that sounds like the best Zelda EVAH!! but i'm not sure waht the 1 to 1 ratio control would add to me it seems like it would complicate things but i do agree there isn't enough stabbing.....i lovedhow ganon died in WW:P
I would like to see alot changed in the next zelda. now all this is IMHO and much of it would change the fundmentle game disign of LoZ games.
#1 a much deeper story. As well as telling of the story and not just as a resone to go to the next dungeon. please next Zelda Devloper play some FF games or crono trigger.
#2 new controls. i have never realy liked the controls in zelda.
#3 no more silly charicters. Such as the mail man in TP and tingle or the kid with snot driping outa his nose ect. it kills the mood of the game for.
#4 more depth to the combat.
#5 less puzzles and more NPC interactions and story twist. i would rather spend more time interacting with NPC's, fighting, or haveing fun with things like the fishing mini game rather than tryn to figure out how to open a door.
#6 some kind of a leveling system might be cool. give us a resone to fight the bad guys rather than avoid them.
#7 more open ended adventure. less set path. think Oblivion here. not sayn i want Zelda to be Oblivion just there is alot that could be taken from Oblivion and used to make the next zelda a better game.
#8 this kinda goes hand in hand with #7. im sick of the same old thing sence the very first zelda and that is the endless dungeons/temples. seems its the same thing. you spend some time on a simple over world that has little going on "Hyrule field" Vist a sage,go into a dungeon/temple,solve some puzzles, fight a mini boss, gain new item, use new item to defeat main boss, do it all again.
Basicly add more of a RPG nature to the game. deeper more fleashed out story and charicters that you interact with and learn about to the point you actualy care about them like in some of the better RPGs "FF-6,7,8,9 crono trigger ect". and a change up to how the story is told and paced.
PS sorry about spelling. im very sleepy and ....well dumb lol :LP
[QUOTE="blueteeth"][QUOTE="salty5674"]What makes you so sure there will be a Loz Wii?nakasa5
its already been confimed that its in the works............
Do you have a link to some article confirming it. I haven't seen one. All I've heard is a lot of speculation. Thanks!
E3 the head of LOZ said he wanted to tell everything about the new Wii LoXZ but Miyamoto stopped him. Search for it and you'll find it.
I think the most important change I would do would be in the story. The way it is told is not dramatic at all... and it is still too childish. They don't show blood and good guys never die. Besides that, as I said before, it needs a little bit more violence, and I agree on the enemy stabbing someone suggested.

The first thing that needs to happen is the difficulty i swear Tp was probably the easiest one of them all though i still liked the game it was just to easy.
and i agree that there should be more things in shops to spend rupees on maybe for example different uniforms and weapon customization.
one of the next things would be harder boss fights.
cinamatic sword fights is a must like in Resi 4 howwhenyou need to press a button the get it to go to the next part of the scene this would be awsome.
and voice acting must also go into the next one.

1:1 ratio for Zelda means that when Links swings his sword left it goes left, when he lunges it forward it pierces the enemy. there would also be gestures like shake the Wiimote to do a spining attack. This way there is more strategy to killing every type of enemy/ Some enemies will be weak in the ribs so you hit them in the ribs. It takes a little more brain power than just randamly swinging the wiimote to get the same action as a stupid button but it is still extremely simple if Nintendo can get it down right.

Get rid of the puzzles and silly characters and you are taking away a big part of what makes Zelda, Zelda.
I don't want Zelda to take on an RPG element. The game is an action/adventure, not an RPG like Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. You want those games, then play those games.
I do agree though that the story has to be deeper and fleshed out, as well as the characters.
1. More armor and weapons, a lot of them, not just dungeon aquired items but worthy shop items.
2. Leave Ganon out for at least 1 game, he could be some kind of driving force in the game's plot, but not the main bad feller.
3. Harder everything, harder dungeons and combat.
4. Voice acting would be nice.
5. 1:1 sword swinging wouldn't work, think really hard about it...
6. Uhhh.....a big open world would be nice, also hang gliding :D
I'd rather you stick to your FF instead of turning Zelda into a generic, uninspiring jrpg clone. :)I would like to see alot changed in the next zelda. now all this is IMHO and much of it would change the fundmentle game disign of LoZ games.

1. Change the controls/gameplay! It's time to move on. Maybe remove targeting all together and employ 1:1 "aiming" with the sword. If not 1:1 then something close.
2. For god's sake, be more creative with the dungeon themes! No more of these trite forest/fire/water/ice/desert/shadow archetypes. Something totally off-the-wall and unexpected, like the levels in Earthworm Jim only not as silly (ok bad example, but you know what I mean).
3. Voice acting is a possibility, as long as Link remains silent (Wand of Gamelon, anyone?). Wouldn't be that much different since Link never had dialogue in written form, either.
4. A good balance of story and exploration, including unexpected non-dungeon bosses and events. I think TP did a pretty good job in this regard. They should keep it up.
5. I agree that items should be more useful. The new ones presented in TP were awesome, but served little purpose outside of their respective dungeons.
That's about all I can think of. I'm pretty sure Nintendo will make it amazing no matter what, as they always have.

That's not what 1:1 means. 1:1 would mean that Link's sword arm mimics even the slightest movement that your Wii remote makes. For an idea of 1:1 sword swinging, look at Die by the Sword, an interesting game that used a system called VSIM for 1:1 sword swinging. It worked because it used a mouse for input. Think about it--the Wii remote doesn't have a blade, so you could easily end up cutting Link's head off as you swing the remote around. It would be ungainly and make Link look like a clumsy buffoon.

That is what i was saying. and the wiimote can do it. He would not chop his head off because all you have to do is when the sword gets near his head he leans away from it.. They may have to do 1 : 1.5 ratio to do it but if they do it right it is basically the same thing. See as long as you are able to hit enemeys where you want to, when you want to, then it beats any sword weilding game with the dual shock controller because it adds so much strategey to killing bad guys. If they do it right that is.
In WW is was good when you went to his homeisland and had that huge sequence of fighting more and more enemies at once to get the shard and then continuing on to get a heart piece. WW also had more parying and more moves then just hack and slash
Theres just one problem with that. Being that link is left handed, that would make the controls very difficult for those right handers. Then agian, i just played the GC version of TP, so im guessing they did something special in that.SalebDragon
They made link right handed in the wii version

I agree with the 1:1 ratio control. Also i agree with ganon not having to be the boss. Yes i also want Zelda games to be harder like you actually die fighting bosses and make it harder to kill enemies. Also Zelda needs to have really hard puzzles like God of war. Some of the Gow puzzles i got stuck on for like a week.About your jumping from dungeon to dungeon i sort of agree with it but i think theystill need to have that as an element in the game.Lastley they need a huge twist! Like zelda actually be yoursister.
Hows this as a story that includes all the aspects i stated?
You start off as link in the forest that is close to hyrule and you get an important message from your mother in hyrule and you need to travel to see her. Once you get to her house you notice that someone broke into it and left a note. The note says that she has been kidnapped and you have to bring 1 000000000000 rupees to save her.So instead you get the sword and shield and Go to the first dungeon. After you save your mother she dies (that adding to make the zelda plot better) but before she dies she wants to tell you a secret but she dies before she can! Link then decides to travel to hyrule so he can burry his mothers body. After her body is burried you turn around and see princess zelda who tells you that there is soon going to be a war between good and evil (the evil will be led by ganondorf)and she heard about links braveryi n the first temple trying to save that women who got kidnapped. so she decides to ask link to help them. Link says yes.So she tells link that he needs to get the sacred sword so he will have a chance versus ganondorf and to get the sword he has to offer the 3 (somethings)to the Gods. So link sets off to get the 3 somethings.
Once you beat 3 more dugeons then link comes back to a ruined hyrule wherehe has to go and findzelda in her hiding place. Once he finds zelda she tells him a story ofhow Ganondorf took a huge army of (goblins or whatever) and attacked hyrule. Zelda then tells link about the sacred forest where he will find the sacred sword. OnceLink returns with the sacred sword, Zelda says that ganondorf was not alone in taking over hyrule there was a person even more powerful them ganondorf (insert name here). Zelda then tells link how ganondorf and other person were planningto attack the rest of hyrulewith a huge armyin about a week (This is where it starts to turn like majoras mask) and link needs to go collect The god armour in order to stand a chance against this new person.
Zelda gives you ocarina of time to let you go back in time if you dont finish before a week is up.
So after you get the Shield, Helmet, Leggings, and chest plate (another four temples which you have to beat before a week is up) you go to see zelda. Zelda tells you that they have aassembled an army to assist you in taking down ganondorf and other person. so you all walk to a very large open area where you meet ganondorf and his army (other person is not there) and you fight.
I really would like to see this in a zelda game. Like a Lord of the rings end fight where there is alot of people and you go and have to ride on epona(damn i forgotabout how you get her) and fight all of these monsters and then get off of epona and still fight more monsters. Alsoall of these other people from past games are fighting with you like the mailman, tingle, dampee, the gorons, all of the other forest villagers, shiek, people from kakariko, Zoras(some how) and many more. After a huge long epic fight you and ganondorf are left. You kill ganaondorf and he starts laughing and points behind you. You look and Zelda is getting captured and taken away. You jump back on epona and follow this person who kidnapped her. They bring her to the castle where you have to go through all of these puzzles to get to the top and fight the other person to save Zelda.
after that battle zelda will say a huge secret like i never knew our father would become so power hungry and join ganondorf. And you go OMFG your my sister and i just killed my dad. Then there is a huge long story of what happened at links birth to make zelda and him seperated. Then zelda says thats why she was at the grave to give respect to her mother.
And peace is restored to hyrule.
I know i just made that up and dont say that it is a gay story i would like you to make up a better one.
1) Voice acting, perhaps Link leave out as people suggested.
2) A deeper story. I was kind of disappointed by the shallowness of TP's story, but since this is coming from a FF "veteran" I guess LoZ is more of an adventure game.
3) Indeed, more Wii-potential combat. Make shooting bows more than just pressing a button and aiming - that's not what I imagined when I bought my Wii.
Some other things I'm not sure have been suggested:
1) Being new to Zelda, TP being my first Zelda game, I was a tad disappointed with enemies being defeated in only a few blows.
2) Too few different types of enemies, especially in the world, ie while traveling.
3) I was somewhat disappointed by some of the music too. My favourite music by far is the Hyrule Field one, but some are too simple and dull and usually are used way too often.
I think the most important change I would do would be in the story. The way it is told is not dramatic at all... and it is still too childish. They don't show blood and good guys never die. I think a very important element in an RPG are emotions... it sounds corny but it is true. It has to make you feel something... like sad for a character that dies. I think that's part of what has made the FF series so succesful and something Zelda seriously lack. TP had fun battles and puzzles, but the story didn't have big turns or unexpected things, I mean learning that midna was the twilight princess was unexpected but it wasn't shocking either.

Right on spot, this is exactly a part of what I meant when I was talking about Zelda's story.
Here's what I want to see in the next zelda:
1. Better wiimote use: This one is pretty obvious. Have Links moves change depending on how you slash the wiimote, and use the nunchuck to change the angle of your shield, like raising it up to block and overhead attack. However, keep it simple. I have heard lots of people suggest pulling the wiimote back and releasing the button to launch an arrow, but I can't really see how that would improve anything. It would just screw up your aim. Basically, they should avoid using gesture controls just for the heck of it and only use it when it adds to the experience.
2. Voice acting: I used to be against this until I played TP. Alot of the dramatic moments in that game fell flat because of the lack of voice. However, if they decide to go for the cartoony WW style, then voices arent as important.
3. I'm tired of the "Dungeon Map/Compass/Miniboss/Item/Boss battle that uses item" formula that every dungeon uses. Change things up a bit! How about a dungeon that doesn't use keys? How about a dungeon that has TWO Boss battles? How about a dungeon that IS a boss battle? (Okay, maybe that last one is a little ridiculous...)
4. Cinematic camera angles, dynamic weather, townspeople that react to you, diegetic music, lots of ambient sounds (People talking and laughing, dogs barking...). Lots of little things that make the world come alive.
5. After finishing a dungeon, don't tell the player exactly what to do next. Instead, give us a vague hint, and let us work it out on our own. It would be much more satisfying, and would heighten the sense of adventure.
6. Remove the whole quarter heart damage system, and make the enemies tougher with better AI. It would also be nice if you could influence the enemies. For example, if you start launching arrows at a group of archers, they would take cover and try to figure out where the arrows are coming from. If you keep picking them off and they STILL can't see you, they will freak out and run away.
7. Orchestrated music on par with Shadow of the Colosssus. I'm sure Koji Kondo is more than up to the task.
8. Reduce the number of dungeons, but make each of them long and epic. Quality > Quantity is what they should go for.
9. Maybe a different setting or time period. How about a steampunk Hyrule?
...And a bunch of other stuff that I don't feel like typing up.

I agree with everything u said but these 3
3.Dont change the formula of the dungeons it works fine i would just love them to tweak it a bitlike you get a weapon in the dungeon and then you actually have to use it in the next dungeon. And a dungeon that is a boss battle is not that ridculous you could be inside some massive creatureand have to fight it's heart or immune sytem or something
8. keep dungeon numberthe same and make them epic as well
9.Zelda games have no specific time period they change and vary so does the technology in the world
Pretty much agree with poster above, though;
3. I'm tired of the "Dungeon Map/Compass/Miniboss/Item/Boss battle that uses item" formula that every dungeon uses. Change things up a bit!

Even though TP is my first Zelda, I cannot but agree with this - it starts getting simple, let alone in another 6 dungeons in another zelda.

I was going to say that I can imagine myself being in a dungeon for too long and really just wanting to go out, but that teleport guy kinda solves that problem.
9. Maybe a different setting or time period. How about a steampunk Hyrule?

Personally I really love the time period, and feel it would be just weird if it would change (I really disliked FFVIII, too).
Something that just occured to me, what can annoy me intensely is that when you save your game, it doesn't actually save your current position, but simply warps you to the entrance of the region. Hasn't anyone else found this tiring?property2r145
Yeah that is annoying but i thought the series was gettting to easy so taking that out would make it even easier

I most if not all situations to me it's just annoying. Like if you're anywhere in the dungeon, you have to warp out, save, and then after the load warp back in - otherwise you can run the whole dungeon from the start again.

It's just that maybe they could mix up how you gain access to the compass or map. And certainly a different amount of bosses or changes in that way would help variety greatly.

Um, I never said that Zelda should change genre and turn into a first-person shooter or something. I just said that the DUNGEON formula is getting stale and they should evolve it. Is their anything wrong with that?
1:1 is a cool idea, but I think it would be much more problematic than it's worth. Sure, we all want to hold the master sword in our hands (not too mention a light sabre), but there are so many other ways to improve Zelda besides implementing a possibly buggy 1:1 sword. Voice acting for NPCs or a more open world environment would be great!nakasa5
If there is someone who can do it, its Nintendo. Besides 1 : 1 ratio is never achieved properly because people dont give it enough time. A project with enough funding and time and skill could do 1 :1 ratio or something very close.

I partially agree. But i like he dungeons its just they got to add a little spice that is why I really like the idea me and my friends thought up. I posted it earlier. It would involve a war. The whole next Zelda game would involve someone meaner than Ganon waging war on Hyrule. This Main bad guy is able to cause chaos among the good factions of hyrule so they remain seperated. While he unites all the evil.
This means some main bad guys from past link games are involved and have to be fought. The dungeons because you have to get something from that dungeon or you have to kill a creature from that dungeon because that is what is causing seperation among hyrule. There would be battles after you accomplish certain tasks and they would be real time full on BRAVEHEART ****battles. The battles would usually involve saving a city or something along that line because the main bad guy is trying to raise Hyrule to the ground. its not open ended tho because that crap never works good. The battles are part of a story line and they haved the same result if you actually beat the enemy, if you lose you go back to the save point. Each battle would involve you and whatever hyrule faction you have gotten on your side. Your men charge the enemy like you do but you have fight alot more people. They could make a good fighting system that would make link a little more jumpy so you can push off enemy and such.

I totally agree with that make this huge war at the end. And this would be awsome with 1:1 ratio controls like if there were a group of 500 enemys in this war. You just run into them and salsh you wii mote around and kill all of them. IT would be so cool.
