This album was forgetful to say the least. Even more all over the place than I'd expect from Weezy. Punchlines for the sake of punchlines, etc.
That being said, She Will, Nas, Bun B, Andre and Tech >>>
...Oh, and Drake and John LegendÂ

Big KRIT and Curren$y and Drake are up there too but Weezy is ahead on my list...elpooz
lol I just don't know how Big KRIT, Curren$y and Drake could even be up there when their lyrics are really not that great besides Big KRIT who is a pretty good producer and rapper but not great. I enjoy his music just as much as you but I would never place any of those guys including Wayne in front of someone like Jay Electronica as far as best rapper right now goes. simple metaphors must really appeal to you though, Jay E has rapped over good beats and killed pretty much all of them! let me know when Wayne has a song that's as good as Exhibit C

Top 60 worst lines on tha Carter IV
"All about my riches/ My name should be Richard"
"Don't **** up with Wayne/ 'Cause when it Waynes it pours."
:lol:Â
I really, really like Jay Electronica but Wayne just recently gave me an album I really like, No Ceilings, and a bunch of random tracks that were really dope... What has Jay Electronica dropped for me lately (lol)? Not much... If his album comes out and isn't industry mangled, and he continues to drop music on the regular, he will probably be a rapper I like more... He is super talented, but I don't care about talent, I care about what people put out... Jay E doesn't do much putting out. Â
Wayne has a bunch of songs I'd listen to over Exhibit C... Something You Forgot, Sportscenter, This is the Carter, Hustler Musik, Dr. Carter... Dope song but it's not the greatest thing ever :?.
And me liking those artists has to do with a lot more than lyrics... I value delivery and production way more than I do lyrics... that's just me though.Â
IMO, the most entertaining rapper alive is the best rapper alive, simply because I personally look to music for entertainment. May not be that way for everyone. Wayne has tons of corny lines, but recently he's put out more mixtapes/albums/songs that I enjoy than anybody really. Jay, Nas, Outkast, 2pac, and other artists/groups have put out multiple albums I think are better than Wayne's best album/best mixtape, but, right now, he is putting out more enjoyable music. Since like 2004, no other rapper has supplied as much good music imo... Dedication 1 and 2, Prefix, Suffix, Drought is Over, Drought Is Over 2, Da Drought 3, Lilweezyana, No Ceilings, Like Father Like Son (the mixtape, not the album), The Leak, Not A Human Being (meh overall, but the non-YM songs were dope... Bill Gates, Right Above it, etc... basically the ones that were 75% or 100% Wayne), C1, C2, C3, and C4 + the tons of dope guest verses and random tracks. Curren$y is on his game atm and is dropping dope music left and right, but besides him, there are a handful, if that, of artists dropping dope music all over the place...Â
Â
And Gucci Mane has like a mixtape and one album I really like. The rest of his stuff is super meh imo.
Wayne has more to him than his production... his flows are kinda meh now, compared to his older flows, but on the first three carters and on most of his mixtapes, his flows are grade A. With a delivery as good as his, he could talk about ****ing a chicken and it would sound hot. Him having a good ear for beats only helps.
Gucci Mane doesn't have the charisma, delivery or energy that sets Wayne apart from other rappers.Â
Wow, Wayne's first week sales projections have increased to 870-900k. I reckon it would've done a milli if wasn't such a garbage album with such terrible reviews. The stans are in full effect.
It's kinda crazy how Wayne's last two Carters (assuming this one sells high) have had higher first week sales than Eminem's last two albums.
Wayne clearly can't just rap about anything and have it fly considering almost everyone here has pointed out how lyrically awful this album was at times...

OTB holds a very small population of listeners. Obviously there are tons of other people who agree with me if he's about to sell a million records in the first week again, or close to a million at least... Wayne has never been a great lyricist. He was pretty good on C2Â but he's always been about his charisma and flows, and that has worked for him very well thus far. Everyone on my Facebook and Twitter have been talking about how good C4 is, all my friends love it and it's about to sell ridiculously well... just because OTB doesn't feel this album, doesn't mean that it's a bad album lol. Wayne knows that he has tons of people that love what he's doing and he's gonna keep doing it... a dozen people on a GS Union saying this album is bad really doesn't mean anything lol, especially to him.Â
It getting average scores from critics falls in the same boat. If Wayne cares enough about what a few dozen people write in their publications to change his approach to music, then he's crazy. A critic is just a listener with a degree and possibly a more seasoned ear. Wayne doesn't care any more about them than he does about a Black Demon or Andyboii...

I look to music for entertainment too but I don't consider the best entertaining to be the best. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

I doubt his album goes 4x plat though.Â
[QUOTE="elpooz"][QUOTE="Black-Demon"]That's why nowadays you become an independant artist instead of signing to a major label. The end.Black-Demon
Okay, nevermind . You're crazy if you think all you need is talent to put out a great album. Talent doesn't provide dope beats, and production is half the album. Talent doesn't give you guest features, which can really help albums. There's a reason that Joe Budden, a dude that can rap his ass off and is clearly very talented, has dropped one amazing disc... he can't get good production on his ****. MM2 is classic imo, but Padded Room, for example, is ALL Joey... his flows and lyrics make that album, the production is garbo... He can be as talented as he wants, but that talent wasn't getting his independent ass better production and guest spots for his work. Now that he's on Shady, maybe he'll see that... but where he was before, **** no. He could have came with some Illmatic-esque verses on Padded Room but that production would have kept that album down in a major way...
I'll use MK's style for this one.
You don't need guest features to make a great album
Padded Room has horrible production because Joe has a horrible ear for beats
It doesn't make sense how Budden doesn't have money for good production while Royce does
Although it's a mixtape, almost everybody here loves Mood Muzik 2,and the beats sucked

Bodybag ... also Odd Future ***** on pooz's conception of reality. Them dudes had an album budget of a bag a chips and some moth balls and EARL and Bastards are still stupid dope and generated a huge buzz for the group.ÂThe main reason why we managed to get a Slaughterhouse album out and so early after the group's inception was because it was an independant release.
A sophomore SH CD under Shady will not come out any time soon, if not ever.Â
And if we do get one someday, it'll be trash anyways...
It will won't hit 500,000. The Throne didn't even hit 500,000 in its first week and it had so much hype. Swanogt19
He apparently just done a million in his first week.
EDIT: apparently, the official figure was 964,000.
