with that said, im happy we won tonight. damn i need to watch a game online one of these nights just to see how everyone's doing. i mean, personally i think we're desperately in need of a PG that just plays defense and distributes the ball well [udrih is playing well on offense, but dude is a liability on defense.] also, i'd love for PW to give greene more starts...and JT more minutes. we're much better than a 4-7 team right now.

dude put up a lineup of Thompson, Dalembert, and Landry one night lol.  now they took out Omri Casspi who is like a young peja and puts in Donte Greene in the starting lineup who shoots a terrible % and Casspi who has been producing some nice numbers isn't even getting playing time. wtf westphal?

^well it was against the Spurs who are the hottest team in the league so it's not that bad. I'm just glad we beat Miami.

 rockets won against the grizz. Kyle Lowry had a monster game, 28 points and 12 assists and KMart had 28 as well. Heck even Brad Miller wasn't completely useless last night, he had 23

 man if our defense was better we'd be a force this year. we're 6th in PPG and 8th in rebounds but 27th in defense :(

hopefully we get rolling when yao and brooks come back

Magic having been playing like crap lately. I guess its better to get all the kinks worked out early in the season than late.

Magic play the Clipps tonight. Blake Griffin prolly won't be matched up with Dwight Howard much but the matchup with Brandon Bass should still be fun to watch.

how's rashard lewis playing?,

We did finally move Brandon Bass to the starting lineup against the Jazz though. Dunno if that's permanent or just to match up with Millsap. Rashard started at SF. Bass had 18 pts 8 rebs on 8-11 shooting.

Van Gundy also benched Chris Duhon in favor or Jason Williams this past game for the backup PG role. Duhon plays like he's scared to commit turnovers, plays at a slow pace, all while not really doing anything. J Dubb commits turnovers but he gets our fastbreak game going and at least hits some occasional 3pters.

We've been wearing the old throwback black jerseys on random nights these past few years. Sometimes on big national TV games we'll wear them.

This was the first time we wore our new black alternates, but they are just going to be used the same way our old black throwbacks were.

Shard was pretty dreadful against Boston last year in the playoffs. 

Hedo is a huuge gamble. Does losing vince in playoffs help as much as losing Lewis and Pietrus in the playoffs hurts?Balimi

all I know is Vince Carter is a bum and so is Lewis and Hedo knows how to actually run their offense.  This is a big upgrade for the Magic

so when Kevin Love came out, my friend, who's the biggest NBA nerd ever (and wants to be a GM, he's interning for the Spurs D league team) said he wasn't athletic enough to be successful in the NBA.  Me, going off my limited at best knowledge of the college game randomly said he would be a stud, turns out my lucky ass guess was right.Apocalypse33

most products of UCLA are studs Russell Westbrook for example. I liked the kid too coming out of college but I'm sure no one expected him to be this good of a rebounder, I think that's the thing that's shocked people the most

Thoughts on the Magic vs. Hawks first half:

• Out of the three newcomers the only one playing well is Gilbert. Gilbert is great. Gets to the hoop at will.
• J-Rich and Hedo haven't been that involved yet.
• Malik Allen has no business being a backup center.... or in the NBA :|
• Horrible pick and roll defense, mainly from Brandon Bass & Malik Allen 
• Dwight gets frustrated too easily and it takes him out of the game
