you'll be a happy kings fan if you guys can land Kyrie Irving in the draft. Dude is the Point Guard you've been waiting for

nada, raps are getting him :),

i hope not, the raptors are a terrible organization. at least sacramento has some good players to build upon and they're basically moving to LA so a pass first point guard would benifit them more. raptors dont have anyone he could pass too lol

you're forgetting amir johnson, ed davis, demar derozan, bayless, james johnson, andrea bargnani, they're all under 25,Ā  if you've been following the raptorsĀ  which i doubt you have, you would know the improved development of derozan and ed davis this season, we also have the 2nd youngest team in the league and unloaded turkoglu's horrible contract,Ā  i seriously have no idea how someone could say the raptors are going no where, add in the top 5 lottery pick and the salary space and you have good rebuilding team

you could say that for OKC when they had the nucleus of green, westbrook and durant during durants 2nd year, that argument doesnt add up,Ā

Cleveland is projected to get the #1 and #8 picks this year. They could end up with a draft of#1 Kyrie Irving + #8 Perry Jones/Terrence Jones/Enes Kanter OR #1 Derrick Williams + #8 Kemba Walker/Brandon Knight.

It would be crazy if they got #1 and #2 through the lottery and got both Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams.

he's not anything special. he's not a franchise player that you build around. he'll be a good piece for a team that already has good players but if your team is built around him you're in trouble. he has no three point shot and he's not good defensively

Sigh. Magic lose to the Knicks in overtime. Jameer, Q-Rich & JJ were all hurt... Duhon got hurt and didn't play the second half. Hibachi was playing point the whole game and missed just about his first 10 shots before coming through with 2 huge clutch shots at the end of regulation. And Dwight picked up another tech :(Ā

I fell asleep at halftime of the Bulls game and woke up at the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Lakers vs Suns. 3 overtimes!!

Kobe was missing a ton of shots at the end of the game and in overtime. Still came up with some big plays like the pass while flying out of bounds to Gasol and the 3pter.

lmao at Artest blowing kisses to the crowd after the 3 and kissing his biceps after the steal + breakaway dunk.

Lakers should be happy Grant Hill fouled out because once Vince came in the Lakers blew the door open.

Orlando_Magic
At this point they should just call him a corpse.

I know D Rose had a better season statistically but I'll still take CP3 over him. This Lakers series is making me open my eyes more. CP3 is much better at setting up his teammates, while still being able to get in the lane and score almost at will. And he's not a liability on defense like Rose. Rose is more explosive and a better finisher but that's all I'll give him.

paul has looked slower this year but turned it on game 1 vs the lakers. i would definitely take a healthy paul over rose

Ā

agreed with both you guys. I said the same thing on the espn message boards and this guy was like "paul is the better PG but he's not the better player" lol and I just pretty much said the same thing as Orlando.Ā  He may have the edge driving in but he takes a large volume of shots to get his points, he's inconsistent on defense (not as terrible as nash though) his shooting % is in the low 40's. One thing he has doneĀ  right which has been impressive is for him to put the team on his back while Boozer and Noah were out with their injuries earlier in the year, I'll give him that

I would take Rose because CP3 knee scares me. CP3 is the best point guard in the NBA(when healthy), Rose is the MVP.

Jason Richardson and Zaza will both probably be suspended next game. J Rich for hands to the face of Zaza, Zaza for headbutting J Rich.

Orlando is a mess next year. I find it hard to believe they'll trade Dwight (unless we completely suck in the first half of next year or Dwight comes out and says he won't resign), but Gilbert Arenas and Hedo Turkoglu's contracts really don't allow the Magic any flexibility. We're stuck with what we got and may even be down Jason Richardson since he's a free agent. Guys like Arron Afflalo are an option and we need to sign an extra big man.

The one bright spot is that Gilbert has an opt out clause the same time Dwight's contract expires which would give us a ton of capspace if he decides to opt out. Realistically I don't see how Gilbert turns down the $20 mill he is set to make... however, Gil and our GM Otis Smith have a father/son relationship and maybe Otis could convince him since he did save him from Washington when no one else even touch him. Longshot I know, but crazier things have happened. IF Gilbert opts out, the Magic would have enough capspace to sign Deron Williams or Chris Paul to play alongside Dwight.

The whole Dwight situation next year is going to be exactly like the media storm/Carmelo situation this past year. There's the option of trading Dwight where you never get equal value in return... or play it out and risk losing him for nothing like Cleveland or Toronto. There are rumors of trading him to LA for Pau Gasol + Andrew Bynum which is not bad I guess and probably better than anything else we'd be able to get.

No team would give up Gasol + Bynum for Dwight Howard lol, and certainly not LA when they value their size so much... Pau is arguably the best 4 in the league and Bynum is a dominant center on both ends when he's healthy, and he's been dealing with injuries a lot better recently.Ā

You guys have all the pieces of a championship team, honestly, you just don't come to play way too often. Orlando is pretty deep, has a great backcourt, has the best center in the league, and is pretty healthy. Only things that hold Orlando back is their gambling with 3-point shooting and them not having a bench that can support Dwight in the paint... well, those things and them playing with 0 effort sometimes. There were way too many games this season where Dwight had to put them on his back and hope that was enough. Ā Ā

Lando, how do you think the team Orlando started the season with would have fared in the playoffs? I bet they woulda beat Atlanta in 6 games and then given the Bulls a lot of trouble.

I'm just relaying the rumors that are floating around from the media to forums. Pau + Bynum for Dwight is the most talked about one. Los Angeles has no shot to get him unless at least one of them are involved.

You also have to realize that getting Dwight not only gives them legit title chances the next couple years, but gives them a legitimate franchise player after Kobe retires as well.

I personally wouldn't even want Bynum in a trade just because he's such an injury risk.

They probably would have beaten both of them and then had trouble with Boston just like last year.

Hedo was playing some great ball for us at times since the trade, then morphed into a bum. I guess you can give some credit to Josh Smith's defense but Hedo just looked out of it. Trading away Pietrus hurts us in a series like this because Q-Rich is left as our only reliable perimeter defender.

I'd rather have Bynum and Gasol when Kobe goes than Dwight Howard, that's for sure. Gasol will be getting up there in age but he's good for quite a few more title runs and as long as Bynum can stay healthy, he could be a huge part of multiple championships. He was big last year, and he's rapidly getting more consistent and confident. Bynum's knee is a nuisance, but I would hate LA for trading him and Gasol for Dwight lol. He has too much promise and Gasol is too good of a player. If Kobe left right now, LA would still be a very solid team and very capable of contending for a title. Would they be as good? Not at all, but when Kobe does retire, I doubt we are going to be without the depth and talent we need to make title runs. Plenty of stars out there, would be dumb to jump at Dwight Howard and give up two great players (1 of which is an all-star) just because we could.Ā

I'd take Bynum and (insert starter or two bench players here) for Dwight, because Dwight is a better center than Bynum and you're right about him being able to be LA's new headline player when Kobe's done. Ā

Dwight is a definite top 5 player in the NBA. Maybe top 3. He's runner up in MVP this year and 3 time consecutive defensive player of the year. And you're acting like it's crazy talk to trade a fringe all star who is 30 years old and an injury ridden albeit good center with potential for him:D

damnit I had the Grizzlies upsetting Spurs in the first round but I changed my pick because Rudy Gay was still out. That squad is so underrated.Ā  Z-Bo never gets love because people say he's lazy, bs he was putting in work all season and these playoffs.Ā  Marc Gasol the manly version of Pau Gasol is a pretty damn good post defender and they have some of the best perimeter defenders with Tony Allen and Shane Battier

Dwight would be beast but he is still a man child. He has the best skills in center position since Hakeen in his prime but so far he does not seem to harness it to full potential especially when it comes to leadership. He should demand the ball go through him as much as possible.

All this is even more impressive when you remember that Memphis is playing with no Rudy Gay and Dallas is playing without Caron Butler.
