Official 2010-2011 NBA Season Thread

Deron Williams supposedly was not going to resign with the Jazz. Kinda the same thing as the Melo situation except they did it a year early when Deron has more value. Harris is not as good as Deron but he's still a pretty good PG, Favors has a ton of potential, and extra 1st round picks are always a plus. 

I hate seeing all these star players leaving their teams though:? 

I wonder if Sloan is going to come back now lol. 

also how crazy would it be if after the new Collective Bargaining Agreement there is a franchise tag added to the NBA? And New Jersey uses that tag on Deron Williams? They will look like geniuses.

Kendrick Perkins news is probably the most shocking trade of the day. I hear he was asking for way too much money and would've left next year so they tried to get some value for him... but what if this move costs the Celtics the championship this year? Perkins is one of the best low post defenders in the league and now the Celtics have Shaq and J O'Neal as their lone centers (I guess Big Baby too). There are rumblings about Rasheed Wallace possibly coming out of retirement and Troy Murphy coming over after being bought out so we'll see.

Perkins and Ibaka make a great defensive frontcourt for OKC which they had been lacking.

I wish the Magic could've found a way to get either Gerald Wallace or Shane Battier. We need defensive help bad. Both of them were traded for pretty much nothing.

Best Magic game of the year tonight. Jameer owned Billups in the 4th tonight, scored 11 straight points in a row on Chauncey.

Orlando dominated the 1st quarter and went up 11, then NY dominated the 2nd quarter even more and NY ended up by 12 at halftime. Hedo got tossed with two technicals in the 2nd quarter for arguing lol. The game was getting completely out of hand at that point.

Orlando cut into the lead in the 3rd and then the team exploded in the 4th quarter starting with Q-Rich's hustle/rebounding/defense on Carmelo and Jameer scoring at will.

Magic play way better when Q-Rich and Earl Clark are in the game based off hustle/rebounding/defense. I hope this win leads to more minutes for both of them, especially Q.

seriously wtf. I turned it off at halftime because they looked pretty bad and Wade and James were on fire. then when I turned it back on, they were down by like 18, so I turned it back off. then the next time I turned it on, they were up by like 5. crazyness.

James still doesnt seem worried. He said they could lose all the remaining games left in the season and still make the playoffs. And that in the playoffs all teams start over 0-0Swanogt19

if he loses the rest of the games in the season good luck to him and the heat who would have to face someone like the Celtics, Magic or Bulls in the first round which the Heat cannot beat.  He might say he's not worried but trust me he's worried

Got no idea why the Magic didn't go after him or Gerald Wallace (who got traded for nothing) this year. 

Honestly Iggy is underated in a lot of ways however he's one of the last guys in the world I wanna see with the ball in his hands at the end of games.

He sucks as a #1 guy, but on the Thunder, Magic, Mavericks etc. I swear he could be the greatest 3rd option there ever was.

Knicks 7-7 since the Melo trade. Lost against Detroit tonight. I don't understand why they keep losing to these bad teams. Is their defense really that bad? Was it that much better prior to the trade? I haven't been watching the games but it looks like they're scoring just fine looking at the box scores.

On a sidenote the Nuggets are 9-3 since the trade. Magic beat them tonight with a game winning 3 from Jameer Nelson. Never should've been in that situation if Hedo and Bass made their ft's in the last minute. I like the Nuggets though. Very well rounded team and playing Ty lawson and Felton together at the same time is an interesting combo.

I fell asleep at halftime of the Bulls game and woke up at the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Lakers vs Suns. 3 overtimes!!

Kobe was missing a ton of shots at the end of the game and in overtime. Still came up with some big plays like the pass while flying out of bounds to Gasol and the 3pter.

lmao at Artest blowing kisses to the crowd after the 3 and kissing his biceps after the steal + breakaway dunk.

Lakers should be happy Grant Hill fouled out because once Vince came in the Lakers blew the door open.
