Fallout 3 is a must buy. You can do all the quests, all the notes, explore TONS of areas (which never really gets old, because most of them are varied and the combat is addictive as hell), gather all the unique weapons and armors (takes a looooong time) and find all the bobbleheads (takes a looooooooong time as well, even with a guide). And all of that is actually appealing to do. You'll never feel like it's a chore. I played the game for months before I put it down. Plus, it ages really well. I have gotten urges to play through it all again recently, and I accomplished everything like months ago. elpooz
nice, thats the comments I was looking for...something to make me want to play
Anybody ever play Tales of Vesperia? I'm thinking about copping that and Lost Odysssey with FNR4. I want some JRPG's to play cause I'm kinda tried of WRPG's. Are these two games any good? fat_rob
Tales of Vesperia is a great game. Probably one of my favorite battle systems ever. If you still have a Gamecube or have a Wii you should pick up Tales of Symphonia instead though. Same game design and battle system, but much better imo. But you really can't go wrong with either.
LO is a good game. Initially, it can take a while to get into and the text segments are a little too long and boring, but as you go on it becomes much more interesting and you start to respect the text segments more, because they are extremelly well written and become more and more approachable over time. The turn-based battle system can get old after a while (like in any game) but there is this ring system that makes them more engaging than the average.
I'd get all 3 of those if I were you. But if you don't have a GC or Wii, don't go out of your way to play TOS. It's VERY good and pretty far ahead of the other games in its series and many JRPGs, but TOV is satisfying enough. Also, if you have a PS2/PS3 Tales of the Abyss is worth playing (same engine and such as TOV and TOS).
I'll try to think of some other JRPGs you should play...

Oh and the fact that its a sandbox adds TONS of hours to it. Honestly, I think I've spent a good 20 hours just going on rampages in F3. There are tons of settlements which you can just plain wipe out. It's unbelievably satisfying. Walking into a settlement with the some of the more powerful weapons and just letting loose on hordes of guards (Rivet City) or slavers (Paradise Falls) is incredible fun. The combat is that satisfying. If you ever enjoyed randomly gunning through streets in a GTA game, GET THIS. It is just as, if not more, fun to do that in F3. Plus, it is challenging. In GTA, you can just pop cheats in and go on forever. But you actually have to play well in F3 to take down some of the larger settlements.
And there is that drag-and-drop system from Oblivion. That can be extremely entertaining. Blowing people apart and lifting their body parts around never gets old :P... however ****ed up that sounds.
annnnd, there is house design and filling. That isn't too captivating, but it's kinda cool to be able to turn your house into a museum, placing tons of unique items on your shelves and such.

I played TOS on GC...never finished (cause I borrowed from a friend), but I may cop that too and finish it eventually. I think I'll cop TOV then if it's like TOS. TOS owned. How long is LO?fat_rob
40+ hours. More with all the extra stuff. 40+ is all the primary stuff and some extra.
TOS is better but they didn't change too much in TOV, so if you liked TOS getting TOV is a good idea.
I finally beat FFVIII and Banjo Kazooie these past few days:D
I got to the final boss fight of Banjo Kazooie way back in the day when I was younger but had a lot of trouble beating it... then eventually forgot about it. I'm not gonna lie it still took me like 10 tries to beat Gruntilda this time around:lol: I didn't have enough jiggys to get the red honeycombs to double my life which would've helped a lot.
With FFVIII I was at the end of disc 3 and then eventually just stopped playing it so I went back to it to finish it up. I did the Deep Sea Research Center sidequest and then went to fight the boss. That time warp stuff doesn't make any sense lol but it's still a great game.
I do not have a next gen console, so most of my gaming revolves around beating old games I have. I have Max Payne, Devil May Cry, Xenosaga, Ico, Metroid Prime 2, Dragon Quest VIII, Viewtiful Joe, Eternal Darkness, MGS 3, and others laying around that I still need to finish up...
It should be ^
And yeah, that game was dope. I miss long ass rpgs like that...
You need to get a 360 lando :?. You're missing out on some really good games...
The DSi owns btw. Just an overall nice package... the apps are cool... and the interface just seems really advanced, because of how damn easy it is to navigate. GTA Chinatown Wars is possibly the best GTA game I have ever played after Vice City. I might even end up liking it more. It doesn't have the graphics, framerate, etc.. of the past ones (although the graphics are epic... the art style is innovative as hell and works amazingly. it's like cell-shading, but not quite) but it is just plain fun. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game because it was simply fun... probably Pokemon Red when I was like 6 or 7 lol.
Anyway... if you're looking for handheld and don't have one, get this. Tons of RPGs on it (FF, DQ, etc..) and other great titles (all the Marios bascically, Zelda, GTA, etc..). And the system just owns all together. I'm loving the online shop... I got the Mario vs Dk game and its amazing. There are some other good puzzle/adventure games too.
Himura, yes PS2 is backwards compatible with PS1 games. I have a few PS1 games like FFVII, FFVIII, and my bro has a couple Mega Man games but thats it.
and now some video game talk...
My consoles were like this:
Sega Genesis ---> SNES ----> N64 -----> PS2 -----> Gamecube
Most of my games are from the N64 and PS2 era. I wish I would've gotten Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and Super Metroid for SNES when I was younger but I didn't know anything about games back then. I got Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, and a couple Marios to name a few. I did rent a lot of the cIassic games from Blockbuster at least though.
N64 was really what made me love videogames and is my fave console. Mario 64 and Zelda: OoT were revolutionary. Looking at Mario 64 now it doesn't look like it has that much detail but just giving you a 3D world to explore like that was crazy back then. Pretty cliche but OoT is my fave game of all-time. I remember being a gaming noob back then since I hadn't played a Zelda game before and I couldn't even get past the first dungeon until my friend showed me (pushing blocks and setting the spiderwebs on fire lol). But once I figured out how to play the game it was mindlbowing so that always sticks out for me. I was in like 4th and 5th grade when these games came out by the way. And the N64 had amazing multiplayer games like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Super Smash Bros too. I know I missed out on a lot with PS1 but I still do think N64 was better.
A few weeks ago my brother's friend gave him a Dreamcast + two controller and a few games like Sonic, Ikaruga, and Jet Grind Radio for free so I have that now too...
Never had anything by Microsoft so when I do get a new console I might get a 360 but for the time being I think I'm kinda leaning toward PS3. I really have no idea though. Is the 360 backwards compatible with Xbox?
and elpooz my bro has a DS so I'll play that a little. He also has a PSP but I don't really use it. I played Gameboy Advance a ton and had games like Zelda Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion & Metroid Zero Mision, both Golden Suns, Castelvania Circle of the Moon, Aria of Sorrow, and Harmony of Dissonance but I haven't done much handheld gaming since then.
^ I didn't mean any game being backwards compatible; I meant FF8 specifically.TheHimura
why would it make any difference if its FF8 or any other game? I thought all PS1 games could be played on a PS2.

Oh hmm, I thought it was only some games, not all. Either way I'm gonna have to dig up FF8 so it's all the same to me.
Dreamcast owns. 2nd best console after N64. Soooo many good games for that... make sure you pick up the Sonic Adventure games and the Shenmue games... I still play both pretty often. MVC and MVC2 are also great games, but I'm guessing you've already played them since they are so popular.
I can't wait to get the rest of the DS games I want... there are like 15. And another 10 or so that are not out yet.
Did anyone play the God of Wars series? It's really one of the most epic games I've ever played. Especally when you do it on the hardest diffculty it's awesome. God of War 3 looks amazing but I don't have a PS3. :(
Extended Demo:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
If you have to look at anything look at the eyeball ripping at part four. Definitely up there as most violent moves I've seen on a video game.

Never played a GOd OF War game
Maybe when i get a PS3 someday ill get to play it
It should be one of the first games you should get.
The story is awesome because they tie in all the weapons and characters from Greek Mythology. They make the killing off of the heros and gods so over the top it's insane. People been saying at the end of GOW 3 it's even gonna have to do with Jesus.:?
- DSi is VERY awesome. I bought one 2 weeks ago with Chrono Trigger, Pokemon Platinum, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. It's just so damn sleek and what not. The only thing I don't like is the matin look, I preferred the glossy finish of the DS Lite. I played Chrono Trigger before and it's my second favourite game of all-time. Pokemon Platinum is also nice as hell. FE: SD is...a disappointment to say the least.
- Before this incident occurred, I was playing Street Fighter IV almost religiously. I bought TWO TE Sticks so I can have a friend play. I gotta say that game cost my a small fortune. Anyone else still play it? Any other fighters? You know King of Fighters XII is coming out VERY soon.
- On the PC front, the StarCraft II beta is coming up really soon. If you want get it you gotta go too www.battle.net and set-up your Blizzard account. Once you do that, register some Blizzard games and change your Beta profile settings and there you go.
- I have been playing a few games on this laptop. Mind you it's not good for gaming but it gets the job done. Anyone in OTB play Company of Heroes or Left 4 Dead? Hit me up if you want too play.
- I also pre-ordered Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX off of www.play-asia.net and those games are gonna be sick as heeeeell.
All I got too say now. 8)

DSI lol
Haha?Well I still have my N64, my dreamcast and ps1. My ps2 broke like 2 years ago. The only next gen console I have is a Wii, speaking of which I just bought the rock band 2 pack so I can just buy the beatles rock band game because there's no way in hell I'm gonna waste 250 bucks for replicas of George and John's Guitars and Paul's bass. But they do look nice:
But 250 bucks? Really harmonix?
I don't get why people hate on the DS/Dsi. You can say it's for kids or 12 year olds or whatever, but at the end of the day it is just plain fun. It has tons of good games, a lot of which are from the Mario world which is just ownage, because we all miss those Mario days on the 64. And the DSi has tons of cool ish on it. People say the camera is horrible, but considering the size of the screen your pics go on, it works really well. Plus the editing offers a lot.
Pulse I'll hit you up soon about FCs... I have Platinum too, just haven't started playing it really. Been too busy with GTA. You need to get that dude... it is pretty much amazing. DL that Mario vs Dk or Mighty Flip Champs btw (from the shop)... both really good titles. I'd say Mario vs Dk is better though. If you're into more direct puzzle games, get one of the Artstyles. I've never really enjoyed complete puzzle games, but I've heard all of the AS games own.

Oh and thanks for mentioning FE ... I was gonna get cause I loved FE on the GBA but now my doubts about it are confirmed ;).elpoozYeah, the game is a big disappointment. Way too many characters and the plot is lacking. It's still good if you want the same Fire Emblem challenge we all love.
StarCraft II Battle Report 3
Looks amazing. Check it out.

I saw that eariler. I can't believe Protoss won even after they were down they whole game.
Just hope everything is well balanced when the game comes out.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get the DLC for Fallout 3/GTA4/COD5 without Live? Like purchasing them physically?
BTW, Aljosa, have you been able to play Pokemon online? I tried it at first with my home WPA2 connection, and that didn't work. So I found a WEP one and tried that, but I still get an error message. I'm confused as hell right now... Also what do you have in your party/how far are you? I need ideas on what to catch because I keep getting owned by that weird water-gym leader.
CMN/Aljosa/Whoever has a DS...
I have Platinum, GTA, and PH right now. Mario & Luigi 2 is on the way. I was wondering which game(s) (2, maybe 3, at the most) I should get next out of these...
DSi wi-fi is pretty stupid. It lets me connect to the DSi Shop but won't let me play Pokemon Platinum online. It's so annoying.
Pokemon Platinum isn't supported by that WEP thing I think, that's what it says for me, though the DSi menu lets me connect with ease. It's so annoying.
Edit: My party right now is like this...
Empoleon - Level 40
Staraptor - Level 35
Flareon - Level 34
Luxray - Level 38
Gardevoir - Level 36
That's my lineup right there, and I'm at Canalave City which is the the 6th gym, I think.

Yeah it's ****ing confusing me :?. Kinda wack because everything about the DSi flows so well and is so accessible. I'm gonna try my games at my girl's house and see if that works because her internet has no security at all...
Damn... our parties our basically the same. I have...
Empoleon - 36
Flareon - 30
Luxray - 31
Kadabra - 33
Staravia - 29
Machoke - 31
I guess I'll just grind more and try to beat him then... I'm kinda regretting leveling Staravia so much... it hasn't been coming in handy lately besides it being able to use Fly. How useful is he/she after the evolution?
When it learns Aerial Ace it becomes very effective and Fly is a hell of a move also. Lol and yeah our teams are pretty damn similar.Yeah it's ****ing confusing me :?. You shouldn't have much trouble with the water gym leader, his pokemon are pretty bad except for the last one. Just go to that one city with the huge pokemon mart and buy some TM's. One of them teaches Thunder so give that to Luxray and the battle will be hella easy.
Staravia is a very good Pokemon when it evolves at Level 34. Totally worth it and Staraptor looks so cool.
Just beat Team Galactic completely and caught the legendary. It is beaaaastly... I'm going to level him now and buy him hyper beam and some other moves. I stuck with Stararaptor and you were right, it's very useful. With Close Combat, Take Down, Fly and Steel Wing, it's basically good agaisnt any kind of enemy. Close Combat is complete ownage..
Anyway... just got my live people! Give me gamertags. I'll post about this in its thread to... but... I have GTA4, COD:WAW, Riddick: Dark Athena, COD2, Soul Calibur 4, GRAW, LOTR:BFME2, and Halo Wars as multi games... hit me up if you want to play. I'm fairly good at GTA4, but haven't tried the rest online...
lol at the Conduit review. Fanboys flipped in the comments. I had to drop a bomb on them for hating on Mcshea... He is that dude ...

Id play you on COD2, love that game, use to play it to death, i was a beast too, use to be #1 all the time
Still have it? I'll add your tag when I get home from work.... don't let me the Ghewter... you will be OWNED. Me + that rifle = murdaaa. Haven't played it in forever though...
I would play you in WAW but I have no prestige so you'd have advantages for days lol...
Is Prototype any good?
Whats a good game to rent?
rented Bionic Comando last week, it was alright, could have been way better if there where more bosses.
Mkavanaugh77
What systems you have homie? Prototype is good... Hotspot spoke on a lot a few shows ago. Basically, fun as hell but it can be waaay too hard at some parts and frustrating as hell... It looks awesome though. You can do pretty much anything, eat people (badass), run up walls... jump across roofs, etc... it's like infamous but with an evil, confused, messed up main character who consumes people and has parasitic arms and ****.
