[QUOTE="poptart"]GOD MADE LIGHT IN TRANSIT SO HUMANS COULD HAVE LIGHT IN THE NIGHT SKY GOD DAMN IT IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!God created 'light in transit' to fool us into thinking the earth is older than it actually is? I can only assume that was the old testament god before he matured a bit the little trickster. Stiill he's paying the price now what with the all these atheists running amok... In fact it would make more sense to suggest the devil made these beams of light when god had one of his infinite number of backs turned. The devils beams of light made atheists as without them they'd be in a pickle.
SaintWalrus
You shouldn't blaspheme - god still still has a bee in his holy bonnet about it regardless if you're man woman child or even walrus. And if they're saints, well, the harder the spank they get. Be warned, saintwalrus.
1. If God created everything, who created GOD?
Answer: God created time, thus the beginning does not apply to him, because he created it.
2. If the earth is only 10,000 years old, explain starlight and how it takes billions of years to reach earth
Answer: God created that light in transit.
3. Why is the Old testament God so evil? (I.E why did he maul 42 children with bears?)
You must remember that My god...OUR god is a kind and wonderful God. And like us, our God is a jealous God. He also is a forgiving God. He saw the error of his ways and gladly changed. And those children deserved their wrath. God warned them and they disobeyed God. And so God sent his wrath upon the wicked.
SaintWalrus
1. God is unnecessary in that one. The singluarity is just as likely to have started time. Where that came ron, we don't know. But the fact that we don't doesn't give god a free pas. You still have to explain where he came from.
2. Why, if the universe is so young, would god go to so much trouble to make it seem old? Any time some one points to an old universe, creationists just argue that the universe was "created old." or something to that effect. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way. There's no evidence that the universe is youn but created old 6000 years ago, but there is evidence that the universe is old and was formed long ago.
3. How can a kind and wonderful god be jealous? Those are two contradictory claims. If god himself is jealous, why is jealousy on of the 7 deadly sins? If god is forgiving, why do we all have to pay for the mistake Adam and Eve made in the Garden of Eden? If god is perfect (I know you never said he is, but people often do about their gods,) then why would he make a mistke and have to change? Shouldn't he have had it righ from the begining. And the wrath god imposes on people is horrible. Infinite punishment for finite crimes?
Even if your god does exist, he's nt worthy of worship.
But I'm wondering if this is a serious thread. These are very basic argumnts the have been debunked hundreds of times.
The only religions that make sense to me are Pantheism, Buddhism, Taoism and maybe even Hinduism but the Abrahamic religions on the other hand (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) must better die quickly for the betterment of humanity.
The Abrahamic religions are dangerously authoritarian religions in the sense that they posit a dictatorial God or being which is above humans that gives orders and you must do exactly as he tells you to do otherwise you will be punished and be sent to Hell. This is clearly barbaric nonsense.
Buddhism, Pantheism and Taosim on the other hand are peaceful religions because they do not give orders and they strive for equality between human beings because they don't posit the existence of an oppressive being who is above humanity in power and authority.

Talking out his ass? Where's Z when you need to him to get on the Buddhism is peaceful argument?Hell... Punishment... Peaceful...Buddhism...pariah3You souls probably spend some time learning a little more about Buddhism. Not only does it have a "Hell" but it is far more brutal than the Christian one, even of the Middle Ages. Then there is the doctrine of karma, which is a retributive force (a more specialized cause and effect) that doles out punishment many thousands of lives later for finite mistakes. There was never a point, that I can recall, that historically, Buddhism could ever be referred to as a "peaceful" religion. Most instances, those who practiced it, also practiced martial techniques and committed acts of violence against other people, within their own nation no less. I can give you pantheism and Daoism (the first isn't exactly an established, institutional religion though)... but I could never give you Buddhism. The Buddha was attributed some really interesting and positive sayings... but the religion built around them wasn't a positive movement for humanity.
The first point isnt as absurd as it sounds. Because it's similar to what existed before the big bang. I've heard explanations that time and the laws of the universe did not exist before the big bang. The other two points are, however, absurd.
I believe in God and I am a well known poster who stands up for religion and religious people on here, but your post TC is just terrible. An MS E3 is starting in a few minutes so I don't have the time for this. (Though I am really looking forwar to Sony's and Nintendo's confrences).

I don't have to prove it The bible tells me so And the bible is flawless because It was written by God.[QUOTE="worlock77"][QUOTE="SaintWalrus"] Ok, Go show me where Tartarus is OR better yet Go talk to Atlas and ask him how the weather is? I don't have to prove it The bible tells me so And the bible is flawless because It was written by God.- Yes, you do.
- You believe everything you read?
- No, it isn't.
- No, it wasn't. Not even the most stubbornly devout Christians will claim that the Bible was actually written by God himself.
