[QUOTE="PannicAtack"]So did Laihendi ever say what charges he thinks Obama should be impeached on?Laihendi

Being a black, liberal-in-name-but-moderate-right-in-practice President, who isn't the almight Elijah Wood, is my guess.

That's what you democrats always do. Anytime someone makes legitimate criticisms about Obama you accuse them of being racist. I don't care about Obama's ethnicity. I care about the fact that he is a collectivist who does everything he can to circumvent and undermine the constitution after swearing an oath (twice) to uphold it. I am not a racist, but Obama is. Obama supports affirmative action and his collectivist policies steal from middle and upper class citizens (mostly caucasian) and redistribute to the lower classes (mostly racial minorities).

Are you Sean Hannity? If not then you must be a big fan. He (you?) says that stuff almost everyday on his show. It's obviously very effective.

I have plenty of criticism of Obama, but they are legitimate and based in fact, not conservative paranoia. He has compromised too much on important legislation like the ACA, and has let the House GOp take the economy hostage in the debt crisis. He has used drone strikes far too much and hasn't promoted peace talks between Israel and Palestine.

What is your evidence that the lower class in the US is primarily minorities? Do you know how many poor, white Americans you are?

As far as Affirmative Action: you do realize that it was begun under a white President and continued through subsequent white Presidents. What makes Obama any different?

I don't understand how the Fox News Conservative crowd can continue to spew this nonsense. The poorest states in the country are red states. Yet they turn around and say that their brand of Republican is the answer for our economic woes. Stop repeating what Rush and Glenn are saying on talk radio and open our eyes.

Is Obama really so bad? I think he's doing a good job so far, especially considering the mess he inherited. It seems to me like most people don't even want to give him a chance.

True, but the recent indications for the economy have been very positive, so there shouldn't be as much criticism of Obama's economic policies.

I do not give a flying f*ck what your favorite P. Diddy song is. I know this thread isn't exactly quality, but still, why you insist on spamming up the boards with random, irrelevant and inconsequential sh*t is absolutely beyond comprehension. Haven't you been warned about this kind of sh*t before?

You had previously mentioned something about this thread being bumped. I was joking with the question and if you did reply I would've set "Bump Bump Bump".

Why you got to be so angry-man, take a chill-pill or go squeeze some stress balls.

I think most of Obamas ideas are right for the country, I would lay much of the blame with the ultra-conservative Republicans who are blocking him, particularly in the House. Boehner thinks Obama is trying to "annhilate the Republican Party", sounds like sour grapes from a group thats out-of-touch with the American people.

But I have said before in my Poll thread that I wanted Hillary Clinton to be President in 2008, I think she would have accomplished more and been a better president. She has my support in 2016 if she runs unless someone on the Republican side can actually convince me otherwise, which isn't likely. I'll have to look more into this Marco Rubio guy, don't know much about him.

I don't know if the House is really "blocking" Obama except on things that they feel are bad for the country. Afterall they did let the debt ceiling raise, did pass a fiscal cliff deal, and did pass some laws to help people with jobs.

They did do those things to the objection of the most conservative parts of the majority party, who keep screaming in Boehner's ear. Far more useful legislation would be done if he could control his caucus. There would have been no debt ceiling fight, sequester, and the approval rating of Congress might be above 10.

I think the approval rating of Congress is above 10. And the conservatives have a right to be upset at some of those things, for instance the fiscal-cliff bill did nothing to reduce spending and it led to an increase of taxes on the majority of American taxpayers while giving the film industry a multi-million dollar tax credit.

If you look at poverty rates they are disproportionately high among racial minorities. Also every other president who supports affirmative action is racist too, not just Obama. @ Abbeten - AA is inherently racist because is disadvantages caucasians, and welfare programs create a disproportionately high rate of government dependency among racial minorities due to wealth distribution by racial demographic.

right, i forgot laihendi was one of those people who thinks that welfare actually hurts poor people somehow anyway, one could support affirmative action either through the belief that caucasians have a natural advantage by the virtue of not having been enslaved for centuries and the victim of institutionalized racism until fifty years ago and that AA programs would help level the proverbial playing field or through the belief that the free exchange of ideas in, say, a college campus is facilitated by culling a diverse student body

Anything that favors one racial demographic over another is racist by definition. Affirmative action is institutionalized racism, and if you are against racism and for equal opportunity then you cannot support a program that disadvantages someone due to his race.

Also colleges should be accepting the most qualified applicants, regardless of race. Any college that takes an applicant's race into consideration when deciding whether to admit him is a racist institution, and such irrational admissions procedures create inferior student bodies, inferior colleges, and ultimately inferior societies.

that is, again, a highly unnuanced view of racism

if it is to be conceded that society in it's current condition favors whites over blacks, then supporting one racial demographic in certain circumstances so as to correct for this bias can be considered emphatically not-racist

moreover if 'qualified' counts for more than just 'having high grades in high school,' coming from a different racial background than the dominant majority groups on campus could be considered a valid qualification in terms of being able to improve the diversity of the student body and such.

This society does not favor caucasians over anyone, because that is the only race subject to laws designed for the sole purpose of disadvantaging it. And racial background has nothing to do with qualification for a university. GPA, test scores, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation are what determine one's qualification for admittance into a university. Those are the things that let the university know what kind of student he is. Race has nothing to do with what kind of student he is. @sandwich - I never said anything about trees

[QUOTE="Laihendi"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"][QUOTE="Laihendi"] This society does not favor caucasians over anyone, because that is the only race subject to laws designed for the sole purpose of disadvantaging it.

Do you know what the term "privilege" means?

Do you know what the concept "equality before the law" means?

If you think that affirmative action or welfare violates equal protection, feel free to hire a lawyer and challenge it. However, you have also deflected my question.

Let's make it happen. I'm sure tha kraychik is lurking around somewhere.

I actually don't think he is. He's got a style of writing that would stick out and never struck me as the sort who would have refrained from grabbing up a new account for this long.

Yeah I don't think he's alive on GS right now. But you could always try the e-mail he signed up with (assuming it's not mailinator lol).

A privilege is an advantage given to one person to the exclusion of another. Affirmative action gives privileges to anyone who isn't caucasian at the expense of those who are. If gives people privileges because of the colour of their skin. It is inherently racist.

Are you living in the US? If so, in a hole since the country's inception?

Please explain how this society favours caucasians when they are the only race subject to laws designed for the sole purpose of disadvantaging them.

[QUOTE="Abbeten"]

that is, again, a highly unnuanced view of racism

I don't think Lai believes in nuances. Input a 1 or a 0 or he will cease functions and lock up.

The thing that saddens me in this thread the most.....

I will consider postponing if you tell me why you want it postponed and I think it's a good reason.

I think, and I could be wrong because Dave does have vaguely robotic tendencies that sometimes inhibit getting a clear read on him if you're not a cyborg, but I THINK he's making a mildly stated complaint on how long things are taking.

I doubt that considering that we are making better time than any previous year I am aware of, and he was recently complaining about people complaining about how long the OTcars were taking due to the fact that it was taking less time than previous years.

It allows people to get broader perspective on users. The extra time also allows for a truer sense of what OT thinks and not just them rushing through their votes. It also gives a better chance that even more people will participate since they will be feel less guilt at voting without borders.
