I used to think of IRA, right and left wing nutjobs,and Arab terrorists. Now when I hear of a terrorist event, I usually think of islamic extremist. Yes, it is a big stereotype, but that's the first thought that hits my mind.
I'll be honest, yes I do. Not that Arabs are terrorists but that the terrorist is from that part of the world. Of course I know they aren't the only terrorists though as they come frome very country on the globe.
No I don't. I don't really think of anything specific. Terrorists come from all over the globe. They can be French, British, American, Middle Eastern, Asian, ect.
Yes, yes I do It's pretty much because the only terrorist you see in the news are arab/muslim extremists. Bombay, 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel. But of course this is just what comes into mind at first. There are terrorist as you mention from Ireland, Japan and latest now in Norway. But I am not from America btw. European.

Sometimes I do, other times my initial thought is people like Tim mcveigh or the unibomber. On the other side of that, when I hear the word Arab, I don't think terrorist.
This time frame that is the case more often than not....in other time frames....other groups were apt to spring to mind. That said.....I find out the story before making an assessment. Not all terrorists are middle eastern...though that is the majority...currently.

Historically? No it isn't. Terrorism is something that has been done in every racial group and religious group historically.. Even the ones we attempt to defend and call "gurrilla warfare"..

Unfortunately, yes. I'm not sure how much of it is media influenced, and how much of it is due to the fact that Islamic Terrorist groups (made up of primarily middle easterners) have been very active lately, but it's definitely where my mind goes. Naturally, I realize that arab=/=terrorist as I'm not a tool, but there is something to be said about sub-conscious associations.
