Is Symphony X some new crazy alloy or something? Regardless, it sounds like it has amazing properties.Listening to the new Symphony X album.

Septic Flesh, Enslaved, CynicDivergeUnifyGood man. 8) Speaking of metal, I'm open to almost any genre of metal, some of my other favorite metal bands are Black Sabbath, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, (old) Children of Bodom, (old) Metallica, Megadeth, (old) Anthrax, Exumer, Testament, Machine Head, Saxon, Atheist, Gojira, Trepalium, Mastodon, Down, Lamb of God, Chimaira, etc.
My two favorites are Anaal Nathrakh and Trivium. The other bands I listen to are mostly metalcore, some black metal, some death metal, and some melodic death metal. I usually can't stand crappy production quality which ruins a lot of it for me.
[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"]Yea but have them listen to August Burns Red, All Shall Perish (more deathcore really) Unearth, I love death metal and more extreme forms, but if it's good.. its good thats the way i see it, and i love those bands you mentioned. i had an august burns red sig up for a whilei enjoy metalcore, although it gets a lot of hate from the "real metalheads"

Started listening to Metal music 8years ago and never looked back. My only regret that i didnt start earlier and missed some great concerts i doubt i will see now
Favorite bands are Iced Earth, Pantera, Down, Iron Maiden, Manowar , SOAD, anathema ,Tool, Ramstein and Rage against
Like most metal guys i like rock. ( AC/Dc , Pink floyd, Deep purple, Hendrix and stuff ).
Also love reggae and some good old hip hop ( not nowdays rap music but stuff like Warren G, Bone thugs and Harmony, Notorious, Mos Def ). I also like greek rock and Low Bap ( especially a greek band named Active Member )
That's because metalcore isn't part of the metal genre. its a subgenre of metal.[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"]

[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"]That's because metalcore isn't part of the metal genre. its a subgenre of metal. A metalcore band counting as metal or not would depend on the band. Some metalcore bands like Lamb of God leans towards more the metal side than the hardcore side, so they count as metal. Metalcore bands that lean towards more the hardcore side than the metal side don't really count as metal, though.[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"]

Totalselfhatred's first album has good quality. I have some Burzum songs from Filosofem because I like the sound the crappy production gives it. But usually they just sound like crap. Dark Funeral is okay

totalselfhatred is decent... bands like coldworld do the the depressive theme a lot better though...
darkthrone will always be the mac daddy of black metal

I've heard about Joey coming back. The new song is kinda disappointing to me, though. Also, for non-metal, I like rock, video game music, funk, and some electronic. I'm open to pretty much open to anything except for country, most rap, most pop, and crunkcore.[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"][QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"] That's because metalcore isn't part of the metal genre.its a subgenre of metal. its popularity kinda disproves that lol. i will agree that some metalcore bands lean more towards hardcore like the devil wears prada (aside from zombie ep)but the heavier metalcore is defintely metal like august burns red
and metalcore drummers are pretty awesome you have to admit!
I used to listen to a lot of metal, but my taste chanced, I still listen to some Iron Maiden once in a while though.LonelynightThat's because they're the best band. :P

dayum lolMainly a fan of prog metal/rock. Favourite prog is definitely Riverside, also enjoy Tool, Indukti, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and some others.
Other favourite metal artists would have to be Katatonia, Control Denied, Death, Blindspott, Nine Inch Nails.
Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Katatonia shall soon be on repeat since summer is ending. Throughout fall and winter, those bands' cds are in endless rotation for meMainly a fan of prog metal/rock. Favourite prog is definitely Riverside, also enjoy Tool, Indukti, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and some others.

Clean vocals on the new fleshgod Apocalypse are appaling Horrendous! I respect him wanting to try something new, but come on[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"][QUOTE="nitroRCman"] Yea I tend to show Gojira to my "non metal head" friends, Fleshgod's new CD was very repetitious, a couple are really good but the drummer needs an ambien every now and then lol nitroRCman
Loving the new album at the moment. I don't mind the clean vocals, besides the first time when I heard Oracles my thoughts went directly to Hour Of Penance. There's no connection now. The obvious drawback is the guitar work but I can deal with it. Septicflesh has these same problems with their compositions, almost all the guitar tracks are just that palm muted chugga-chugga (lol), I still like the band though.
Backin this up 8)hey you guys know whats metal this is whats metal aw yeah buddy

And the guitars get drowned in the orchestral mix (solos pop out at least)Please Log In to post.
