Is Symphony X some new crazy alloy or something? Regardless, it sounds like it has amazing properties.

My two favorites are Anaal Nathrakh and Trivium. The other bands I listen to are mostly metalcore, some black metal, some death metal, and some melodic death metal. I usually can't stand crappy production quality which ruins a lot of it for me.

A metalcore band counting as metal or not would depend on the band. Some metalcore bands like Lamb of God leans towards more the metal side than the hardcore side, so they count as metal. Metalcore bands that lean towards more the hardcore side than the metal side don't really count as metal, though.

Totalselfhatred's first album has good quality. I have some Burzum songs from Filosofem because I like the sound the crappy production gives it. But usually they just sound like crap. Dark Funeral is okay

I've heard about Joey coming back. The new song is kinda disappointing to me, though. Also, for non-metal, I like rock, video game music, funk, and some electronic. I'm open to pretty much open to anything except for country, most rap, most pop, and crunkcore.

If its fast heavy and loud. I like it. As long as its not some group of generic sounding punks. Which there are a lot of. I listened to classic rock, hair metal (father being the influence) as well as rap/hip hop, heavy metal (brothers being the influence) to Nu-metal, melodic death, and so so so sooo much more.

Mainly a fan of prog metal/rock. Favourite prog is definitely Riverside, also enjoy Tool, Indukti, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and some others.

Other favourite metal artists would have to be Katatonia, Control Denied, Death, Blindspott, Nine Inch Nails.

Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Katatonia shall soon be on repeat since summer is ending. Throughout fall and winter, those bands' cds are in endless rotation for me

[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"][QUOTE="nitroRCman"] Yea I tend to show Gojira to my "non metal head" friends, Fleshgod's new CD was very repetitious, a couple are really good but the drummer needs an ambien every now and then lol nitroRCman

Clean vocals on the new fleshgod Apocalypse are appaling

Horrendous! I respect him wanting to try something new, but come on

Loving the new album at the moment. I don't mind the clean vocals, besides the first time when I heard Oracles my thoughts went directly to Hour Of Penance. There's no connection now. The obvious drawback is the guitar work but I can deal with it. Septicflesh has these same problems with their compositions, almost all the guitar tracks are just that palm muted chugga-chugga (lol), I still like the band though.

And the guitars get drowned in the orchestral mix (solos pop out at least)
