First off, the following opinion is just a guess based on observation and thought, and I don't intend to pass it off as a final word on anything. So please don't flame me. :(

Well, from what I can gather, I think the reason this fetish exists is because its just another form of how the male ego and desire would dominate a submissive or easily submissive woman. The fact that the fetish requires the girls to be young, naive, and childlike in manner might attest to this, since they can be seen as traits that belong to girls/women that can be easily subjugated. Of course the media and corporations would use this to their advantage.

Of course, none of this could be true, as I can't read people's minds and I do not have any degree qualifying me for anything of that sort of study.

Getting surgery on their eyes? No kidding. A few years back, my co-worker and I were getting some lunch. And we saw this asian guy with ultra long hair that was spiked up like some of the characters on dragonball z, and it was colored with blue and brown. He had to have gone through so much gel to get that look. However I think that's just too much effort into something that's not really all that "cute" IMO.

I remember I worked at this toy store like in 1999, and this one asian guy came in wearing all blue hip hop style, but had a pasifire attached to a necklace in theme to his colored clothes and the pasifire was in his mouth with his hat all tilted and stuff. Right there, I don't get it. There's no cuteness in that, it just looks pathetic, childish and immature.

Going back the thing about schoolgirl uniforms, there is one reason and one reason alone why strippers and porn stars and "Hot Japanese women" wear schoolgirl uniforms. And that is because it reminds men of schoolgirls.

This is the kind of stereotypical attitude that I as an Asian hate. They need to stop being portrayed as submissive objects, because most of them are not, only the ones that soldiers and tourists tell about.
