Well, it's like this: Modern Japan is full of men who lack the confidence to approach women. Here, we know of the stereotypical nerds who are afraid of girls. However, in Japan, that's the average young adult male. Major corporations make millions off of reinforcing this mentality by developing dating sims, which further encourage some guys to give up on "real" girls. The fact that the average 20-30 year old is just as virginal and, therefore, hormonal as a teenager leads to a widespread acceptance of perverted, indecent, and disrespectful behavior. I'm sure you already know that used panties are sold in public vending machines. Young adults in japan frequently play a "game" where they guess the color of a girl's panties when they see her about to walk up the stairs, then go up behind her, look up her skirt, and see if they were right. I didn't know it had gone as far as public groping, but it's only the natural progression.

Of course, this discourages young women from bothering with most men, since most of them are perverted freaks, and as such damages the chance of a successful relationship even more. Even when they DO strike a relationship, (uncommon, but not exactly rare) they usually don't take it seriously, and treat it as a trivial thing, an agreement to spend time together and have sex, nothing more. They usually don't even think of progressing toward anything serious...like children.

And I guess, in a nutshell, that's it. Many of them behave like children with hormones. It's like, for whatever reason, they aren't growing up. How can someone marry and have kids when, maturity-wise, they aren't an adult?

Russian population is shrinking by 3 million people/year. And their society is nothing like japan. In fact japan owes it's large population to this free sexual discourse which has been going on for many centuries in their culture. China is the same, hence the 1.4 billion people, same as india and some middle eastern societies. America is saved by immigrants, japan doesn't have immigration. All advanced economies suffer negative demographic trends and population aging, thats whats causing japans demographic problems, not their inability to settle down like good little god fearing southerners and have a family..

Japanese society is far more sexually open like most of europe, unlike american society which frowns upon such things, due to religious and moral influences. Thats all it comes down to, it has nothing to do with japanese men being magically less confident than american men. I'm not making up japanese men "magically" being less confident, and it's certainly not magical, either. It's the negative effect of the humble attitudes that they value. Furthermore, their culture is one that gives great honor to those that succeed, and gives a whole lot of shame to those that don't.

Now...I'm going to guess and say that you thought that I said that they weren't having kids because they didn't get married and settle down? Unfortunately, that's universal, casual relationships rarely produce offspring no matter where you go because of a little thing called PROTECTION. It has absolutely nothing to do with morals, it's common sense. People don't have kids when they aren't taking said relationship seriously. Once again, common sense. Japanese relationships tend NOT to get taken seriously, or even last very long at all. That's one of the problems.

As someone who was bornto a Japanese mother and Caucasian American father, I feel I can cover all the bases with regards to Asian women. In my experience, there are 5 main types of Asians (just for the sake of simplicity, assume that Asians in Japan are representative of the entire Asian population as a whole).

(A) Asian-Americans girl: These, I have mostly encountered in university in the United States after graduating from high school in Japan. Completely Asian in physical appearance, but otherwise, not really Asian due to the environment they have been brought up in and the values that have been instilled in them. They may or may not speak their parent's language. A lot, dare I say most, will end up marrying another American and live in United States throughout their life.

(B) "Intelligent" Asian girls: For lack of a better word, I call these types of Asian girls "Intelligent." Even though they have lived in Asia for all their life, they have been able to attain a mastery of the English language (learning English is a requirement in public and most private schools). They are independent, ambitious, and above all very intelligent. They have aspirations that go beyond their own country, and often leave their country to study and work abroad. These women go to work for foreign/international companies that generally have much higher compensation (salary) then Japanese companies. The proto-typical successful career-women.

(C) Average Asian girls: Your run of the mill Asian girls. Nothing special. Will most likely live and work in their home country for the rest of their lives and will eventually marry within their own kind. Will finish high school and may go to a 4-year university or two year vocational/technical university and work for an average Japanese company. May speak some English, but not enough to do anything substantial with it. They will lead a average, uneventful, and perhaps even "boring"life. This makes up the majority of Asian girls in a country.

(D) Desperate Asian girls: Same as (C) except these Asian women are desperate to get out of their country and will actively pursue foreign partners (wealthy and successful expatriatesare generally the most soughtafter). Lots of variation here. Some are intelligent and some are not very bright... Some might be near native-like English speakers, and others can not speak a word of English...

(E) Asian girls with no morals: Same as (C) and in some cases (D), except these Asian women go into unsavory lines of work. Hostesses, escort services, stripping, prostitution, etc. Most girls in this category come from difficult backgrounds (i.e. broken families) and many have generally not even finished junior high school. But is love for dating sims and lack of serious relationships really a problem for Japan? How many more people can they fit on that resource starved bunch of islands? Isn't 130 million people enough? They have to import EVERYTHING. They can't even grow enough food due to lack of arable land.

They have a senior democraphic crisis because they have reached the apec of their economic system, people just don't want to have kids anymore, they have too much money and free time, so they go out and have fun, so now the old have nobody to look after them, tough, use robots or something.

Japanese (asian) women and men are very promiscuous, it doesn't have to result in serious relationships and kids, it just results in fun.

Aside from the economically induced aging population problem I don't see what is at issue here with the Japanese culture, it seems to be a very successful one.

I was born in London, England actually. I lived there for a couple years before we moved to Japan. My parents, of course, met in Japan... I have lived in Japan for most of my life until graduating from high school and going to the US for university.

This is ridiculous in terms of people who consider Asian women inferior or not real women by stereotyping them in a negative view that is not right. However, I'm also disgusted by the people who consider Asian women superior to other woman of different nationality. As a Filpino Canadian I can consider myself one of the separated asian groups that don't believe in the blood purity non sense. I find that I'm physically attracted to all sorts of women regardless of their nationality however I do not have any interest in them if they are just attractive, they need intelligence and virtues too. The fact is my parents are both Filipino but realize that the pure blood non sense isn't morally right and that racism should not be tolerated. My friends, relatives and family don't really put much emphaisis on race but rather which indiviual makes me happy. greenprince

Hey! I'm married to an Asian (filipino) and that doesn't catagorize us at all. She said she wasn't attracted to Caucasians at all due to thinking they were all rife with STDs. Luckily, she realized different when she moved out here. Oh and she is totally not submissive. I think 'Bobbitizing' is much more common over there than here...

But you do have a point with the 'whiteness' thing. My wife and her sisters actively avoid the sun and even put on baby powder daily, partially to appear slightly more pale. I think it's even more of a big deal in the Phillipines where a lot of filipinos have some Spanish blood, which is considered more beautiful than the pure Asian features.
