Agreed. A lot of people know of my being TG and I've had a lot of death threats, as well as my bedroom window smashed by yobs and treated like some thing by yobs. While my mum and my brother are accepting of it, as well as a few friends, there are many who think it's wrong of me to not be as they demand.

Until difference is accepted by humanity, anyone who doesn't conform to narrow minded demands are always at risk.

MasterC5

thats where the whole lying thing comes into play... our society is built for intolerance based upon unrealistic expectations, which leads to deception. if people were honest, we would have more realistic expectations, and thus be more tolerant. its really obvious

How the hell would telling everyone I meet upfront make pople more tolerant?

how would homosexual people coming out of the closet make the world more tolerant? Oh...... Isnt that what theyre doing? Also, just because theres still hate against homosexuals does not mean its as strong as it once was, because I know someone is just dying to make a crappy argument here. Brazil is a lot more accepting of transexuals. A lot of cultures are more accepting of them... Why? Because they dont hide it, and it starts to seem more normal. America has a lot of work to do, we need to destroy the puritanical roots of our culture, and it all starts with honesty.

Both the UK and the US are two such countries guilty of narrow minded demands towards anyone who doesn't conform to a very limited notion of life. Things like 'Be a man and do as we demand you to be' and 'Don't be yourself, be exactly as we demand' and other such things. The understanding of difference amongst billions of individuals has always been shot down, especially when religious zealots voice their opinions loudly.

Such views have caused a lot of damage throughout human history, not just with what we're discussing here, but with racism and many other things. So anyone who refuses to conform end up being forced to hide who they truly are, especially so if harmless and just wanting to live their life quietly, and have to livea lie just to suit narrow minded conformists.

Living the lie ends up being extremely hurtful and for some, it can cause madness and even worse. Every human being is an island unto themselves, as the saying goes. We can never be of one mind, one ideal like conformists demand. You just have to look at the internet and how opinions are regarded,if the opinion isn't one that conforms to the majority then it's seen as wrong and flawed.

I hope one day that humanity will be more accepting of one another, but at the state of things with humanity at this time, it's looking unlikely.

I've heard stories of operations leaving the genitalia in sorta of a numb state, meaning they can't feel the same sexual sensations as normal ones. Are you worried about that happening to you?

To be honest, no, not really. It's not like I think about such a thing all that often, I'm usually focused on fighting my disability and keeping busy. Dealing with the onslaught of my feelings now that they're all out in full is something I'm learning to live with and learning how to keep the feelings under control while doing as I always do.

actually the uk isnt that bad, especially in comparison to the US. but, you could say theyre not so good. Why do religious people dominate the values of a culture? because they put it out there, they(the more extreme) try to SILENCE others. I never said that society would agree with you, just that they would accept the fact that you are who you are. If you dont want to fight for who you are, then you are fighting against it. its that simple. If you dont want to help, you are hurting. Most of the internet is filled with kids who are either trolling or are just immature. Take it with a grain of salt.

turtlethetaffer

I don't want to be transgendered, I've tried my whole life to not be but it justisn't possilbe. I am truly not happy being a male, and I never will be. Nobody wants to be transgendered, if I could just ignore these feelings I would but it's not possible.

So there are what, 4 Transgender people that posted on this thread; I must say that's 3 more then I expected.

Also the US isn't that bad when it comes to tolerance, just certain sections.

typically when a male enters the womb eventually the hormone testosterone increases at a certain point. Sometimes it does not increase far enough, and thats the idea behind transexuality. many tests have been done, and many of them conclude that transexual men do think like women

No, because I have an awesome girlfriend that accepts me and almost zero sexual interest in men.

Why do you assume that transwomen only like men sexually.

It's interesting indeed how it's automatically assumed that anyone who's TG only has feelings for men or women, like MtF only being interested in men and FtM only being interested in women.
If anything it's not that clear cut, while some may have feelings in that way, not all do. I've mentioned before that I'm bi, so I have feelings for both genders, some MtF may continue to have feelings for women just as there's FtM who may continue to have feelings for men.

It's not clear cut at all and not as black and white as the media leads people to believe.

A transvestite is soembody that just plays the part occasionally, with no desire to live as the opposite gender full time. A pre op transgender has the desire to live as the opposite gender full time.

Pre op didn't go through operation. Transvestite is someone who identifies with the opposite gender. I think. These terms are all pretty complicated but I have two transgendered friends. There is Transvestite, Transsexual, Transgendered and many other terms, all of them uniquely different.

No they arent. In mammals, the sex of the offspring is determined by the sperm cell: a spermatozoon bearing a Y chromosome will lead to a male (XY) offspring, while one bearing an X chromosome will lead to a female (XX) offspring (the ovum always provides an X chromosome). Sperm cells were first observed by Anton van Leeuwenhoek in 1677.[1] Dont cherry pick science, because science hates that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_sperm

Thats true to an extent, although you're using deceptive words. All fetuses are treated as female in its earliest stages.

Does that EVER mean that the fetus is actually female? No dice. Definitely not. XY = Male.

That does not mean you had the full development cycle that a male usually gets. But it certainly does not make you a BIOLOGICAL female. You can however wish to live a life as a female, and thats fine. Just dont make crap up. I hate that.

Dont get me wrong i feel you have every right to do whatever makes you happy and i hav no problems with it at all..but for the transgenders who arent only attracted to females and have sex with men..its kind of fu***d up dont you think. some of the jobs they can do now make it look so that these men/women become acually veryattractive and in every way reallooking girls or guys. by medical standards since your getting the hormones of a female/male put into you i guess you are technically a girl/guy. but as a guy if i found out my girlfriend was ocne a guy i no i would be like appauled and disgusted since i did that with a guy(plz no offense) and they didnt tell me before i even kissed them. so basicly what im asking is dont you feel its wrong to almost force homosexuality upon people without them noing(may have been a better way to word that but hopefully you no what im talking about)..wetherthe trans/girllooks like a girl or not to me, isstilla man(btw i no your not doing this im jsut asking in general).

xXMarineCorpsXx

See, the reason why I (and I believe FUBAR as well) am trying to spread our experiences and knowledge on the topic is because of perspectives such as yours. I've never considered myself to be male, I've always thought of myself as a female, and I'm currently undergoing a transition to make sure what I look like reflects my gender. The sooner people realize that what's between their legs is just biological development that CAN be developed incorrectly, the sooner people might come around to accepting us. People in general are getting better about intersexed people, so I can hope people will eventually get better about those like me. I can't force you to think of me as a woman, nor can I force anyone. Nor is force a good idea, anyways. I can assure you that it isn't forcing homosexuality on anyone, as that's totally different. When I'm done transitioning, I'll look 100% like a female, and I'll have had surgery to fix my nether regions. There will be no male appearance or male sexual organs, or any male gender within me. Strictly female, so it would be as f you're attracted to a regular girl born with a regular girl's body. I stated in another post, the dating issue is really thorny. The earlier we give up that information, the more we alienate ourselves and the easier it is for people to be violent to us. The longer we let it go, the better the chances of that person accepting us, but also the better chances of us being brutally assaulted and possibly murdered. It's literally a no-win situation for us. Playing the odds on either end of the spectrum, we're often either left alone, or beaten up. I think it's honestly all in HOW one comes out. If you say "I used to be a man" to make it simple, you're not doing to come out favorably. Also, it would not be truthful. We were never men, we just had the sexual organs of them. It's better to come out and say you're a transsexual and quickly, and concisely, lay out education of what a transsexual is, and how it affects them. Still, chances are we'll be rejected either way. There's a reason why 50%+ of transsexuals who are transitioning or have completed transition have been victims of physical assault. I won't go into the sexual assault statistics, I'll leave that to your imagination... Either way, we're not trying to deceive or trick anyone. We're not gay people who have taken it up a notch to prey on straight people. We're born with a condition and we just want to fix it, get it over with, and live a normal life.

yea i see what your saying and im sorry to hear about all the assaults and everything in no way do i find that right..personally though, though you may be completly 100% female idk i personally dont think id feel comftorble with it in the slightest bit, then again thats just me and im shure and know ,probaly many otherp eople would be fine with it...but in no way was i trying to imply anything towards alienating transexuals

but you still see my point some transexuals have sex with gusy and dont even tell them there were a man...thats not fair in the slightest bit idc if your a girl now u were still a man...ya no

To the TG folks who are sharing their experience here, you all sound quite mature. Mind telling me how old you are?

How much does the entire procedure cost, with the surgery and hormone pills and psychological evaluation sessions included?

I honestly have no clue, my counseling is covered by insurance. I might know how much the hormones are going to cost me in a week or so.

But this stuff varies depending on your situation. I'll tell you one thing though it always ends up being incredibly exspensive.

How do they make the male/female reproductive organs for the trans-gender surgery? And would they perform the same as the ones that were naturally developed?

If they don't at all please forgive my ignorance.

That must be an incredible load of burden to be carrying at the age of 18, with no end in sight procedure-wise because of money...

What makes you happy at the end of the day? What runs through your mind most of the time? Have you ever thought of giving it all up, I mean with the process of becoming the gender you want to be?
