atheist, agnostic or religious?

What absolutes does Atheism preach?

I'm an atheist. I accept that by it's very definition a religion cannot be proven nor disproven, I don't base my decision on scientific evidence. I simply don't BELIEVE that there is a god.

I'm honestly not sure. I really don't like the idea of plotting my beliefs into a spiritual "template" like religion or simply saying I'm agnostic.

I don't like the idea of an all powerful being, though I'm not against the beleif of it, so I'm not an Atheist.

If anything else, my belief system is really just a collage of philosophies that I could understand and relate with.

I guess I'd say I'm agnostic.

I am an agnostic in the sense that I acknowledge the fact that I don't whether there is a 'god' or not (however unlikely), but I also realize that nobody else knows either, so that makes all religions moot. So technically I am an agnostic atheist? Dunno, I don't really care about labels I guess.Forerunner-117

Agnostic shouldn't be an option on this poll. It seems that most do not fully understand these terms.

Atheist - doesnt belive in a god

Theist/religous - believes in a god

agnostic understands that he/she can not know wether a god exists are not.

There is a difference between beliveing and knowing something. If someone asks you the question are you atheist and you answer agnostic you havnt answered the question. Its much like if someone asks you are you an american and you answer im a male. Ya you are a male but a male can be american or not.

Much like how agnostics can be religous or not.

Hahaha, thanks. :P I actually just looked up 'agnostic atheism' on wikipedia, and it seems to sum up my thoughts perfectly. :)

a = without, theism = belief in a god. Atheism = without belief in a god.

Gnosis = knowledge. Agnosticism = without knowledge. Sorry, but there it is.

If you don't positively believe in a deity you are an atheist. If you are utterly confused you're an agnostic. That's my interpretation anyway.
