EDIT: and even when he did show his might, people called the prophet a magician.

Hewkii

are you talking about Moses or Jesus?

No I was talking about Mohammad and the story above, however, overall alot of prophets were met with similar reactions from non-believers.

HAZE-Unit

and it seems you would agree with the nonbelievers, given the volume of prophets.

Why are agnostics agnostic?Silverbond

That's easy. They don't claim that there is evidence for or against a god, so they just decide that they don't know.

The only reason we associate the mind with these things is because we recognize ourselves thinking, and when thinking about certain things....things happen within our bodies. But technically, which is what i was saying, there is no SOLELY physical evidence alluding to the existence of a mind. You cannot refer to methods of people thinking about the mind existing or relating it to thinking and consciousness because these are things of the mind - prove it with nothing but physical evidence. You can't physically say where those enzymes are comming from - physically they are just there. They are just there, through recognizing your thought process you recognize the relationship between your body and your mind. Of course there is a relation between the two - but I was asked a near impossible question which I thought that I answered the best possible way with my definition of God and the metaphor of the castle. The soul is related to these enzymes and biollogical mechanisms as well...

Now that humans recognize the relationship between the mind and body, they should at least recognize metaphysical aspects of their being. It is almost like we have de-volvedand deconstructed ourselves...some of our ancestors were far more in touch with themselves than we are. The Mayans to name one, Edgar Cayce to name a person...

I would like tosay for the 20th time, that I am not arguing for religion. Blind faith and what it has done to people(both those who believe and who don't) is part of the cancer killing the human race. My argument is one to merely accept yourself as a whole being, so much sickness comes from being divided. I feel therefore I am. I refuse to believe that I am a gifted person with a limited ability to understand my soul, others, and their relationship to everything. I think it is something every human can do once he or she opens up to the universe. I would like you to try to go a day without thinking and without relying heavily on your senses. Especially thinking about all the needless entertainments that proliferate and destroy the human mind in modern society. Just feel.

Don't argue over evolution, thats dumb.....of course evolution is valid...Darwin was way ahead of his time.OptimusLupus

I agree with you on that - anyone who thinks evolution is false needs to check if their frontal lobe is still there :P

But- I think Darwin didn't get it quite right. Sure Evolution happens slowly over many generations - but what Darwin didn't realise, in my humble opinion, is that Evolution could also happen in Sudden Giant Leaps as well. Brought about by a massive climatic change for instance. Everyone is so concerened about the extinction of species... pfft! It Is Natural! Survival of the fittest - niches will be filled quicker than we think. Just my 2 cents :)

A lack of belief in God. What else would it be?

Atheism is not supposed to be divinely inspired so I don't know how that has any relevance here..

I guess he's just trying to imply that atheism is just as fallible as any sort of theism.

Atheist. There really is no proof to me that is convincing. The Bible? Just a book that has been more than likley distorted over time. I do believe there was a "Jesus Christ" but he was probably just another dude way back in the day.

Any opinion is fallible, technically. To point out a given is to waste everyone's time. Technically, someone who doesn't believe in Santa Claus COULD be just as fallible as someone who (sadly) still believes in St. Nick. However, no rational person would ever put those two people on the same footing.
