I cannot stand A7X. They think they are really metal when they really aren't. I hear people say that they are Metalcore but my friends and I agree they don't even deserve that. Their old stuff could pass for it but not their new stuff. Especially with a song like Sieze The Day. One of my friends worded this the best. He said "I like Avenged Sevenfold. They are good band. You just have to get past the fact that no matter how much they want to be, they aren't metal. They're really hard rock." On top of that, they are a bunch of pretty boys and I HATE pretty boys.Thyeora

I listened to them back when I gave metalcore a go. After about a month, I got rid of all the metalcore along with them. Just not my stuff. And yes, the stage names are lame. Really? So they suck at guitar? Listened to a show by them recently? I'm not saying they're the best. They are CLEARLY far from being the best musicians, individually that is. As a band, they really come together. All of their styles fit great together. They're one of my favorite bands. I think you really should get your facts straight. And just because you don't like a genre, doesn't mean a band sucks...

Their genre has changed so drastically over their 4 albums that they can't be defined as a single genre. And who gives a crap what genre they are? If you like the music, then listen to it...

Those awards are just popularity contests. I remember throwing a copy of Kerrang! out the window of a bus, because the Kerrang! awards were just essentially Green Day (best band, best live act, best album, best single, best dressed etc.).

I'm not a fan of them. Synyster Gates is an average guitarist and he is given too much credit. There are plenty of past and present guitarists who are lightyears ahead of him in terms of skill.ragek1ll589

I think everyone can acknowledge that... But the point is, they sound good together as a band... That's the point of it... They make music, not show off their skills.
