Idiots. There is not much I can say other than that. Why is the mentality towards mexicans, homosexuals, americans, blacks, asians etc so messed up? Well, it is that way due to people making comments like these on TV and other forms of media. There is a thin line between being funny and completely offensive. How often do you see comedians performing monologues about blacks, mexicans, americans, gays, and asians? It might feel good to laugh at minorities for a while yet people like this probably don't know what it feels like to be oppressed and discriminated upon. For every person that makes comments like this to provoke laughter there are probably thousands living in fear due to humiliation and violent crimes against them. It is sad that these people are getting paid to discriminate others. I really don't know how to feel towards this.

So where would you draw the line on what comedians are and aren't allowed to say?

Well, usually the British have a peculiar sense of humor that is often misunderstood as offensive, but in this case, some of the things that were said are plainly offensive, and I should expect that those British hosts are not planning to visit México anytime soon.

EDIT: Did I just hear some British people making fun of Mexican cuisine? OMG, I did! No way! The British are the last people on this planet who should criticize any culture's food. British cooking is the worst cooking in Europe. Any cuisine that relies on as much boiled meat as the British cuisine does cannot be a good thing.

Top Gear do comments like this about EVERYONE. They love to take the mick out of nationalities. While I agree the fried sick part was probably a step too far they do this often. I don't think they should really get in trouble for it beyond a warning to try and not be so offensive when they do mock stereotypes. They do it to America enough don't they? And they don't exactly like France all that much.

I understand people getting offended somewhat but it's always in their show and can be done in a funny, light hearted way. They don't act like themselves on that show anymore either, they're more like parodies of themselves which is why they get away with jokes of this nature.

This made me laugh.

It's provoking this kind of reaction that ensures they get away with this kind of thing. They're acting the part of snobby Brits, they're playing the part of stereotypes mocking other stereotypes.

Thank god this is the BBC. It would never have made it in the US. Stupid FCC.

Who cares.

We live in a world where you can't say anything offensive about anybody. It's sad.

You could say something offensive about me. As long as it is true and not a lie, there is nothing I can do to stop you. Or at least in a country with real freedom of speech you would beable to.

Basically they just like to roast the world and although they dont rib on the UK too much its all to get a laugh and im sure in the other 100 countries that its broadcast it worked. Besides the mexicans have bigger problems than some tv hosts making a 1 minute joke at thier country.

I didn't take anything that they said seriously. That is the British sense of humor. I highly doubt they hate Mexicans. Anyway, I laughed pretty hard. I love Top Gear.

I thought they were FAR more racist about the Australians in that episode. Like the bit where they picked them up from the airport in prison transportation.

Personally, I think everyone should just laugh. It's a joke, made to be funny. Who cares who its targeted at, we're all people. Like seriously ? Do we all have to be such children and cry because someone said something about us ? No I think we need to ascend into the light, by that I mean get EVERY last person on the same level. That level consisting of freedom of speech, a world where i can walk up to any minority, and say any derogatory words to them, and at the end of the day have a few laughs with em, and share a smoke or something. Can we all just get past this whole stupid " OH YOUR A RACIST !" STOP pointing fingers and START ENJOYING LIFE. It's bad enough we have to deal with a government control over the people. Why can't we live a life where we don't have to deal with all that crap ?

OH COME ON....... Lighten up guys....

This really is rediculous to be all offended and go make a thread about it. That's that uptight mindset that's just irritating.

I called my brother and his mexican freind in here and showed him that and we all just laughed. It's top gear... comeon. It's funny.

If you truely are offened I'm sorry, but you need to get over it. We are talking about top gear for crying out loud.

I think it's hilarious. The rest of the world gets laughed at daily, either on television or in other media, and no one gets upset. Japanese are laughed at for their bad English, and they don't care. Take it with a grain of salt, or get off the internet. There are far worse things than three middle aged Brits making jokes at stereotypes.

Top Gear makes fun of everybody, even the british.

It's just in good nature. Infact their worst insults are thrown at eachother.

I honestly think people should lighten up a little and stop looking for anything they consider racist, Yes it still exists but no way near what it used to in the past. Stereotypes are just silly stereotypes.

Long time Top Gear fan, and Mexican-American here; I know they were just joking but that was borderline offensive. I mean you can't just say whatever you want and then be like, "Just kidding! :D" and everything will be okay. Joking or not, people need to be careful about what they say. Those jokes are based on racial stereotypes and slurs about Mexicans, which to me is almost like calling black people the "N" word. With that being said, I won't lose any sleep over this and I'm still a big fan of the show.

I think the only idiots are the ones that let their stupid little insecurities about their/other races get in the way of a good, funny TV show. If you're easily offended, then your loss, don't watch top gear, simple as that. Otherwise enjoy a good show that isn't afraid to poke fun at other cultures (including their own). Shows like this are a rare thing these days thanks to people like TC.

Jeremy Clarkson is just being Jeremey Clarkson. He rags on EVERYTHING. The dude rips on anything American --- especially our cars. But I still am a big fan of the show. He did pick the zr1 corvette as his car of the year once, which was a shock. The reason Top Gear gets away with all their scathing and insensitive comments is because the show is not backed by sponsors, like in the U.S. That's what makes it special.

Top Gear isn't racist, they hate everyone equally.
