Actually mexican food is crap, it's cook it at home easy stuff and I always leave a Mexican restaurant feeling unfulfilled. British food can go pretty deep, it's not all boiled there is a lot about bringing the most flavor out of meat, perhaps even more so then the French who just like it raw and bloody.
I thought that Top Gear were being a little too much on the Mexican especially on the (imagine waking up and remembering your Mexican) that's pretty bad, that's like saying how the race is inferier I wouldn't of gone there myself. A bit of take the mik humor is good but that just went a bit too far they going to see repercussions on that.
P.S Mexican food still sucks but I guess Americans love it because it's random bosh with sause thrown on top made to resemble your lower intestines.

To reiterate: There are a great many Mexican restaurants in many cities all over the world, and millions of people enjoy Mexican cuisine every day across this globe.
British cuisine? Um...not so much.
My town has dozens of Mexican restaurants, but not a single "British" restaurant.
The market determines quality, and obviously the huge market for Mexican food is indicative of just how much it is appreciated by people all over the world. "British" food is a polar opposite. There is no market for it outside of Britain. That's because hardly anyone likes it.
I mean, seriously, you don't think that people are lining up in Dallas for boiled sheep intestines, do you?
Nope, but people do enjoy a good Sunday roast though.
And a proper Cornish pasty. Yum :P
EDIT: And the good ol' British Fish n' Chips as well of course...
