[QUOTE="LP4EVA2005"][QUOTE="mexicangordo"] What a negative way of looking at it.
MrGeezer
hes got a point...what message does that send to other people that have watched that video? if all else fails just give up and kill yourself?Seriously.
The dude's giving a heartfelt message about how it gets better. Then he offfs himself after high school. There are really only two ways to look at it...
1) He never believed that "it gets better" in the first place, and was just feeding viewers a load of ****.
2) He really DID believe that "it gets better", but wasn't willing to wait more than a few months for that to happen.
If it's the first situation, then that's just SICK. Why would a person do that?
And if it's the second situation, then that sort of kills his entire point. It's "it gets better", not "it gets better eventually, but there's no point waiting around that long if it's going to take more than a few months."
*shrugs*
Anyway, he was a 14 year old kid who committed suicide. Not every death has to have some deep and profound meaning, especially when we're talking about adolescent boys. Gay/straight/bi/whatever, it doesn't take a hell of a lot to get people around that age to go into "self-destruct" mode. MAYBE this carries some deep lesson about bullying and tolerance. Or MAYBE the whole "alternative lifestyles acceptance" issue is merely tangential to this being just another teenaged boy who killed himself.
good point, people who can't stand it (whatever it is ) kill themselves all the time, just because the person happens to be gay/bi, suddenly makes the case so sentitive.
Anti-bullying is quite important, but bullying with never truly disappear, helping people who are too psychologically challenged to not doubt themselves becomes more important.
