Only americans call it soccer. To the UK and Irish it's Football. And the UK have the best leagues and teams in the world for the sport

It's the fault of the British that it is called soccer, don't pass this off on us Americans.

The British have the best venues and the best following for the sport in the world. The british leagues are the best in the world for it and it might as well be a British sport. They call it football and it is the most natural way of calling it. The only people I know who call it soccer are Americans, but they have to call it soccer because football refers to American Football to them. Which makes no sense because they don't use a football and they can use their hands negating the fact of calling it "FOOT ball"

well we do use a football...and we kick it but it's a pointless argument to get into

Never heard of Zidane? Jesus, kids this days can't even remember football classics from the last decade.

It's not football, it's soccer goddamnit!

That said, nobody cares.

The UK does not have the best leagues and teams in the world. England has some top clubs and a top league, but the UK in general isn't that great. Wales doesn't have a top flight league, Scotland has a very small and very predictable league of average quality and Ireland worse than Scotland.
