Yes, but you admit that there are a lot of people eating at Chick-fil-A because they support the CEO, no?

Oh definitely, but not all of them are Christians as your original post pointed to.

I never said they were all Christians, I said they were all dumbasses.

The wait for Chic-fil-a today was 4 hours. There are cops directing traffic there are so many people. He may have only been giving his views on gay marriage but the outcry against him is what drove all these people to eat at chic-fil-a it's pretty incredible. ferrari2001

Actually, it did allude to you saying it was only Christians. You said "we can refrain from eating their food". We, meaning non-christians. Sorry, I read into things :P

Do Chick-fil-A even do nice food?

Their chicken is pretty good. And their waffle fries and cheesecake slices are lovely. That's about it.

Hm, I wish we had it here:(

Not sure what waffle fries are but they sound nice :3

I don't understand this whole situation with the store. Obviously the CEO made a mistake by saying he didn't support gay marriage. But I have worked at chick fil a for two years. There were 3 coworkers of mine that were gay Chick Fil A doesn't have a problem hiring gay people. I worked with them at the store itself! Yes, a fast food resturant shouldn't have a stance on gay marraige at all. It's bad for business. But honestly, the stores are very clean, and the food is good. That should be all that matters. Especially since there are homosexuals who work for the company.

No, they're bigots for thinking they have the right to force their views on the rest of society. Make gay marriage legal, then they can talk all day about upholding a traditional definition of marriage and I won't call them bigots.

Everyone would like to force his own views on the rest of society. Until three or so years ago when gay rights movements exploded you wouldn't have flinched if someone spun what you just said the other way around. Stop acting like being right and being wrong are absolutes.

And a link regarding shady business practices? Really? How come you're only calling out these guys, while in fact almost every company you could think of went through similar bs?

Of the 6 or 7 times I've gone to Chick-fil-A, I've only ever had one decent chicken sandwich. Now, when I say decent, I really mean it was somewhere between McDonalds' and Wendy's chicken sandwiches. The rest of the time Chick-fil-A served mean overcooked, greasy mess that had absolutely no redeeming qualities. Thus, I encourage everyone to boycott this terrible business for serving terrible food.

I really don't have the energy to care about the politics of Chick-fil-A's owner. He can spend his money however he wants; no one is forcing a person to eat there. Now, to actively interfere with someone's business with something like a "kiss-in", that's a completely different matter, which I strongly discourage. The GLBT community should find a better way to protest and share their message.

The best fast food out there is Taco Cabana. Of course they don't exist outside of Texas, so most never get to enjoy it.

It's always bizarre to me when people say they "support" traditional marriage. As if gay marriage will somehow stop straight folk from getting married.

People have the right to boycott companies for their own beliefs as well. It's stupid, though, because boycotts rarely work, and from what I just heard, business for Chick-Fil-A is actually going up because more Christians are gathering more than making up for the lack of business gay marriage supporters are not providing now. Of course, a lot of these boycotters probably never even frequent the stores to begin, or never go there because they feel the quality of food isn't worth the price. Now word gets out the CEO is against gay marriage, it becomes, "I don't eat at Chick-Fil-A because they're anti-gay!" *shrugs* What I don't like about some of these boycotters is how they lose their ability to think. They get all wrapped up with their emotionally driven politics and they start assuming that everyone who continues to frequent Chick-Fil-A are bigots. I'm sure there are homosexuals that still eat there because they find their food really good. I'm more worried about not eating at a Chick-Fil-A, not because of their CEO's stance, but because I don't want to be judged by other people who see me walking into the store. "Hey, you! BIGOT! Enjoy your HATE NUGGETS!" I'm sure that doesn't happen often, but I bet you it's happened it at least once. Just don't go there if you hate them and leave it at that.

I think there were about 4 mayors. I think Menino has since admitted that he was wrong to do so. If I were Chick Fil A I would try to open a restaurant in one of those cities, request a permit and if the permit is denied I would sue the city in court and then open up the business.

Same logic I could've used when you called what I said a tu quoque.

You're not going to ever get something meaningful through in a debate if you think you can simply enter it and back out because "you don't care".

[QUOTE="lo_Pine"] In-N-Out techinically doesn't have to worry about stuff that Chik-A Fil might. I have never even heard of that restauraunt, must be an East coast thing, but if they are a public company, this outrage makes sense. Can't piss off your shareholders. In-N-Out is a private company.

lo_Pine

IN-N-out is in the West coast, mostly in California. Chil-A Fil is a private company too...

Oh, if Chik-A Fil is a private company too, then this is just something for the "liberal media" to talk about. Even though, I'm sure Fox is all over this too. I don't know, I just watch CNN and CBS

wait i didn't know that the US government owns Chik-A Fil wow that's news to me!

LMAO! LOL! ROFL!

So Wendy's is good? frankly I'm tired of talking about gay rights so lets change the topic of this thread to the best fast food.

I have no idea why someone would have a problem with Wendy's. Even their fries are fabulous now. And don't get me started on their frosties and chicken nuggets. McDonald's isn't too bad, either. I've always liked their frappes, for one.

I myself prefer KFC. Pricey as hell but it has the best chicken anywhere (sorry chick fil A). McDonalds is ok, i really only go there if I have change for the dollar menu. the worst place is Taco Bell by far; yesturday I spent $4 for a burrito that I could have easily eaten five of, it if was actually appetizing.

If you want to support anti-g@y bigots, then enjoy selling out to an overpriced, nastly chicken burger.

Also, who gives a crap about chicken sandwiches? Chicken sandwiches are what you eat when you end up at a burger place and you're not in the mood for burgers. Chicken is the blandest meat known to man. Meh.

And could Chick Fil A use some real buns on the sandwiches? For a place that prides itself on its chicken sandwiches, it's kind of odd that they uses those smooshed, cheap, nasty processed fast food buns that are basically the same thing you get at mcdonalds.

I guess it figures that a company that's anti-gay doesn't know anything about putting meat between buns.

I guess some people choose to just read part of an internet conversation and choose not to read the whole thing before they making stupid, instigating comments.

The CEO is free to make an opinion, which I am fine with that. However, if he runs the business so they exclude homosexuals that would be something else.
