I guess some people choose to just read part of an internet conversation and choose not to read the whole thing before they making stupid, instigating comments.

lol dude what you said was funny i swear lol

"In-N-Out techinically doesn't have to worry about stuff that Chik-A Fil might. I have never even heard of that restauraunt, must be an East coast thing, but if they are a public company, this outrage makes sense. Can't piss off your shareholders. In-N-Out is a private company."

I guess so, but I don't care. And I don't see why I should; just because it seems cheap, doesn't mean it's false.

N30F3N1X

Same logic I could've used when you called what I said a tu quoque.

You're not going to ever get something meaningful through in a debate if you think you can simply enter it and back out because "you don't care".

I didn't back out for that reason. I was just responding to your claim.

Oh, I guess I wrote that bad. I mean't that if Chik-A Fil is not a private company, and are public, then this outrage would make more sense because they have shareholders that have a vested interest in what the company's relation is to the public.

I didn't back out for that reason. (And in fact, I never do). To spare you the confusion, I should have just said, "Oh well, there's not much I can do to make it seem less cheap" in response to your claim. That's much clearer.ghoklebutter

Fair enough.

Funny how you can't just not go to Chick Fil A if you don't like what it stands for to some people, no you gotta shut it down! I wish there was a chick Fil A in NZ i would eat there solely to support them against their attackers.

I guess it figures that a company that's anti-gay doesn't know anything about putting meat between buns.

Do you think that any company with shareholders is not a private company?

Well, if they had an IPO they are considered public. If not, then they are private. At least, thats how I think it works.

[QUOTE="ghoklebutter"][QUOTE="Tokugawa77"]

So Wendy's is good? frankly I'm tired of talking about gay rights so lets change the topic of this thread to the best fast food.

Tokugawa77

I have no idea why someone would have a problem with Wendy's. Even their fries are fabulous now. And don't get me started on their frosties and chicken nuggets. McDonald's isn't too bad, either. I've always liked their frappes, for one.

I myself prefer KFC. Pricey as hell but it has the best chicken anywhere (sorry chick fil A). McDonalds is ok, i really only go there if I have change for the dollar menu. the worst place is Taco Bell by far; yesturday I spent $4 for a burrito that I could have easily eaten five of, it if was actually appetizing.

KFC is all right, but Popeyes is far superior in almost every way. I can't recall a single thing I dislike about Popeyes. As for Taco Bell, I'm indifferent about them. I like their chicken quesadillas, though.

All companies engage in discrimination, FYI.

Do all of them engage in unlawful discrimination like CFA? (I should have clarified on the nature of that discrimination).

No. What kind of unlawful discrimination has "CFA" taken part in?

The wait for Chic-fil-a today was 4 hours. There are cops directing traffic there are so many people. He may have only been giving his views on gay marriage but the outcry against him is what drove all these people to eat at chic-fil-a it's pretty incredible. ferrari2001

At first I thought this was the old Chick-fil-a thread, then I realized it is a completely new triple digit post monster. I think it is odd that we talk about Chick-fil-a being bullied because of their views, as if their views are completely rational. Supporters are basically saying that we are being intolerant of Chick-fil-a's intolerance.

Chick Fil-A is KFC chicken at double the price.

Seriously folks. It's just another fast-food joint. Only difference is the crazy prices, they're closed on Sundays and their owners hate gay people.

Netherscourge
Um no. CFA's chicken isn't from one of those mass chicken factories that grow them without thier heads... or whatever it is they do. It is fast-food, but it's head and shoulders above any other fast-food joint in existence. The service is always amazing. Prices are on par with everywhere else. You pay $6 for a combo at CFA. You pay $6 for a similar deal at McD's or BK. The owner does not hate gay people! He never said anything about gay people. You all should really learn to read. He only said that the company was founded on said biblical principles and values... and, that these values are still supported today. He also affirmed that he believes in the biblical marriage. He never once uttered anything about gay people or gay marriage.

I went to the appreciation day yesterday as a proponent of free speech, and to support the right of privately held businesses. Boycotts are stupid, and accomplish little to nothing. They are only helping to increase their business. People are just fed up, and have had enough. The Liberal and gay rights activists slant on the topic is that there is no compromise in regard to gay rights. You are either 100% behind us and accept gay marriage, or you're a bigot and hate monger. Bull. Get over yourselves, and just accept that we dont have to completely agree on everything. I don't eat at Chick-Fil-A often (good but pricey), but I'll be sure to at least once a week from now on.

Pfft, think a little harder here. Your HIRING MANAGER doesn't have a problem with gay people. The CEO doesn't approve or deny every application personally. He doesn't know that your manager hires gay people or doesn't.

So, why are people just now wanting to boycott them? Did CFA just start donating to these organizations? Yesterday? There's no proof that these groups are "anti-gay" either.

Companies using cheap labour is bad, but what has funding a group that's sole purpose is to promote bigotry and get rid of equality got to do with selling chicken? This isn't them cutting corners, this is going out of their way to do something evil.

What chinese companies are actively trying to deny equal rights to US citizens?

I understand that attempting to derail or sidetrack threads is a very common thing done by some users but its dishonest.

And I dont see the problem with not boycotting every company out there that is doing something shady.

Of course I'm gonna boycott what is convenient for me to boycott. If for instance my area has only one supermarket franchise and their company is anti-gay... I cant really do much. It seems like a recurring theme for people who are either anti-gay or just want to sound smart, to set high standards for such causes and then supposedly point out double standards.

CFA was targeted because they have been getting a lot of attentionn for some time now and the statement of the owner was just a good excuse to turn against them. So?

No evidence of it being denial of equal rights either. Though the whole boycott blew up in their faces.....Chick Fil As were apparently very very busy yesterday.

Chick Fil-A is KFC chicken at double the price.

Seriously folks. It's just another fast-food joint. Only difference is the crazy prices, they're closed on Sundays and their owners hate gay people.

Keep it up.

The angels up above are dusting a special throne for you in heaven as we speak. Not as glorious as God's, I hope you dont mind.

But holy hell what a martyr!

Can I call you my GS stalker? It seems everywhere I post... you're there.

No evidence of it being denial of equal rights either. Though the whole boycott blew up in their faces.....Chick Fil As were apparently very very busy yesterday.

Any group that is against gay marrage is against equal rights, especially when the reasoning comes from a 2000 year old book.

They were very busy, I bet that the pastors must have talked their asses off encouraging their flocks to get some chicken in :)

Not exactly. Places that disallow 2 gay men to marry also disallow 2 straight men to marry. Again, making the "equal rights" argument isn't the best course of action when it comes to this situation.

That would depend on the definition of marriage one believes is right (two people of the opposite sex, two people that love each other, two people that just want tax benefits, a combination of all/some of the previous etc)

It's fine they're protesting and all, but making out in front of stores is not the way to do it.

Using that logic not allowing interracial marriage isn't racist and is equal.

If you deny a segment of society the rights enjoyed by another segment of society, then by very definition you are denying the first group equal rights.

Being against gay marriage is not exactly being against equal rights since as currently written the same laws apply to all people. So that analogy is bad. And you have not produced any evidence that the hyperbole you're extolling in this thread actually exists. I'm kind of waiting for that....

Actually he's got you on a technicality with that. There is no law stating gay people cannot marry. They just cannot marry the same sex....but neither can heterosexuals, bisexuals, or asexuals.
