I'm sure a lot of us here have had a moment or two in life in which we said that a highly acclaimed film that is considered the second coming of Jesus by mass crowds as just "not that good", and our comments were followed by something like this:

Well, this thread I'd like to invite all of you to get *****slapped across the face by fellow OT members by listing highly rated films that you simply did not like, or did not like anywhere near as much as the regular crowds did.

Sounds fun? Painful? Both? Sure!

Here's some films of mine that are, while popular, highly acclaimed, I simply did not like:

I Am Legend

Kung Fu Panda

Trainspotting

In the Loop

Zodiac

Dazed and Confused

Dogtooth

Repulsion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nerd_Man's personal note about his own thread:"I singlehandedly aim to make this the most disappointing, most appalling and most hated thread on the internet - or, at least - the most appalling thread on Gamespot OT for the date of August 4, 2010. So jump on in and join in on the fun, and start hatin'!"

Disclaimer: Please, this thread is just for fun. I don't want to see people taking these posts personally if they don't agree with someone else and resorting to insults and/or flames. Comical posts to express your disagreements should be fine, but don't personalize it. Just be cool and have fun.

Let the *****slappings begin!

2001 is the most boring movie I have ever seen. I understand that it was very cool when it came out, because it had realistic looking space ships, but I see realistic space ships all the time. You could cut 2001 down to television-episode length if you cut out all the filler.

I'll go ahead and say Forrest Gump.

I just don't care for the protagonist, or any of the characters for that matter, and the movie itself bores me to tears.

Inglorious Basterds.. I love Tarentino films, its just this one felt extremely dry and boring.. None of the characters were really enjoyable to watch.... And the bar scene within the movie was one of the most pointless scenes in a movie I have seen in a long time... LOTR Return of the King: I did not like that.. Outside the fact of the corny lines "I AM NO man!, HIYAAAAAA!" the movie was a ridiculous cgi mess of battles of horses some how being able to go through lines of infantry hundreds thick.. Oh boy whats happening? I am seeing the battle of Helms Deep magnified a 10 to 20 times over? Peter's response probably will be : Well you already saw ten thousand fight, you migth as well see a hundred thousand fight this time! Oh my personal favorite scene is the undead army that seems to go through anything like a hot knife through butter.. So instead of keeping them in service for a few more hours in taking down the entire bad guys in the forsaken land, he lets them go.. Aragorn was sure a man of strategic genius..

I really like Gladiator and The Matrix, but I totally agree with the above one. It went on and on and on. Needed some serious editing. My dad loved it, though, which is weird since we usually like the same movies.

nooblet69

How so? Because in the movie the entire time union soldiers are basically crapping on the black regiment from not giving them new shoes.. To forcing them into manual labor refusing them combat.. To the one Union colonel that treated his black regiment militia like animals in claiming they need to be unleashed and that they are children and what not..

The one that comes to mind is The Dark Knight. Ledger's performance was good, but that was it. It was so overwrought, there was no subtlety whatsoever. All the subtext was discussed at length throughout the film. That's just shoddy writing. And, really, Christian Bale sucks as Batman. He's wooden as Bruce Wayne and way too over the top as the Bat himself.

I honestly could never consider A Clockwork Orange a good movie or a bad movie.. Its just there.. Specifically due to the fact the movie is just so dysfunctional and disturbing that I can't get enjoyment from it what so ever.
