The Dark Knight. Christian Bale's annoying batman voice bugged me the entire film. That and it was an hour too long.

Hmm, yeah, Bale's voice is a bit too gruff as Batsy, it gets old really fast. What bugged me about Dark Knight wasn't so much Bale's voice, but actually more his acting. I think he's been falling back on his newer films...

HIs acting was atrocious in Dark Knight. A shame because he's not a bad actor - at least not in his prior films.

I'll go ahead and say Forrest Gump.

I just don't care for the protagonist, or any of the characters for that matter, and the movie itself bores me to tears.

How... dare you.

Exactly my point. It is as if Hollywood actors are slacking.

Robbie is awesome and Armond White is hilarious. Only thing they have in common is that they have a freaky love for Spielberg's AI. :P

District 9: Was bored until the last 30 minutes or so. Day After Tomorrow: Too much pushing of the Global Warming agenda, IMO. Inglorious Basterds: Wasn't as great as the critics said. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Because Willy Wonka was so much better.

I actually think it is quite underrated. Not a great film by a longshot, but still surprisingly good. John Lithgow, Roy Scheider, and Hellen Mirren are all very good, and the story is quite engrossing. Some parts are dated, but it Peter Hyam's best film by far. I actually recommend it.

Oh yes, of course it's just people trying to look cool They couldn't possibly dislike the movie!

lol of course some people will dislike the movie but just going by this forum you would think the film was a total failure and that nobody liked it.....which is obviously not the case. just something i've noticed during my short time posting here.

...and i know the whole pocahontas comparison. what else is new? you can say the same thing about half the movies that come out nowadays, over the last 10+ years hollywood has not been known for its originality.

Absolutely HATE?!

Well, to be fair, the first half of the film is pretty decent, but after that it becomes one of the most ridiculous, convoluted, and cheesy mysteries I have ever seen.

That movie surprised me for sure. It was well acted and had a great plot. I went in expecting garbage, so my expectations were exceeded.

I think part of the reason it is overlooked is that the film is not the masterpiece that 2001 was, it simply couldn't fill those shoes. It proceeds more like the books do than the original movie, trying to be explicit and spoil every mystery whereas the 2001 cherished its mystery. In fact, that may be my primarly criticism -- it made easy answers out of things that shouldn't be so easy to answer.

I definitely prefer 2001, but 2010 is certainly enjoyable.

The Godfather Wolls

This, I had alot of issues with the Godfather. Its poorly paced, the movie goes in places where it does not and expands on it too much(i.e Michael Coreleone when he flees to italy was milked out far too long and slowed down the movie unnecessairly). Its well acted no doubt, but its poorly paced and for me that kills it, and the ending it self seems rushed compared to the build up and unneccesary slow down the film suffers from. Thats just my thoughts.

I can give you the ending. While I liked it, I can see how it could seem somewhat anti-climatic. Though the VERY last scene (Michael in his office) I found to make up for the assassination/church sequence. As for him going to Italy, I think it was a much needed detour from the dark urban expanse of New York.

Yeah, I didn't think it was terrible, but I would definitely say it was overrated. I'm not that big of a movie guy though.

I never "got" these movies. They seemed like average fare to me. I must be missing something because I don't see the reason for their high praise.
