Some people here have accused the school of hatred and bigotry, but that is simply not true. An organization can restrict the type of people they allow in depending on the audience they are trying to reach. For example, a Japanese association (or any other ethnic association for that matter) is only going to accept as members, people who have a connection to the Japanese heritage. They are not going to be inclusive and accept every "Tom, Dick and Harry" who signs up. Does that mean that they hate non-Japanese people? Of course not. The same thing goes for a private Christian school. They are primarily there for the Christians of their particular denomination and want to promote a Christian lifestyle to all students. It is not for everybody of every lifestyle and every religion. That doesn't mean that they hate such people. It's degisned for a Christian audience and promote the Christian lifestyle.

Yes i realise that, ive never read the bible, but i cannot beleive it actively promotes discrimination about lesbians....Maybe the girls were christians, WHAT IS THAT SCHOOL'S RIGHT TO DENY CHRISTIANS ENTRY just because of their sexual orientation. If the girls said they definitively weren't christians, i'd understand, but since they din't....
They're not promoting the school's idea of what they BELIEVE is Christianity. There are many types of Christian denominations, they just happen to attend the school that did not support their behaviour.

I agree with the court's decision. A religious school cannot meet their objectives if they are required to accept anyone who do not conform to their teachings.Jemdude

And its nothing new, slander and libel has never been allowed in the United States. Just as you can't yell fire in a crowded theatre when there is no danger, I don't believe that slanderous speech intended to persuade the ignorant should be allowed. Am I a PC nut? If they are completely self-funded than while i do not like it they should be allowed. However if they recieve any kind of state or federal funding or aid than in that case I think they should not be allowed to just call the shots like that.mattykovax

I don't really agree with the school, but it's a private school and they can make their own rules. The kids can just go to a public school or a different private school.JML897
That sums up my opinion, but I wonder if the plaintiffs raised any U.S. Constitutional challenges . . . the article only mentions a state statute.
