I call it "Get Free Stuff and Buy Stuff for Others Day."THE_DRUGGIEThis. I believe a guy name Jesus existed. But I don't consider him my savior since I don't remember him saving me....

You too.
Because I like beer, presents, and spending time with the family. All three together in one day makes for a fun occasion.
Dark_Knight6
exactly, though to be honest beer and famliy is sometimes a volatle mix:P
Christmas to me isn't the celebration of Christ. It's a tradition, deeply rooted in our culture. It's fun for the kids. Christmas doesn't even really belong to Christians either.Christmas?? if yes explain why you celebrate even you don't believe in Jesus Christ my Personal Savior.
LightGalaxy_07
I don't believe in him, and I hang a Christmas tree up with my family, because to be honest where I live no one cares about Jesus Christ or Christianity. We just do it to be with our families. optiowme too
I believe in jesus,
I believe he was a Prophet of God, sent down his message, born of a virgin birth, did his miracles, was risen to Heaven and will come before the Last Day.
I just don't believe he is the son of God or God incaranate as a human being.Nor do i think Christmas is actually his birthday.
I will however just go with the flow and enjoy the festivities, I won't go to the church (and if i'm invited by friends, i'll be polite and watch but won't take partake in the prayers). I have exchanged gifts between friends in the past. and in a few cases i've worked the Christmas eve for work-friends who wanted/needed the day off to be with their families (me not being Christian, but a friend of a Christian, i'll take the day for them to be with their families).
That's how i tend to do it.
but this year i'm in the Caribbean with my family, so it should be fun.
P.S.
guilty pleasure, but i really dig a lot of the Christmas music,
A Holly Jolly Christmas
Feliz Navidad
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
It's the most wonderful time of the year
I'll be home for Christmas
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Happy Xmas (war is over)
and a few more actually..
I believe in Jesus yes, and I celebrate Christmas by remembering that His life was the greatest gift the world will ever know.
But I do like the concept of giving, but not necessarily in the recieving aspect. Basically, I like the mindset that is selfless about giving, rather than selfish and only being concerned with recieving.
I think jesus could have existed. I do not think he had super powers if he did.
Also I celebrate christmas for santa clause not some hippy arab.
Congratz to the OP, you got a big thread of cute one liner opinions.
Look, this Jesus Christ stuff; I admire your strong belief in something that probably has gotten you out of horrible things (mentally) but you don't need to be afraid of death. (I'm assuming this is the reason people love their own....specific....religions....as in more than one....as in red flag?)
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, even though that is most likely not the literal day of his birth. It is also a greedy pagan consumerist excuse to buy presents for one another under the guise of some kind of obligatory symbol of 'love' and 'family togetherness'. It is a lot of things to a lot of different people.
To me however, it is a holiday where everyone misses the point, and instead has relegated it to a 'Hobbit-esque' birthday party where the guests get presents on their friends birthday. I don't so much care for presents, I care more that people (if they are Christian like me that is) actually observe what the day is supposed to be all about rather than thinking about eating a turkey or how many possessions they are going to accumulate.
Bah, humbug.

Jesus would be pisst if he were actually a diety.
Yes. I was raised Christian, however I do have my differing views on a literal interpretation of the bible. I do not believe he was the son of God. I believe his much more powerful and inspirational when viewed as just a man. So I will celebrate Christmas obviously, but my interpretation of it is somewhat different.
Because Christmas is no longer a religious holiday, by and large. It is a commercial holiday. Sorry, guys, but thats what happens when you become a majority and mix in rampant capitalism. Someone will capitalize on your sacred religious day and make it for everyone.
For the record I neither accept nor deny Jesus Christ.
