You're right. But that's what happen when you give 13 year olds the power to rule.EMOEVOLUTIONThere's no age restriction for becoming a moderator, but I don't think there are any mods under 16 right now. :|
yes I got suspended and a warning for saying "hahahaha" when someone posting a videokemar7856
I'm pretty sure that's because you're meant to always make a post which contributes to a discussion in some way, as best you can. Just posting "hahaha" is a bit pointless.
[QUOTE="_Olimar"]yesLakin0817Their rules are relative to who is moderating at the time and what side of the bed they woke up that morning. Rules are garbage around here.
I really dont think that's true at all. :? I mean if you feel you've been incorrectly moderated alls you need to do is take it to customer support and if somebody is indeed moderating against the rules and upsetting members of the community they'd have their mod powers taken from them pretty quickly, right? :?

Who is it you think you are appealing to in the "ask a mod" forum.Has nothing to do with "strict" perse vs being part of gamespots little cliche'. More along the lines of, if you disagree with their views or say something a moderator disagree's with, the moderate you. There are some people who have duel accounts. One to troll these forums to post their opinions, and the other to moderate if you disagree. Lakin0817Think about what you're saying for a moment. As tight of a watch as the admins keep on us, don't you think they'd know if we were using alt accounts for duplicitous purposes? Take the foil hat off and think about things. Things are a lot more simple around here than you think they are... we enforce the Terms of Use, keep the boards clean, and moderate discussions. That's all. Agendas get tossed out the window, along with moderators who don't make the cut after the I-mod phase.

Once your smoke clears and your mirrors are dirty Mr.Moderator, it still comes down to being up to the moderator at hand who decides what is "right" and what is "wrong". I've seen it personally several times first hand. I have written several things that didn't harm anyone or offend a soul, but it was disagreeable by a certain group, the moderator at hand agreed with this group and carried out my sentence at his discretion. As far as your checks and balances, do you really think that the admins are going to take the time to police everyone who owns an account on here? I mean seriously, I doubt any of the admins have time, they are too busy trying to make more money off all of us lab rats. The mods interpret their own "rules" and react to them according to what they feel is right, not according to laws and rules.Since you insulted me, I'm only left to assume that nothing that I say will satisfy you other than a blanket apology and an admission of guilt, correct? Yet I'll still say that the admins are more involved than you'd think, and the community managers don't see one red cent from subscription dollars. I'm not trying to convince you of the truth at this point, since you're already convinced that you're right about things.

I'm assuming the mods are the ones who read the abuse reports from people. My problem is it seems as though as long and they report you the moderater doesn't look at the context of the thread or even what has been said by you and to you. They simply give you a 7 day suspension. It upsets me and then people say : take your case to ask the mods" i say "haha like that ever works" What if youv'e been suspended how are you supposed to ask them, and also what if you're banned :BAN DODGERS!!!" so then what the IP adress ban you and if you can create another acount to plead your case your a ban dodger. the system is flawed to the max. kingyotoX2 words for you: Customer Support.
Everyone ignores it. Everyone talks about how they "have" to make another account.

I'm not modded very much (I'm not on much)
but they're definitely too harsh. A lot of times the excuse is to put it in the blog. What the hell? If it makes the place more interesting and doesn't offend/bother you, why delete it?
