I think at least many of Yahoo news viewers are considering the amount of thumbs up given to bigoted comments.

If you stop suicide bombing yourselves, honor killings, promoting Islam through fear and terror, and downgrading women - there won't be bad news about Muslims. bobaban
Because they all do that....

[QUOTE="t0taldj"]If you see my original post I never blamed Americans, I blamed the media for narrowing down the image of Muslims. Because that's the source of info for some ignorant people I met, who pretend they know more about my religion through "media". Nor am I saying that all Muslims are good human beings. By media I also meant any source of News on the internet. Sorry I didn't bring that up earlier. That was the whole point. Regarding the quick quote, a couple of days ago it wasn't working due to some technical problems with GS. Guess I got used to it.LJS9502_basicWell US media really doesn't make Muslims out as negatives. 911 certainly brought Muslims to the forefront of Americans....not in a good way of course...prior to that there was no real talk about them. But in the interim between then and now.....not much talk goes on. Sure you will always have ignorant people with their stereotypes and generalizations but that isn't the entirety of the picture. I know we have Muslims in my community. No one bothers them in the least. I've heard many negative stereotypes towards Muslims on Fox News and Bill Maher's show. The media doesn't completely paint them in a positive light.

Terrorists, man.
I've not noticed them slamming muslims and if they were brainwashing people we'd see alot of hangings, lynchings...etc
[QUOTE="eleven1181"]Ironically the relations in the UK with Muslims is much more negative than in the US. Put your house in order before preaching to anyone else.I'm from the UK and can see why muslims dont like American people, America thinks it rules the world and basicaly just makes up an excuse to go into a country and it for all its resources so cant blam people really for not liking Americans.

They are trying to brainwash the people, it's obvious they are trying to portray almost all middle eastern natives and muslims as outright terrorists, every single one of them. And most Americans are ignorant enough to believe it. It's all propaganda for a quick cash grab from countries the U.S otherwise couldn't interfere with legally.
It's not all that. There is propaganda, true, but all the muslim countries I've been to are free ones. I didn't like it there, just let me give you an example: if you're crossing the street on the zebra, even though you are ok to cross and the car that is coming has plenty of time, they accelerate and they honk at you, flashing the lights too. This happened lots and lots of times.

To a point yes but do you think that religion and its "brain washing" of you must do such and such and if you dont you will go to hell + believe in these ideas and morals and you are one of us because of this, is really any better?
If the US is anti-muslim then what can you say about religon thats any better? Its anti-homosexual, anti-blood transfusion, anti-abortion, anti-equal rights etc the list really goes on.
I know religon does have some nice things about it, be kind to people etc however those sort of morals and codes of life as it were; do not need re-enforcement by the fear factor that you will go to hell if you dont.

How is anti-homosexual and anti abortion bad, I mean how really, what does society gain from killing babies and homosexuality. And how is religion in general anti-equal rights? Maybe radical Islam, but then you would be making the stupid mistake of Radical Religion=all religion.

Christianity justified slavery and racial segregation for hundreds of years within the USA.
It can't be that great a religion if all kinds of atrocities occurred "under the good name of Christianity."

Any country that adopts Hinduism is a severely limited country, as the religion dictates that a poor man could never become anything else except a poor man, and that rich men can only be rich men because they were born that way.
It's completely ludicrous considering that we live in a 21st century society.

What I'm saying is that you can't ignore the flaws of lots of religions just because Islam justifies archaic practices.
If you're going to condemn one religion, you have to condemn all of the infringing ones.

Okay first of all you can't blame the religion if people acted for greed. But if you want to do that.....EVERY GROUP HAS KILLED AND FOUGHT OVER RESOURCES IN HISTORY. Yes even before Christianity existed. But because person A claims to follow religion B does NOT mean they are doing the actions in the name of religion. NONE OF YOUR EXAMPLES WERE DONE BASED ON RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS. So that argument fails.I will admit I don't know much about Hinduism but the problem tends more to be when a government is run by religious ideologies rather than the religion itself. So I'd guess that argument fails as wells. But like I said I haven't really studied too in depth Hinduism.
