What orangetext is essentially trying to do is use hair-splitting rhetoric to justify his denying twohundered years of sound scientific research. Lets quit dancing around the issue here and be blatant. If you think the Theory of Evolution is false you are either ignorant or unstable.

Your perception of science is off. You seem to think that things in science can be proven like they are in math. It doesnt work like that.

harashawn

You may think my perception is off, but you haven't told me how I am wrong.

Yes I answered that already. You just missed it.

A theory is simply something that has not yet been disproved

That is a hypothesis. actually that is less than a hypothesis. because following that definition a theory doesnt even have to fall within the bounds of science. "God did it" is a perfectly legitimate theory by your definition. As I said earlier your perception of science is off.

[QUOTE="Guybrush_3"]he wants absolute proof that evolution is true. foxhound_fox

The evidence in support of evolution is as close to absolute as something can get in science. The fact that evolution is so well observed and documented... to deny it would nearly be like denying 2 + 2 = 4.

"but that is just micro evolution"

People will deny it to hell and back.

A hypothesis is an educated guess.

A theory has been tested repeatedly but has not been disproved.

"God did it" is not a valid theory because it has not been tested repeatedly, it is simply an assumption.

I believe in evolution. Whether there is a God or Not, I dont know because there is no way of proving that, other than God coming down to earth or something of the sort. So maybe god did set the stage for evolution, dont really care. All I know is that there is evidence for evolution thus I trust in evolution.

You don't prove things in science... you come up with hypotheses, test them and look for evidence, then submit them to peer review. If it becomes a theory, it isn't merely 'tested repeatedly,' it is applied to one's knowledge. You don't say "We will find *blank* because the theory says so." We say "We predict we will find *blank* because the theory suggests it." Like they said, proof is applied to mathematics, not science.

Uh... okay. Going back to what I said earlier, no I did not 'reword' your argument... Nothing in science is 'proven.' Theories aren't retested to make sure that they're still useful... they're used as applied knowledge and to predict what will happen.

Yes, yes, you said it's never disproven. But wouldn't that mean it was proven to be true with the arise of new evidence? Again, theories are explanations of accumulated fact... the facts don't change, but the explanation can.

Whether you believe in evolution or not, the human race has evolved in a sense. Not by turning into some superior creature, but by technology. Look around us? We have cars, computers, phones, internet... If we went back in time and showed people the things we have now, it would be like magic to them.

In terms of technology, we have advance more in the past 200 years than we did in all of human history before it. We have reinvented the wheel and then some.

I pick the one that has proper, verifiable evidence to back it up.

I made the universe and everything inside it and every law. I know this, because I say so.

Although society has altered your consciousness, you remain irrevicably human. Ergo, vis a vis, some of you will comprehend the concept of a creator and some of you will not. While concordently your first question may seem the most pertinent, you will also realize it is the most irrelevant.

Evolution does not exist. There are absolutely no evidence to suggest that any animal evolved into another. If there were, we would see transitional forms between the different stages.

If God created man in His image, then how would it even be possible for us to evolve from monkeys?

Lol Wut? Ya there is proof of evolution. Like those islands with all the different birds and lizards or something, don't ask me lol. I don't believe we evolved from monkeys though lol, maybe some other kind of human like those ones they found a skull of (can't remember name), but not monkeys...

Nobody said we evolved from monkeys. We share a common ancestor with the other primates, including monkeys, that's all.

That is Young Earth Creationism, yes.

I know that evolution is real because there is more evidence in favor of such an important theory in the field of biology than I could ever possibly know or list. I don't have to display blind faith, go to a Church of Evolution or pray to Charles Darwin every night, because evolution isn't a religion--it's scientific fact. Once a new theory comes along that provides a different explanation for the variation of life, while also proving that every single shred of evidence ever surfaced in favor of evolution is wrong, then I'll believe in said theory. As for the time being, however, it is illogical to even question evolution's authenticity without having strong scientific research & evidence to back up your claims; as of now, that has yet to happen.

Why I don't believe in creationism? Because it promotes irrational, blind faith while denying any aspect of life that contradicts the foundation it's religion is built upon. The only reason that Young Earth Creationists oppose evolution, for the most part, is because they all share a literal depiction of the story of Adam & Eve within the Bible.

Watch whole video.

Evolution: Plenty of evidence that supports a theory that hasn't been disproven. We're not saying it's fact, just the best way to explain things at the moment.

Religion: Uh, we're right because evolution is uh...not fact. Oh, and you can't disprove religion! Our evidence is...blind faith, BUT I KNOW HE EXISTS BECAUSE THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO!
