nice pick, i forgot that came out this year. definitely check out dial m for monkey if you haven't already, it's his best stuff IMO...or animal magic.
I really liked Big Boi's album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty and Bruce Springsteen's The Promise. There was a ton of good stuff this year - Eminem, The Roots, Kanye, B.o.B, and Kid Cudi. wstfldYeah, Sir Lucious Left Foot was a fantastic album. I also really loved My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasty and that new Cee-Lo Ladykiller.

Sound Awake from Karnivool. It was technically released in 2009 but was not released in the States until the beginning of this year. Best album I've heard in a long, long time.

lol yeah that record is amazing, i still like the mantle better though.
Pale Folklore is my personal favorite, but all of their albums are excellent. I feel dirty saying that I have a favorite. :P[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="RobboElRobbo"]

Pale Folklore is my personal favorite, but all of their albums are excellent. I feel dirty saying that I have a favorite. :PIt's so hard to compare but I think if I had to order them it would be: Marrow of the Spirit > The White > The Mantle > Pale Folklore > Ashes They're all pretty much incomparable though. It depends on my mood and solely my mood (though I am convinced that Marrow is definitely their best work)
Really hard for me. Really really hard. But it took this album awhile to click with me, but when it clicked, it clicked.
Possibly the best death metal album I've heard.

Couldn't tell since i haven't heard any of those albums, however, this isn't about Album of the Year, is about what did you enjoy the most this year, doesn't matter if it is Lady Gaga or Ensiferum.
madsnakehhh
Would you not consider the album you enjoyed the most as your "album of the year?"
Yep, so it's a personal choice, that's why i don't have any right to criticized the choice of other people by calling them bad albums, even if they were bad by my standards but it was good for them.
All I was stating was my lack of understanding as to why people like those two albums. Then I went on to say that they are bad in my opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. Is that such a crime? It's not like I was stating it as a fact or anything.
I haven't heard a 2010 album lol. But if there's one album worth mentioning I bought this year it's definitely Led Zeppelin.
Other Worthy Competitors:
A day at the races
2112
Dean Martin
Frank Sintatra

They STILL haven't freaking released that album here in the States....
Anyways, I forgot an ablum when I posted earlier:
Mind-blowingly good debut album right here. This band is definitely one to watch out for. Best metal band to debut in quite some time IMO.
If you haven't checked it out yet, listen to this and this.
I kind of thought this album was disappointing. I liked bulbs demo tracks better. I think its the new vocalist. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Recovery
Man on the Moon II
Thank Me Later

Fair enough then, is just that at first it seemed that you were criticizing their choices.

I understand how it could've been construed as such. All I can say to people who liked A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park and Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold is that they go back and listen to some of their older stuff. I know that makes me sound very snarky and elitist, but it's very much the case with those two bands. Nothing will ever touch "Hybrid Theory" & "Meteora" by Linkin Park. Same goes for "City of Evil" by Avenged Sevenfold.
[QUOTE="BodyElite"]1. Eminem "Recovery" 2. Avenged Sevenfold "Nightmare" 3. T.I. "No Mercy"hockey73I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed with "No Mercy," it's not bad but after "Paper Trails" I guess I was expecting more. I hate the songs, Lay Me Down and Amazing though, but Castle Walls, That's All She Wrote, No Mercy, and Big Picture made up for that.
I didnt hear tip's new album... I'm listening to "teflon don" now but I'm going to throw "no mercy" on
