What year(s) are you considering? I never drove a Trans Am (just a Firebird with a 302) before. I have owned two mustangs (72 Grande and 71 mach1.) My opinion, of those two I'm biased. Mustang I say, but quite honestly if you can, forget those and get an 3.2 E36 M3. Once you go M you will look at driving with a completely different perspective.

You can get 2005 s2000 easily for 20k, with around 30k miles, just like the mustang. Trans Ams stopped around 2002, I think they were starting to blind fellow motorists. Anyways get a Mustang, much better looking.

[QUOTE="Anti-Venom"]for GTA_Dude: Im talking about brand new, screw used and abused...GTA_dudeThey are discontinuing the S2000, so no point in buying a bran new one new, if its the last model....it'll just depreciate and be a waste of money, especially if there were no big design changes in the past couple years.... waste of money....nah

Yes, but if you get the Z28, make sure you have Journey's greatest hits in the CD deck at all times. And grow a mullet.
Why would anyone want to buy an S2000? If you absolutely need a mid-life crisis roadster, the Mazda Miata and Toyota Spyder are cheaper and more fun to drive. Yeah, they don't have the S2000's horsepower, but the S2000 has less torque than my lawnmower. As for the cars, I'd grab a '69 Camero over either of those - Mustangs are fine (other than the 80s model and the girlishly bloated 90's model) but they're ridiculously common. But realistically I'd take that $20,000, buy a gently used Camry for practical purposes and spend the other half on beer and prostitutes. Depreciation is a mother**bleep**er.DJ_Laeyour comments on the S2000 are exaggerated

it will around ANY track with actual turns, for 20 grand i would be looking at, used audi s4's, used m3's used sti's and evos and used mazdaspeed 3's all which will dominate most mustangs and trans ams, which from my expierance of driving them have terible suspension and crappy plastic interiors, if you striclty an american fanboy then you can find higher milage c5's or a really low milage used cobalt ss which is actually a really good car
