His name is too controversial.
Anyone remember that?

Yes, what the hell was up with that guy?
obama wants to raise your taxes (he's made no effort to keep that a secret. everyone's taxes will go up if obama is elected). Obama wants to personally meet with the leaders of rogue states.
mccain wants to lower your taxes and win in Iraq and help Iran and North Korea and other rogue states make the transition to democracy.
vote against obama because he hasn't talked about anything but the world "change" yet nothing about what he actually means by it.
vote for mccain because he won't just run away from iraq. no matter how unpopular it is, we shouldn't just withdrawal or else the same thing that happened last time will happen again (everyone that helped us is immediately killed by the new saddam). if we pull out then we should no longer be the world police.
mccain wants to lower your taxes and win in Iraq and help Iran and North Korea and other rogue states make the transition to democracy.

And he's going to do all that without talking to them?

it took us a years to establish our government. democracies don't just get created overnight, it takes a lot of patient.

talking to them will not help the transition to democracy. by giving aid to those trying to establish a democratic state, we can help with the transition to democracy[QUOTE="bman784"][QUOTE="Junkie_man"][QUOTE="fanofazrienoch"]mccain wants to lower your taxes and win in Iraq and help Iran and North Korea and other rogue states make the transition to democracy.

The US government has changed a lot since our independence. Perhaps if capitalist politicians (mainly Republicans) started running our country less like a business and more like a democracy...
Just the fact that he had a 20 year friendship with Jeremiah Wright and other questionable associations.
He's way too liberal and considers illegal aliens as "immigrants".
He has been known to bash our armed forces
He says his campaign is not about race, then gives a 40 minute speech how we should learn something from Jeremiah Wright. Saying he couldn't disown him anymore than an uncle. Then finally, after a long time, he disowns him.
He has made stereotypical racist comments about both blacks and whites.
Too inexperienced and reckless in foreign affairs.
His name is too controversial for my taste -Barrack Hussein Obama
I'm not saying I hate the guy, but vote for President of the US. Heck no!
Oh, you just wanted one reason.

So you consider his name to be an important factor? Grow up. You are no better than those ignorant schmucks who vote for a president based on how "handsome" he is.

Fine, if people vote for him because he's handsome or black, then I can not vote for him based partly on a constroversial name. And I wouldn't vote for Rudolph Hitler either.

Rudolph was Adolph's brother, and I wouldn't vote for him either.

Actually that's not true. There is a Rudolph Hess, if that counts. Nice attempt at side-tracking though- you roped me into it.

Because the president should be interested in enforcing the laws of the country, not pandering to lawbreakers. duh.

I suppose you were a Ron Paul fan before he fell off the radar.
I'm curious as to whether Obama could get the typically liberal Jewish vote. What with his name and all.
There's a reason why Democrats may be concerned about his name, if the Jewish vote goes Republican (who is Lieberman's best friend?) it could cost him them the race.

As if the Jewish race is in any position to criticize people based on race! What hypocrisy!

There is an ancestral relationship, but yes, you are correct- my bad, but do you have anything to contribute to this argument other than semantics?

Yeah, why/how are they hypocrites?
Judging based on race/religion? What are blacks doing this election then?

I believe blacks are simply revelling in the fact that the first time in history, they may have a black leader of our nation. I believe for the most part it is harmless and let them enjoy it.
As for the Jews, they were (and to some extents, still are) the most persecuted group of people on the planet, mostly based on religion, and also because Syria wants their land back which was just arbitrarily given to them, but you would think that they would put two and two together and realise the destructive potential of race discrimination!
[QUOTE="FingerSub"]Vote for McCain he isnt a **** and just say whatever the people want to hear. There is no real bastion of conservatism in Japan, besides the few and far between Japanese Imperialists. Finger's post seemed more aimed at character than policy

Thank you, I understand why you made the comment now.
Though religion (or a culturally based name) shouldn't play a part in who you vote for, it unfortunately comes down to that sometimes. I think that is a big reason why Mitt Romney (who I voted for, despite me being agnostic) did not win the Republican nomination.
