No.This is tragic...
at least he went out with a bang though, The Dark Knight is going to be mind blowing, and part of it will be him.
BoG_
Going out with a bang would be like falling of a skyscraper, realizing your whole life was worthless, and then making love to a shotgun.
It seems he Od'd on sleeping pills. Naked.
I have no sympathy for the loss of people who's death is caused by substance abuse. Yeah, it may seem heartless, but I have no heart towards drug users.Snaptrap
Actually it was sleeping pills suppossedly which would make this a whole different scenario.
He likely got desperate and delusional from his supposed lack of sleep and accidentally od'd on the pills in frustration. Quite tragic honestly....
[QUOTE="maccer101"]just done a few quick searches there and its been confirmed,
i read into the gritty details and it saddens me, only 28 and committed suicide
just when i was starting to get into his work too, this sucks.....
Buffalo_Soulja
His family released at statement that his death was accidental.
He died just today. How can anyone proclaim how he died when an autopsy and thorough investigation hasn't even been performed yet? Of course the family is going to make a statement that it wasn't suicide, there's no family that wouldn't, especially being in the public eye. But why must they do it so soon? Seems a bit too early when they're still snapping photos of his room.
I was completely taken by surprise by the news when I heard it earlier. He was a great actor, and many great roles were probably in store for him.
I'm hoping the whole "drug abuse" thing isn't true; I have a hard time believing that. Either way, it was a great loss.
That's a damn tragedy, a guy dying like that, when he had his whole life ahead of him.
May he rest in peace.

No autopsy is going to tell you his psychological condition before his death.

Why not? If he is found to have a stomach filled with an entire bottle of sleeping pills in addition to having lethal levels in his bloodstream at the time of his death, to me that's a large indication of his state of mind at the time.[QUOTE="Buffalo_Soulja"][QUOTE="Rekunta"][QUOTE="Buffalo_Soulja"][QUOTE="maccer101"]just done a few quick searches there and its been confirmed,

That definitely sucks for his fans and especially his friends and loved ones!!! :(
I have a feeling this might garner more public interest in the movie than there already is due to the untimely end of the very much anticipated "new Joker".
I hope they finished filming Dark Knight before he died or else I'm going to kill him!!!!Sykoh
HAHAHAHAH...but seriously, this is sad.
And I think he was done with The Dark Knight, superherohype.com said he was just shooting another movie in Vancouver.
Wow this topic is still going. I'm a bit surprised.
DId anyone else catch reports that said his Joker character might have got him addicted to sleeping pills?
figured i'd post this in both the heath threads as I think everyone should know about the sickening Fred Phelps and his WBC and their plans to boycott Heath Ledger's funeral due to his role in Brokeback Mountain

What a bunch of god bothering sons of-.....I think i'll stop there.
I thought i was the only one that heard that. They said that he told a friend that his character (The Joker) was so demonic that he had been able to get like 2 hours of sleep per night.Wow this topic is still going. I'm a bit surprised.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="Samwel_X"]It says on Wikipedia that the Police Department found him dead... does this mean it could be suspicious?Samwel_X
No...they said no crime. Probably drugs as he was found in bed.
That sucks, he was just becoming a pretty good actor too.
I think he would've been one of hollywood's next best actors. He was starting to do films that were interesting and creative. The Dark Knight trailer blew me away mainly because of his performance.
He had so much talent. It's a sad day.

I predict over $600 million. You could guess that even if he didn't die, just look at Batman Begins.
I saw this on cnn yesterday, it's a tragedy.
he was too beautiful to die
Pearl_of_Egypt
Yeah, its terrible. He was at the prime of his career. It hit me pretty close to home, as he was born and raised in the city that I live in (Perth, Western Australia). Hell, his parents and family are less than 20km from where I live :(

ah that sucks, I feel terrible for his family :(
it's really awful to lose someone so young and talented. and he has a young daughter as well.
life is unfair :(
Watching the new Batman film will be strange...as every scene that Heath is in will remind us that he is no longer with us :(
In a way, it will probably be like watching the similarly dark-themed The Crow, where Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee died of a gun-shot wound from a faulty prop-gun.

indeed. I don't think I'll be very enthusiastic watching him as the Joker when the movie comes out. it will just feel strange :(
