see but im not talking about alcohol im talking about a far far more addictive substance than that one that 99% of the population if they try some good ol cocaine will likely get addicted theres a reason that drug is among the more lethal drugs out there. theres no such thing as a person that can do cocaine on just occassion it just doesnt happen you do it once maybe you can get away with it you start doing it more than once and you are hooked thats just the way cocaine works. so no this isnt drinking beer once a week this is like shooting up some meth crack and cocaine once a week you my friend would not be able to stop.
and i highly doubt your the one strange exception to this rule. and i highly doubt you could quit cold turkey permanently people can quit for a few weeks before getting sucked back in thats not entirely uncommon. and all porn users are compulsive in nature they do it regularly. its like a smoker they can sometimes go a little while just through sheer will power but sooner or later sheer will power runs out because your brain has formed a habit and habits dont die easily and of course the whole addictive substances.
never mind the the whole ugly side of the porn world you know murders and drug overdoses and rapes and STDs. sorry i dont buy it that your brain somehow functions different than the rest of us your not somehow a super evolved human.

By the same mindset we are all literally addicted to TV, to music and many other things.Just because we do a certain activity regularly and we like it and want it doesnt constitute an addiction by definition.
Just because may find it hard to stop watching porn, that doesnt constitute an addiction. First we need to know what is causing their "inability" to stay away from it (if we accept they are indeed incapable). For instance smoking addiction has primarily psychological roots (easily understandable if one knows Pavlov's experiment with the dog). Many drugs addictions stem from biological and psychological factors.
But what about porn? Porn is something people actually dont really want to quit imo. They dont go back because they are addicted, they go back because they want it. In the case where someone really doesnt want porn but still watches it then it his sexual urges kicking in needigng a let off. To my understanding, sexual urges alone cannot be considered as a factor that creates an addiction.
Addictions of non analogous things are not analogous themselves. Thus it takes more to call viewing porn an addiction than it takes to call taking drugs an addiction for instance.
Also habit =/= addiction.
