When I was a kid that's all we had really. No internet porn; so magazines, nude scenes in movies, and the occasional friend who had the Playboy channel was about it.
These days I feel like it's unnecessary 99% of the time and adds nothing to the movie. I also feel like the selling point of nude scenes in movies has diminished greatly since internet porn has been free and widely available.
They make me feel like I'm not as exciting. I cant remember the last time I ripped off my and my girlfriends clothes and threw her on top of a table and then did the deed. But apparently, in the movies, that's the norm.

I don't mind it in films, books and whatnot. What does do my head in though is here in the UK on TV, every period drama (in fact just every new drama) seems to be a thinly veiled softcore porn film. I don't watch them but if the adverts for them are anything to go by (which are supposed to make you want to watch them) 90% of the episodes must just be people humping each other.
I'm totally fine with them as long as they serve a purpose in the movie. For example, they can be effective in conveying a sense of intimacy within the story. They tend to annoy me more if they're just in there for the sake of being there. In that case, I'd much rather just look at porn online that's a lot more satisfying than some long softcore scene in a movie. Also depends on the genre of flim. Context matters.

Well, you could make an argument for some of the stuff with Dany... creepy as it may be... Not to mention that the one at the end of the first episode...well...I dunno...sets the whole war in motion and is the very beginning of everything that's happened? But no,no,no,no,no,no, GoT's sex serves no purpose in the story at all.

Typically sex scenes bring nothing of real value to the story itself. I mean, is it too much to ask for them just to imply the act, instead of wasting time? There's also the matter of how awkward these sex scenes can get. The show Dexter comes to mind when saying this. I couldn't help but cringe at some of those scenes in that show, and I was alone while watching them too. Finally, let's be honest here, if I really wanted to watch sex I'll just go online and look up some porn or something. I don't need my TV shows or movies to help get me off, you know what I'm sayin'?

You are a prude, sorry, but it's what I'm reading. You probably don't even blink when you see a violent scene on a TV show, but a bit of sex has to have a "purpose" or it is unacceptable. Case in point, I see many people criticizing GoT for the use of nudity. I rarely if ever see anyone criticizing it for the graphic violence. And yet, the violence is MUCH more common in GoT than the nudity/sex.
